The Development of a Complete English Program that will include Content-Based Units that provide students from I, II, and III year of Secondary School with an educational,Instructional and Moral Academic Background Education

There are many different issues that students from 7,8,9th graders must consider to keep updated and get well prepared for entering the next level of High School and pursue a professional career in the future. They must consider school life, family issues, academic assignments and study skills that they should accomplish for graduating. Communications nowdays are highly developed as well as Technology, media and journal information are available for anyone who can operate a computer, has a cellular phone,TV or cable TV or has access to any print or written material available in libraries, bookstores. Besides peers, friends, parents teachers, team coaches, academic assignments present a challenge to students getting ready for University or any other academic goal they will pursue in their future life. As a result having a good Reading-Writing background is very important for the students we educate and necessary for their instructional improvement and academic success in their next school level. Students will face different situations in their lives and to help them in their decision making process they need moral educational values, principles and a solid belief system, faith, that will support and assist them in taking responsibility for their actions and behavior (moral conduct ) to help them become happy and fulfilled persons within their family, school, friends, society and in the context of a church community. As a teacher I believe it is very important to understand that we are educating the persons and citizens of the future and that we have a tremendous responsibility to educate them well and thoroughly. We are responsible to educate not only their intellect, but also their minds and souls, teaching them moral and ethical values as well as an academic instruction. This research study will develop theme subjects to improve the English class with meaningful and enriching activities that promote the love of language and help students with the acquisition and learning of a Second Language. In this research study we implemented the use of theme subjects like those from traditional content areas like Literature, Art, Music, Language Arts and Geography to overlap with Lessons from the Secondary English textbook to enrich the English Class and provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn and acquire a Second Languag

Aplicación de la gamificación a través de la herramienta “Mentimeter” con el fin de promover la participación de los estudiantes de niveles básicos de inglés en un instituto privado de Lima

La presente investigación se basa en un proyecto de innovación, el cual tiene por objetivo promover la participación de estudiantes mediante la incorporación de la gamificación a través de la herramienta “Mentimeter” en los niveles básicos de inglés de un instituto privado en Lima. De esa manera, la investigación busca analizar la gamificación a través de la herramienta “Mentimeter” en clase. Con el fin de conocer las percepciones de los estudiantes sobre su participación en el desarrollo de las clases, se realizó una encuesta previa que permitió concluir que estos muestran poca participación durante el desarrollo de las mismas, pues solo se limitan a trabajar de manera individual y no grupal por el temor a equivocarse y a ser juzgados por sus compañeros. Evidentemente, esta situación conlleva a que los estudiantes no puedan desarrollar satisfactoriamente distintas competencias, como la comprensión y producción oral y escrita. Dicho esto, esta investigación se enfoca en identificar las percepciones de los estudiantes en cuanto a su participación durante el desarrollo de clases de inglés, de manera que a través del empleo de aplicaciones como “Mentimeter”, el docente pueda contribuir positivamente a la participación del estudiante durante su proceso de aprendizaje. A partir de lo mencionado anteriormente, las preguntas que orientan la investigación son: ¿De qué forma el uso de “Mentimeter” promueve la participación de los estudiantes de niveles básicos de inglés en un instituto privado en Lima? Se considera que este estudio contribuirá a determinar si el uso de “Mentimeter” representa una herramienta que fomente la participación, la motivación y la autonomía del estudiante. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo tomando como eje principal a la investigación acción; es así que se busca beneficiar a una población real, en este caso serán los estudiantes de niveles básico en un instituto privado de inglés en Lima. Es importante mencionar el número de estudiantes por clase, la institución puede formar un salón con un mínimo de 12 estudiantes y como máximo con 25 estudiantes. En cuanto a la presente investigación, se consideró estudiantes que se encuentren en un rango de 17 a 30 años, y estén realizando estudios técnicos en institutos, así como también estudios universitarios. La categoría a considerar será la participación, y como subcategorías se considerarán a la motivación percibida y la autonomía del estudiante. Las técnicas de investigación que se utilizarán serán la encuesta, la cual se aplicará a los estudiantes al finalizar el curso. Por otro lado, a partir de la observación, el investigador buscará recoger información utilizando un anecdotario o diario docente con el propósito de describir la manera en que los estudiantes utilizan y participan la herramienta durante las clases. Además, el investigador ha considerado realizar un grupo focal, ya que mediante esta técnica cualitativa se puede obtener información mucho más específica en cuanto a la percepción de los estudiantes. Finalmente, es preciso resaltar que se ha respetado los principios éticos de la investigación a través del consentimiento informado que se hará llegar a los estudiantes que participen en la investigación. Este estudio contribuye a generar un mayor alcance a la población docente sobre el uso de la gamificación en estudiantes de educación superior, dado que existen diversos estudios que se enfocan en la educación primaria, mas no en este nivel educativo.Tesi

Síndrome de moya-moya y falciformia. Reporte de un caso

Moya-Moya Disease is a progressive occlusive vascular, non-inflammatory, non-atherosclerotic, which affects the large vessels of the circle of Willis. In this article we report a case of Moya-Moya syndrome associated with Sickle Cell Anemia, who had transient ischemic attacks often the diagnosis is based on the patient’s clinical and angiographic findings was revascularized by encefalomiosinangiosis, process by which greatly improves their quality of life and cease the occurrence of transient ischemic attacks. We conclude that it is a case of Moya-Moya Syndrome since the patient had concomitant Sickle Cell DiseaseLa Enfermedad de Moya-Moya es una vasculopatía oclusiva progresiva, no inflamatoria, no ateroesclerótica, que afecta los grandes vasos del polígono de Willis. En el presente artículo se reporta un caso de un síndrome de Moya- Moya asociado a Anemia de Células Falciformes, quien presentaba ataques isquémicos transitorios con frecuencia, el diagnostico se basa en la clínica del paciente y los hallazgos angiográficos, fue revascularizado mediante encefalomiosinangiosis, procedimiento con el cual mejora notablemente su calidad de vida y cesa la aparición de ataques isquémicos transitorios. Se concluye que se trata de un caso de síndrome de Moya-Moya dado que concomitantemente este paciente presentó Enfermedad de Células Falciformes. (DUAZARY 2012 No. 2, 176 - 180)

Effect of different growth stages of rapeseed (brassica rapa L.) on nutrient intake and digestibility, nitrogen balance, and rumen fermentation kinetics in sheep diets

The objective of the present study was to determine the dietary effect of different growth stages of rapeseed (Brassica rapa L.) on nutrient intake and digestibility, nitrogen balance, and rumen fermentation kinetics in sheep.The objective of the present study was to determine the dietary effect of different growth stages of rapeseed (Brassica rapa L.) on nutrient intake and digestibility, nitrogen balance, and rumen fermentation kinetics in sheep. Four dietary treatments were utilised. A basal control diet based on alfalfa hay, oat hay, soybean meal and corn grain. Then alfalfa hay was replaced with 300 g/kg DM of rapeseed forage harvested at three different growth stages: Vegetative, Flowering and Pod. In vitro gas production was determined using three rumen cannulated Suffolk sheep in a completely randomised design, and nutrients intake and digestibility of each diet were determined using four Suffolk sheep in a 4 4 Latin square design with 21 d periods consisting of 14 d for diet adaptation and 7 d for sample collection. Feed intake and excretion of faeces and urine were recorded. Dry matter intake was higher for control and Pod compared to Vegetative and Flowering. The digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, neutral detergent fibre and acid detergent fibre were similar among treatments. Nitrogen intake was higher for control and Pod and lower for Vegetative and Flowering. In vitro gas production was similar among treatments (P > .05). In vitro gas yield at 24 h was higher (P < .05) for control than the rest of the treatments. Overall, inclusion of 300 g/kg DM of rapeseed forage harvested at pod stage as a substitute for alfalfa hay is an alternative source of protein without affecting nutrient intake and digestibility.Amelia Zetina Sanchez thanked the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt, Mexico) for the scholarship for her studies at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.
