Objective: to analyze the knowledge of women in the Southeast region about breast cancer and its forms of early detection. Methods: a semi-structured questionnaire filled out via an online platform was adopted, whose variables were related to women's knowledge about breast cancer screening. Results: When assessing the knowledge about which exam is most used for screening in relation to the age variable, the most relevant result was that the majority of the interviewees, 57.5%, chose the correct option, that is, mammography. The option that addressed self-examination as the screening technique was also quite selected: among women aged 18 to 25 years and 35 to 45 years, it was, respectively, 31.2% and 28.9%. From 26 to 34 years old, this assertion was even more expressive, that is, 53.4% of the interviewees. When evaluating the participants' knowledge about the age group at which the first mammogram should be performed, in the general population, only 6.2% of the total participants selected the option from 50 to 69 years and in relation to the frequency only 16 .6% of the total number of interviewees selected the correct option according to the Ministry of Health. Conclusion: The data obtained show that most of the interviewees have doubts about the national protocols for the early detection of breast cancer. The efforts of preventive medicine suggest encouraging information through public policies that help educate the population about prevention and health promotion techniques

Model of study: A cross-sectional study was conducted. Objective: to evaluate the association between self-efficacy and socio-demographic and clinical variables in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Method: The sample was composed by 111 patients with T2DM in use of insulin, in primary health care units and outpatient setting in the southeast region of São Paulo state, Brazil. Sociodemographic data were gathered using validated questionnaire and clinical data were obtained from medical and health records. Self-efficacy was assessed by the Brazilian version of Insulin Management Diabetes Self-Efficacy Scale (IMDSES). The data were submitted to descriptive and comparative analyses using Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis to verify association between socio-demographic/clinical variables and self-efficacy. Results: Self-efficacy was associated with schooling level and presence of comorbidities, such as coronary artery disease, dyslipidemia, obesity, peripheral arterial disease and peripheral neuropathy. Conclusion: The findings provide support to the design some specifics interventions aimed at improving the selfefficacy of patients with T2DM on insulin use. Time reversal symmetric (TRS) invariant topological insulators (TIs) fullfil a paradigmatic role in the field of topological materials, standing at the origin of its development. Apart from TRS protected strong TIs, it was realized early on that more confounding weak topological insulators (WTI) exist. WTIs depend on translational symmetry and exhibit topological surface states only in certain directions making it significantly more difficult to match the experimental success of strong TIs. We here report on the discovery of a WTI state in RhBi2 that belongs to the optimal space group P[Formula: see text], which is the only space group where symmetry indicated eigenvalues enumerate all possible invariants due to absence of additional constraining crystalline symmetries. Our ARPES, DFT calculations, and effective model reveal topological surface states with saddle points that are located in the vicinity of a Dirac point resulting in a van Hove singularity (VHS) along the (100) direction close to the Fermi energy (EF). Due to the combination of exotic features, this material offers great potential as a material platform for novel quantum effects

Magnetic crystalline-symmetry-protected axion electrodynamics and field-tunable unpinned Dirac cones in EuIn2As2

Knowledge of magnetic symmetry is vital for exploiting nontrivial surface states of magnetic topological materials. EuIn2_{2}As2_{2} is an excellent example, as it is predicted to have collinear antiferromagnetic order where the magnetic moment direction determines either a topological-crystalline-insulator phase supporting axion electrodynamics or a higher-order-topological-insulator phase with chiral hinge states. Here, we use neutron diffraction, symmetry analysis, and density functional theory results to demonstrate that EuIn2_{2}As2_{2} actually exhibits low-symmetry helical antiferromagnetic order which makes it a stoichiometric magnetic topological-crystalline axion insulator protected by the combination of a 180^{\circ} rotation and time-reversal symmetries: C2×T=2C_{2}\times\mathcal{T}=2^{\prime}. Surfaces protected by 22^{\prime} are expected to have an exotic gapless Dirac cone which is unpinned to specific crystal momenta. All other surfaces have gapped Dirac cones and exhibit half-integer quantum anomalous Hall conductivity. We predict that the direction of a modest applied magnetic field of H1H\approx1 to 22 T can tune between gapless and gapped surface states.Comment: 49 pages, 26 figure

Despite the abundance of studies focused on how higher education institutions (HEIs) are implementing sustainable development (SD) in their educational programmes, there is a paucity of interdisciplinary studies exploring the role of technology, such as data science, in an SD context. Further research is thus needed to identify how SD is being deployed in higher education (HE), generating positive externalities for society and the environment. This study aims to address this research gap by exploring various ways in which data science may support university efforts towards SD. The methodology relied on a bibliometric analysis to understand and visualise the connections between data science and SD in HE, as well as reporting on selected case studies showing how data science may be deployed for creating SD impact in HE and in the community. The results from the bibliometric analysis unveil five research strands driving this field, and the case studies exemplify them. This study can be considered innovative since it follows previous research on artificial intelligence and SD. Moreover, the combination of bibliometric analysis and case studies provides an overview of trends, which may be useful to researchers and decision-makers who wish to explore the use of data science for SD in HEIs. Finally, the findings highlight how data science can be used in HEIs, combined with a framework developed to support further research into SD in HE
