Characteristic of the snow cover for the Western Siberia territory

    Get PDF
The warming for the Siberian territory has more rapid growth, than for Northern Hemisphere, in general. The purpose of the work is the description of characteristics of a snow cover for the south-east territory of the Western Siberia, which is great importance for many branches of the economy of Siberia. Date of appearance of snow cover, duration of a steady snow cover, thickness were analyzed in present research. The presented results are: the increase in duration of the presence the snow cover is revealed. The reason is the increase in amount of precipitation during the winter period

The specifics of social work with victims of terrorism

The international situation in the modern world is characterized by instability, precariousness, and a high risk to the lives of people who may experience the negative consequences of emergencies arising from a variety of factors. Acts of terrorism belong to the phenomena of social emergencies of a criminal nature and currently represent one of the most widespread problems faced by 67% of modern developed and developing countries. Numerous terrorist acts compel heads of countries from around the world to come together and develop the most effective strategies to counter terrorism in their countries and the international community.

A polarity reversal in the large-scale magnetic field of the rapidly rotating Sun HD 190771

Aims. We investigate the long-term evolution of the large-scale photospheric magnetic field geometry of the solar-type star HD 190771. With fundamental parameters very close to those of the Sun except for a shorter rotation period of 8.8 d, HD 190771 provides us with a first insight into the specific impact of the rotation rate in the dynamo generation of magnetic fields in 1 MM_\odot stars. Methods. We use circularly polarized, high-resolution spectra obtained with the NARVAL spectropolarimeter (Observatoire du Pic du Midi, France) and compute cross-correlation line profiles with high signal-to-noise ratio to detect polarized Zeeman signatures. From three phase-resolved data sets collected during the summers of 2007, 2008, and 2009, we model the large-scale photospheric magnetic field of the star by means of Zeeman-Doppler imaging and follow its temporal evolution. Results. The comparison of the magnetic maps shows that a polarity reversal of the axisymmetric component of the large-scale magnetic field occurred between 2007 and 2008, this evolution being observed in both the poloidal and toroidal magnetic components. Between 2008 and 2009, another type of global evolution occured, characterized by a sharp decrease of the fraction of magnetic energy stored in the toroidal component. These changes were not accompanied by significant evolution in the total photospheric magnetic energy. Using our spectra to perform radial velocity measurements, we also detect a very low-mass stellar companion to HD 190771.Comment: Accepted by Astronomy and Astrophysics (Letter to the Editor

Electronic structure and luminescence properties of Ca2Ge7O16:Dy3+

The present report represents an overview of the results of a combined experimental-computational study of electronic structure, thermoluminescence (TL) and afterglow properties of Ca2Ge7O16:Dy3+ synthesized for the first time. Afterglow curves of Ca2Ge7O16:Dy3+ at 575 nm showing persistent luminescence have been described in Becquerel law. The TL measurements reveal at least one TL band at 326 K and two luminescence bands at 475 and 535 nm. Persistent luminescence in Ca2Ge7O16:Dy3+ originates from relatively shallow charge traps with high probability of charge carriers recapture. The model of energy processes, configurations of traps and luminescence centers has been proposed with the aid of ab initio calculations performed using the LCAO approximation and several hybrid functionals
