Inter-firm cooperation and innovation: The role of strategic alliances

The relationship between inter-firm cooperation and downscaling, outsourcing and multiple firm strategic alliances is explored conceptually and with data from innovative firms. Downscaling is related to cooperative outsourcing as a significant influence shaping inter- firm relations. Embedding cooperative outsourcing in interfirm strategic alliances is advantageous, particularly for small and medium-size firms. Network structures within alliances are important to consider, however, since they hold the key not only to the division of labour within an alliance, but also to the longevity of the alliance, cooperation, and the relations of trust that pervade transactions.

En este trabajo se ha desarrollado una estación de monitorización meteorológica y de calidad del aire de la cual se puede acceder de forma remota. Este sistema puede medir diferentes gases y partículas que se consideran perjudícales para la salud y el medio ambiente, además serán almacenadas en la nube y visualizadas en una página web permitiendo identificar el estado de la calidad del aire

Una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre los costos del tratamiento para pacientes con Infarto Agudo de Miocardio

Objective: To analyze the costs treatment for patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) over the period from 2000 to 2016. Materials and methods: Systematic review of the literature on the costs of treatment for patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction in the period 2000-2016. We selected 30 scientific articles from the database Scielo, Medline, Redalyc, Springer Medizin and Lilacs, which met the inclusion criteria: articles published in Spanish, Portuguese or English from 2000 to 2016. To restrict the search of articles, we use the health descriptors: costs, myocardial infarction and cardiovascular, combining them with the Boolean operators ‘’AND’’, ‘’OR’’ and ‘’NOT’’. Of which, a sample of 11 articles was selected. Results: It was evidenced that a high percentage (63.6%) came from the Scielo database. According to the country of origin of the articles, it was identified that the highest percentage (36.4%) came from Colombia. Concerning the direct and indirect costs of patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) from an international perspective, the total estimated cost for Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) in 2011, including direct and indirect costs, is $1.26 million (US dollars are used throughout). In Colombia, the average cost of a case of AMI during the first five years after diagnosis is USD$8,786.9. Ambulatory management costs represent 54%. Conclusion: The costs of people with Acute Myocardial Infarction in both ambits, the international and national (Colombia) are significantly attributable by surgical interventions, treatment, hospital stay and post-diagnostic outpatient management

Estilos de vida saludables de niños, niñas y adolescentes de Barranquilla

Objetivo: Describir los estilos de vida saludables de niños, niñas y adolescentes de Barranquilla. Materiales y Métodos: Estudio descriptivo de corte transversal en 991 niños, niñas y adolescentes. Se evaluó la actividad física mediante los Cuestionarios de Actividad Física para Adolescentes y para niños escolares; se aplicó una encuesta que midió los conocimientos y prácticas de los escolares sobre salud bucal, lavado de manos, consumo de frutas y verduras y cuidado postural; la Lista de Chequeo “Mi Vida en la Escuela”, la cual evalúa los índices de bullying y agresión; y la inteligencia emocional a través dela escala TMMS-24. Resultados: El 65,4% se categorizaron como inactivos físicamente. Sólo el 14,7% de los estudiantes reconocen que el peso máximo del bolso es el 10% de su peso corporal; el 34,1% cambian el cepillo de dientes cada 3 meses como lo recomiendan los expertos y un 52,6% se cepillan lo realizan una vez al día; el 16,6% no se lavan las manos antes y después de ir al baño y 9,4% no lo hacen antes y después de las comidas; el 17,5% no tienen un buen consumo de verduras y frutas; y se encontró un Índice de bullying en el 55,6% de los participantes. Conclusión: Los anteriores resultados obligan a plantear intervenciones que incrementen las prácticas saludables en niños, niñas y adolescentes

Percepción de hermanos de niños con cáncer acerca del diagnóstico, tratamiento y dinámica familiar

La investigación que se propone a continuación se realizará con hermanos de los pacientes con diagnóstico oncológico pediátrico, en edades comprendidas entre los 7 a 17 años de edad, con el fin de identificar la percepción que tienen estos hermanos acerca del diagnóstico, el tratamiento, y demás procesos implicados en la experiencia del cáncer infantil al interior del núcleo familiar. Para la investigación se debe tener en cuenta el contexto familiar de cada uno de ellos, uno de los teóricos que utilizaremos es el concepto de ayuda social, introducido por House (1981) que habla sobre una fuente de ayuda generadora para facilitar la adaptación del hermano sano a los estresores derivados de la enfermedad. Se realizará un estudio de enfoque cualitativo, con un diseño de investigación fenomenológico, a través del cual se identificarán las diferentes experiencias subjetivas de los hermanos en el proceso, desde el diagnóstico hasta el momento actual. Los instrumentos para la recolección de la información serán la entrevista semiestructurada para los dos rangos de edad, (7 a 11 años y de 12 a 17 años) además del test proyectivo de la familia de Corman. Leishmaniasis cutánea, prevalencia, factores de riesgo y diagnóstico en Latinoamérica.

In Latin America, cutaneous leishmaniasis has been presenting in greater numbers, it is a neglected disease, many even do not know of its existence, or have no idea of ​​the aspects and characteristics of the disease. Its objective was to investigate Cutaneous Leishmaniasis, prevalence, risk factors and diagnosis in Latin America. For which it was based on a type of narrative, documentary and descriptive research. For the bibliographic search, information was collected from those articles, case studies, or reviews that have been published between the last 15 years, that is, from 2007 to 2022, articles in Spanish and English and be found in databases such as Scielo, Redalyc, PubMed and Google Scholar. The results showed that cutaneous leishmaniasis is endemic in Latin American countries and that despite this it is not taken into account when making decisions that can counteract the disease, leishmaniasis shows a prevalence of more than 25% in some Latin American countries. . Its risk factors are due to the socioeconomic conditions in which many inhabitants live, since they do not have the necessary economic resources to adapt their homes and can be more protected by sandflies. To obtain a definitive diagnosis of cutaneous leishmaniasis use laboratory techniques such as smear, Montenegro test and culture. It is concluded that cutaneous leishmaniasis especially affects the poorest populations since it is associated with malnutrition or poor housing conditions.En América Latina la leishmaniasis cutánea se ha ido presentando en mayor cantidad, es una enfermedad desentendida, muchos inclusos no conocen de su existencia, o no tienen idea de los aspectos y características de la enfermedad. Tuvo como objetivo Indagar sobre Leishmaniasis Cutánea, prevalencia, factores de riesgo y diagnóstico en Latinoamérica. Para lo cual se basó en un tipo de investigación narrativo, documental y descriptivo. Para la búsqueda bibliográfica se recabó información de aquellos artículos, estudios de casos, o revisiones que hayan sido publicados entre los últimos 15 años, es decir a partir del 2007 hasta 2022, artículos en idioma español e inglés y ser encontrados en base de datos como Scielo, Redalyc, PubMed y Google Académico. Los resultados demostraron que la leishmaniasis cutánea es endémica en los países de Latinoamérica y que pese a esto no es muy tomada en cuenta al momento de tomar decisiones que puedan contrarrestar la enfermedad, la leishmaniasis muestra una prevalencia del más del 25% en algunos países latinoamericanos. Sus factores de riesgo se deben a las condiciones socioeconómicas en los que viven muchos habitantes, puesto a que no tienen los recursos económicos necesarios para adecuar sus hogares y puedan ser más protegidos por los flebótomos. El obtener un diagnóstico definitivo de la leishmaniasis cutánea usan técnicas de laboratorio como el frotis, la prueba de Montenegro y el cultivo. Se concluye que la leishmaniasis cutánea afecta especialmente a las poblaciones más pobres ya que se asocia por la malnutrición o malas condiciones de vivienda
