Optimization of organic-containing wastewater and sludge treatment systems
An enzymatic-cavitation method for the biological treatment of organic-containing wastewater and sludge treatment has been developed, according to which the air supply is carried out not by compressors, but rather ejectors. In addition, low-intensity cavitation is provided. The biological treatment of the wastewater has been performed at a temperature of 10–42°C. The energy consumption of the process is reduced by six times, while the time of sludge treatment is 8–10 h at a pressure of 0.30–0.35 MPa. The treated sludge has some adsorptive properties
Calculation of nuclear spin-dependent parity-nonconserving amplitude for (7s,F=4) --> (7s,F=5) transition in Fr
Many-body calculation of nuclear spin-dependent parity-nonconserving
amplitude for (7s,F=4) --> (7s,F=5) transition between hyperfine sublevels of
the ground state of Fr is carried out. The final result is <7s,F=5
||d_PNC|| 7s,F=4> = -0.49 10^{-10} i kappa a.u., where kappa is the
dimensionless coupling constant. This is approximately an order of magnitude
larger than similar amplitude in Cs. The dominant contribution to kappa is
associated with the anapole moment of the nucleus.Comment: 4 pages, submitted to Phys.Rev.
Capillary-sorption effects in soil after chieselling and introduction of non-traditional fertilizers (meliorants)
The movement of moisture in the soil is filtering, which is written in the form of Darcy's law. Water pressure in the soil is the amount of capillary-sorption, gravity and osmotic pressure, the latter is insignificant and can be ignored. The gravitational pressure is always present, its vector is directed downward, and the vector of capillary-sorption pressure can be directed up, down, or be absent altogether. At the direction of action of capillary-sorption pressure significantly affected by the initial moisture content of the soil, deep (chisel) and unconventional tillage fertilizer (meliorant) is sewage sludge, which has adsorption properties and amendments to the soil surface as a mulch layer. Chieselling of soil is accompanied by the formation of saltwater bottom of the furrow. Subsurface ridges deflect vector capillary-sorption pressure and contribute to dehydration of the soil untouched. After chieselling on waterlogged soils in wide rows of cultivated crops have on the ridges. Chieselling of soil and sediment entering are performed once in 2-3 years. The depth of plowing makes 50-60 cm, the width of row-spacing makes 70-80 cm, making sludge dose of 20-25 t/ha.
Extraction of Kaon Formfactors from K^- -> mu^- nu_mu gamma Decay at ISTRA+ Setup
The radiative decay K->mu nu gamma has been studied at ISTRA+ setup in a new
kinematical region. About 22K events of K^- -> mu^- nu_mu gamma have been
observed. The sign and value of Fv-Fa have been measured for the first time.
The result is Fv-Fa=0.21(4)(4).Comment: 11 pages, 21 figures, submitted to Phys. Lett.
Search for light pseudoscalar sgoldstino in K- decays
A search for the light pseudoscalar sgoldstino production in the three body
K- decay K-->pipi0P has been performed with the ISTRA+ detector exposed to the
25 GeV negative secondary beam of the U70 proton synchrotron. No signal is
seen. An upper limit for the branching ratio Br(K->pipi0P), at 90% confidence
level, is found to be around 9*10**-6 in the effective mass m(P) range from 0
till 200 MeV, excluding the region near m(pi0) where it degrades to 3.5*10**-5.Comment: 10 pages, LATEX, 8 EPS figures, revised version, to be published in

High statistic measurement of the K- -> pi0 e- nu decay form-factors
The decay K- -> pi0 e- nu is studied using in-flight decays detected with the
ISTRA+ spectrometer. About 920K events are collected for the analysis. The
lambda+ slope parameter of the decay form-factor f+(t) in the linear
approximation (average slope) is measured: lambda+(lin)= 0.02774 +-
0.00047(stat) +- 0.00032(syst). The quadratic contribution to the form-factor
was estimated to be lambda'+ = 0.00084 +- 0.00027(stat) +- 0.00031(syst). The
linear slope, which has a meaning of df+(t)/dt|_{t=0} for this fit, is lambda+
= 0.02324 +- 0.00152(stat) +- 0.00032(syst). The limits on possible tensor and
scalar couplings are derived: f_{T}/f_{+}(0)=-0.012 +- 0.021(stat) +-
0.011$(syst), f_{S}/f_{+}(0)=-0.0037^{+0.0066}_{-0.0056}(stat) +- 0.0041(syst).Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures. Accepted by Phys.Lett.
Adatoms in Graphene
We review the problem of adatoms in graphene under two complementary points
of view, scattering theory and strong correlations. We show that in both cases
impurity atoms on the graphene surface present effects that are absent in the
physics of impurities in ordinary metals. We discuss how to observe these
unusual effects with standard experimental probes such as scanning tunneling
microscopes, and spin susceptibility.Comment: For the Proceedings of the "Graphene Week 2008" at the ICTP in

Search for Heavy Neutrino in K->mu nu_h(nu_h-> nu gamma) Decay at ISTRA+ Setup
Heavy neutrino nu_h with m_h < 300MeV/c^2 can be effectively searched for in
kaon decays. We put upper limits on mixing matrix element |U_mu_h}|^2 for
radiatively decaying nu_h from K->mu nu_h (nu_h -> nu gamma) decay chain in the
following parameter region: 30MeV/c^2 < m_h < 80MeV/c^2; 10^{-11}sec < tau_h <
10^{-9}sec. For the whole region |U_{mu h}|^2 < 5 x 10^{-5} for Majorana type
of nu_h and | U_{\mu h}|^2 < 8 x 10^{-5} for the Dirac case.Comment: Published in Phys. Lett.
The color gauge invariance and a possible origin of a mass gap in QCD
The general scale parameter, having the dimensions of mass squared, is
dynamically generated in the QCD gluon sector. It is introduced through the
difference between the regularized full gluon self-energy and its value at some
finite point. It violates transversality of the full gluon self-energy. The
Slavnov-Taylor identity for the full gluon propagator, when it is given by the
corresponding equation of motion, is also violated by it. So in order to
maintain both transversality and the identity it should be disregarded from the
very beginning, i.e., put formally zero everywhere. However, we have shown how
to preserve the above-mentioned identity at non-zero mass squared parameter.
This allows one to establish the structure of the full gluon propagator when it
is explicitly present. Its contribution does not survive in the perturbation
theory regime when the gluon momentum goes to infinity. At the same time, its
contribution dominates the structure of the full gluon propagator when the
gluon momentum goes to zero. We have also proposed a method how to restore
transversality of the relevant gluon propagator in a gauge invariant way, while
keeping the mass squared parameter "alive".Comment: 20 pages, 1 figure, no tables, some final additional material is
