Direct test of time-reversal symmetry in the entangled neutral kaon system at a ϕ\phi-factory

We present a novel method to perform a direct T (time reversal) symmetry test in the neutral kaon system, independent of any CP and/or CPT symmetry tests. This is based on the comparison of suitable transition probabilities, where the required interchange of in out states for a given process is obtained exploiting the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlations of neutral kaon pairs produced at a $\phi$-factory. In the time distribution between the two decays, we compare a reference transition like the one defined by the time ordered decays $(\ell^-,\pi\pi)$ with the T -conjugated one defined by $(3\pi^0, \ell^+)$. With the use of this and other T conjugated comparisons, the KLOE-2 experiment at DA$\Phi$NE could make a significant test

A precise new KLOE measurement of ∣Fπ∣2|F_\pi|^2 with ISR events and determination of ππ\pi\pi contribution to aμa_\mu for 0.592<Mππ<0.9750.592 < M_{\pi\pi} < 0.975 GeV

The KLOE experiment at the DA$\Phi$NE $\phi$-factory has performed a new precise measurement of the pion form factor using Initial State Radiation events, with photons emitted at small polar angle. Results based on an integrated luminosity of 240 pb$^{-1}$ and extraction of the $\pi\pi$ contribution to $a_\mu$ in the mass range $0.35< M^2_{\pi\pi}<0.95$ GeV$^2$ are presented. The new value of $a^{\pi\pi}_\mu$ has smaller (30%) statistical and systematic error and is consistent with the KLOE published value (confirming the current disagreement between the standard model prediction for $a_\mu$ and the measured value).Comment: 5 pages, proceedings for the CIPANP 2009 conferenc

Vector meson decays from the Extended Chiral Quark Model

We derive the the effective lagrangian that describes the interactions among vector, axial-vector mesons and pseudoscalars starting from the extended chiral quark model (ECQM). The results for the low-energy constants of this effective lagrangian have a parametric resemblance with existing predictions based on the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model (except for some overall signs that we correct), but are numerically different. Therefore a precise measurement of these decay constants can shed some light on the way chiral symmetry breaking is modelled in QCD. Although most of the constants are poorly measured, comparison with phenomenology allows us to determine one of the parameters of the ECQM that could not be fully determined in previous analyses.Comment: 7 pages, revtex

Guida: A graphical user interface for optical data analysis of isolated pulsars

Studying pulsars from ground-based telescopes needs data analysis to be performed according to specific requirements. Because of the periodic behavior of these objects such requirements are expressed in terms of timing. In fact, several factors must be taken into account to correctly extract the period (frequency) and then light curves of pulsars. Until now, analysis software packages have been mainly developed for satellite data and are not completely suitable for optical observations from the ground. A software package called GUIDA has been developed to analyze optical photometric data recorded by the SiFAP instrument, completely conceived and realized at the Physics Department of La Sapienza-Università di Roma. This software package is capable of analyzing data relative to ground observations, including timing corrections, and of deriving corrected pulsar light curves

Form factor in K+ --> pi+ pi0 gamma: interference versus direct emission

We analyze the effect of a form factor in the magnetic contribution to K+ --> pi+ pi0 gamma. We emphasize how this can show up experimentally: in particular we try to explore the difference between a possible interference contribution and a form factor in the magnetic part.
