    En nuestro país, los profesores tienen la gran responsabilidad de asumir el reto a estas constantes transformaciones, agudizadas por la competitividad, la capacitación constante y el manejo de las habilidades profesionales y emocionales. Las acciones de los Institutos de Educación Superior no Universitaria es limitado ya que los docentes presentan debilidades en las estrategias de enseñanza. Acontecimiento que sin duda alguna afectan la formación técnica. Toda esta realidad ha repercutido en el proceso E – A, lo cual lleva a plantear el problema De qué manera las estrategias de enseñanza logran mejorar el rendimiento académico en los alumnos de la carrera técnica computación e informática.Con el propósito de despejar nuestras inquietudes sobre los estilos de enseñanza en nuestra institución se toma como objetivo genera: Diseñar estrategias de enseñanza para mejorar el rendimiento académico de los alumnos de la carrera profesional técnica Computación e Informática del II – IV – VI del ISEP “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.” En este contexto, el rendimiento académico de los alumnos constituye una de las variables más importantes para una educación de calidad, por ello, se propone estrategias de enseñanza para mejorar el rendimiento académico de los alumnos de la carrera profesional técnico de Computación e Informática del II – IV - VI ciclo del ISEP “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús “, de Chiclayo 2013. La información de la problemática se ha recogido a través de una guía encuesta, una ficha de observación docente, entrevistas en profundidad y recojo de testimonios sobre rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. La muestra está constituida por 153 alumnos y 13 docentes. Luego de haber aplicado estos instrumentos se determinó que el rendimiento académico pasa 8 por los graves problemas de enseñanza. Desde estas dimensiones y realidades, vemos pues, que la educación superior se ve afectada, más aun si nuestros docentes desconocen las estrategias y su utilización. Para ello, el docente debe estar capacitado para el manejo adecuado de estrategias y pueda optimizar los aprendizajes , donde se tenga en cuenta los aspectos sociales, con la cultura y desarrollando los procesos mentales y la tecnología

    In situ decoration of graphene sheets with gold nanoparticles synthetized by pulsed laser ablation in liquids

    The demand for nanocomposites of graphene and carbonaceous materials decorated with metallic nanoparticles is increasing on account of their applications in science and technology. Traditionally, the production of graphene-metal assemblies is achieved by the non-environmentally friendly reduction of metallic salts in carbonaceous suspensions. However, precursor residues during nanoparticle growth may reduce their surface activity and promote cross-chemical undesired effects. In this work we present a laser-based alternative to synthesize ligand-free gold nanoparticles that are anchored onto the graphene surface in a single reaction step. Laser radiation is used to generate highly pure nanoparticles from a gold disk surrounded by a graphene oxide suspension. The produced gold nanoparticles are directly immobilized onto the graphene surface. Moreover, the presence of graphene oxide influences the size of the nanoparticles and its interaction with the laser, causes only a slight reduction of the material.     Efficacy and safety of the combination of reduced duration prophylaxis followed by immuno-guided prophylaxis to prevent cytomegalovirus disease in lung transplant recipients (CYTOCOR STUDY): an open-label, randomised, non-inferiority clinical trial

The monitoring of cell immunity against CMV could be an alternative as it has shown to be useful in identifying transplant patients at low risk of infection, who could benefit from shorter prophylaxis. The aim of the CYTOCOR study is to demonstrate that the combination of a reduced prophylaxis strategy with subsequent CMV-specific immunological monitoring would allow CMV infection to be controlled in lung transplant patients as effectively as the usual strategy (prophylaxis followed by pre-emptive therapy), while reducing the side effects of antivirals due to the shorter duration of prophylaxis. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: Phase III randomised, open, multicentre, parallel, non-inferiority clinical trial to study the efficacy and safety of the combination of a prophylaxis strategy up to month +3 post-transplant followed by immuno-guided prophylaxis using the QuantiFERON-CMV technique up to month +12 post-transplant to prevent CMV disease in CMV-seropositive lung transplant recipients. This strategy will be compared with a combination of a usual prophylaxis strategy up to month +6 post-transplant followed by pre-emptive therapy up to month +12. To study the incidence of CMV disease, patients will be followed up to 18 months post-transplantation. A total of 150 patients are expected to be recruited for the study.     Influence of chemistry and fiber diameter of electrospun PLA, PCL and their blend membranes, intended as cell supports, on their biological behavior

    .The prevalence of osteoarthritis, a degenerative cartilage disease that causes joint surface erosion and loss of mobility, emphasizes the need of producing a functional articular cartilage replacement. Tissue engineering has been the focus of recent research as a possible strategy for cartilage regeneration and repair. The most widely used technique for the manufacture of nanofibers is polymer electrospinning. Polylactic acid (PLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL) have been proved particularly suitable for nanofiber preparation, with many biomedical applications. The main aim of this work was to evaluate the behavior of adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) cultured on biomaterials of PLA, PCL and a combination of both (PLA/PCL), manufactured by electrospinning. We analyzed the bioactive properties of these cells in cultures on them, in terms of proliferation, adhesion, morphology, viability and differentiation. In addition, the influence of the thickness of the fibers in each biomaterial on these cellular characteristics was evaluated for their use in Cartilage Regenerative Medicine applications to promote chondrogenic differentiation. Depending on the parameter assessed, different results were obtained on each biomaterial. Using both polymers successful results on cellular viability were obtained, although in the case of PCL the cellular response in all the experiments was significantly better. As for the blends, positive outcomes were obtained, but they did not overtake the characteristics of PCL. Interestingly, ASCs were able to differentiate into chondrocytes without adding specific chondrogenic media in the three biomaterials tested. Moreover, a marked cell differentiation on PCL with 1.8 μm-fiber diameter and PLA/PCL blends was observed. These findings may play a key role in cartilage Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering.S

    A Primer on Resonances in Quantum Mechanics

    After a pedagogical introduction to the concept of resonance in classical and quantum mechanics, some interesting applications are discussed. The subject includes resonances occurring as one of the effects of radiative reaction, the resonances involved in the refraction of electromagnetic waves by a medium with a complex refractive index, and quantum decaying systems described in terms of resonant states of the energy.     Tenemos cita con el arte: Visiting art museums with people living with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers

    GIMUPAI is a research group constituted by teachers and researchers of the Faculty of Fine Arts (Complutense University of Madrid) and the Department of Social Psychology and Anthropology (Salamanca University). In answering to the growing necessity of developing museum programs for people living with Alzheimer's disease, we have designed, implemented and evaluated a set of museum visits and workshops under the name "Tenemos cita con el arte". This initiative is part of the Spanish state-funded research project entitled "Art education un museums and other cultural institutions as a tool for increasing the wellbeing of people affected with Alzheimer" (Ministerio de Educación-EDU2013-43253-R). With this program we aim at making the museum accessible to people with Alzheimer and their caregivers. In doing so, we analyze the difficulties that a group of this characteristics encounters. This text offers an in-depth view of the museum itineraries carried out during the visits to the Museo del Prado and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid. It includes information on the specific aims, methodology, contents, challenges and difficulties encountered while accompanying a group of people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers to a museum setting

    Genetic and functional homologous repair deficiency as biomarkers for platinum sensitivity in TNBC: A case report

In the early stage, neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is the standard of care for prognostic stratification and the best adjuvant treatment strategy. A 30-year-old female presented in the emergency room because of a gigantic right breast associated with an ulcerated lump at the upper quadrants. The right axillary nodes were palpable. An ultrasound was performed, showing the ulcerated neoformation with enlarged right axillary lymph nodes observed to level III. A core biopsy of the breast lesion was performed, and the pathological examination revealed a nonspecial type, grade 3, invasive, triple-negative breast cancer. No distant disease was found in the PET-CT scan. A germline genetic panel by next-generation sequencing identified a likely pathogenic variant in RAD51D (c.898C>T). Assessment of the functionality of the DNA homologous recombination repair pathway by RAD51 foci in the tumor revealed a profile of homologous recombination deficiency. NAC consisting of weekly carboplatin and paclitaxel followed by dose-dense doxorubicin/cyclophosphamide was performed with a complete metabolic response achieved in the PET-CT scan. The patient underwent a modified radical mastectomy plus axillary lymphadenectomy with a pathological complete response in the breast and axilla and remains disease-free after 2 years of follow-up. We report a young female with a triple-negative breast cancer stage cT4bN3M0 and a hereditary pathogenic mutation in RAD51D. The tumor was highly proliferative and homologous recombination-deficient by RAD51. The patient received platinum-based NAC, achieving a pathologic complete response. More effort should be made to identify predictive functional biomarkers of treatment response, such as RAD51 foci, for platinum sensitivity

    A cross-sectional study on attitudes toward gender equality, sexual behavior, positive sexual experiences, and communication about sex among sexually active and non-sexually active adolescents in Bolivia and Ecuador

    Background: It is widely agreed upon that gender is a key aspect of sexuality however, questions remain on how gender exactly influences adolescents’ sexual health. Objective: The aim of this research was to study correlations between gender equality attitudes and sexual behavior, sexual experiences and communication about sex among sexually active and non-sexually active adolescents in 2 Latin American countries. Design: In 2011, a cross-sectional study was carried out among 5,913 adolescents aged 14–18 in 20 secondary schools in Cochabamba (Bolivia) and 6 secondary schools in Cuenca (Ecuador). Models were built using logistic regressions to assess the predictive value of attitudes toward gender equality on adolescents’ sexual behavior, on experiences and on communication. Results: The analysis shows that sexually active adolescents who consider gender equality as important report higher current use of contraceptives within the couple. They are more likely to describe their last sexual intercourse as a positive experience and consider it easier to talk with their partner about sexuality than sexually experienced adolescents who are less positively inclined toward gender equality. These correlations remained consistent whether the respondent was a boy or a girl. Non-sexually active adolescents, who consider gender equality to be important, are more likely to think that sexual intercourse is a positive experience. They consider it less necessary to have sexual intercourse to maintain a relationship and find it easier to communicate with their girlfriend or boyfriend than sexually non-active adolescents who consider gender equality to be less important. Comparable results were found for boys and girls. Conclusions: Our results suggest that gender equality attitudes have a positive impact on adolescents’ sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and wellbeing. Further research is necessary to better understand the relationship between gender attitudes and specific SRH outcomes such as unwanted teenage pregnancies and sexual pleasure among adolescents worldwide

    GIMUPAI is a research group comprising teachers and researchers from the Faculty of Fine Arts (University Complutense of Madrid) and the Department of Social Psychology and Anthropology (Salamanca University) who have been working in art and health projects over the last thirteen years. Recently, we have carried out Tenemos cita con el arte, part of a national research project entitled "Art education in museums and other cultural institutions as a tool for increasing the wellbeing of people affected with Alzheimer" (Ministry of the Economy and Competitiveness-EDU2013-43253-R). The main objective of the program is to make the museum‘s artworks available to people with Alzheimer‘s and their caregivers, at the same time encouraging them to participate in artistic activities and artistic creation through art workshops. Tenemos cita con el arte has been designed as a program of visits of the Prado Museum and the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia Museum. The program also has included participation in workshops on visual arts and artistic creativity in the Faculty of Fine Arts. The program was undertaken between October and December 2015 with a group of 15 participants (Alzheimer‘s patients, caregivers, and other health and social workers)
