Classification Framework and Structure-Activity-Relationship (SAR) of Tetracycline-Structure-Based Drugs

By studying the literature about Tetracyclines (TCs), it becomes clearly evident that TCs are very dynamic molecules. In some cases, their structure-activity-relationship (SAR) are known, especially against bacteria, while against other targets, they are virtually unknown. In other diverse yields of research, such as neurology, oncology and virology the utility and activity of the tetracyclines are being discovered and are also emerging as new technological fronts. The first aim of this paper is classify the compounds already used in therapy and prepare the schematic structure in which include the next generation of TCs. The aim of this work is introduce a new framework for the classification of old and new TCs, using a medicinal chemistry approach to the structure of that drugs. A fully documented Structure-Activity-Relationship (SAR) is presented with the analysis data of antibacterial and nonantibacterial (antifungal, antiviral and anticancer) tetracyclines. Lipophilicity of functional groups and conformations interchangeably are determining rules in biological activities of TCs.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, 2 schemes, 1 table; http://www.mdpi.com/2079-6382/1/1/

Plagiarism is a very frequent problem in all aspects of one occurring in school. There is often plagiarism on the content of the papers or assignments collected by the students. This is to support the decreasing creativity of students in giving ideas and personal opinions on the task given. To answer the above problems then this research using Rabin-Karp algorithm. Rabin-Karp algorithm is a string search algorithm that uses hashing to find one of a series of string patterns in text. Using this application, the user can compare document 1 with another document, which gives results in sentence similarity, then spelled out per word, followed by per hashing and is calculated from the average number of percentages. The test in this research is done by taking samples 50 times and in comparison between percentage with Rabin Karp algorithm and percentage with manual taking. Testing is done by comparing one document with another document. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded by using Rabin Karp Algorithm, which can be implemented in plagiarism application evidenced by the test using 50 test samples with 43 samples of success of 14.22%.Keywords: document , Rabin Karp Algorithm, Dice Sorensen Index, Plagiarism, sentence, wor

Insights into the capping and structure of MoS2 nanotubes as revealed by aberration-corrected STEM

    Get PDF
Aberration-corrected electron microscopy (STEM-HAADF) has been used for the first time to understand the capping, nature and structure of the MoS2 nanotubes. The MoS2 nanotubes that have been obtained have various unusual faceted caps presumably arising from the presence of topological defects. A detailed study of the capping of the nanotubes, along with identification that the MoS2 nanotubes are of the zigzag type have been carried out using both experimental and simulated STEM images. The presence of 3R-rhombohedral stacking of the MoS2 nanotubes has been identified

Knowledge and Understanding of the Forest Peoples and the Protection of Their Intangible and Material Heritage in the Context of the Technological Society

The multiple revolutions of the last 300 years have produced a technological development, that has materialized in a process of socioeconomic and cultural mutation which has ahead paths to be trodden that can promote benefits to humanity and the environment or lead to its destruction. The peoples of the forest, among them the indigenous, bring with them the knowledge that is at risk, both of disappearing and of being appropriate for purposes other than those currently used. This chapter sought, from an exploratory perspective and from a qualitative approach, to present some reflections to the problem involving which measures, and philosophical conceptions should guide the protection of knowledge of forest peoples and the biodiversity in which they are inserted. For that, aspects related to the current national and international regulatory framework directed to environmental protection were analyzed. In addition, it also analyzed aspects related to the economic value of biodiversity and knowledge of forest peoples, as well as the need to use new philosophical assumptions that integrate human ecology in its individual dimension, the environment, and social relations that involve human subjectivities, to present a new look, a new way to sociopolitical and legal treatment, the protection of these goods

Habits of research: five practical contributions to research training

The editorial, we would like to share with you five habits that have made our research careers very important existential moments in both the personal and collective dimensions, because each of the people who have contributed here with these editorial also does so from an important place in the scientific ecosystem. In this order, the reader will find in this editorial, which will take a little more space than the one that was written, a set of habits that we invite you to read in the key of, a researcher has as a habit: “Useselection criteria of a scientific journal”, “Implement technological tools for the management of research profiles”, “Search for scientific literature in research”, “The document of memories or exegesis as a habit in research creation” and “Write collective texts”

Path Integral Discussion for Smorodinsky-Winternitz Potentials: I.\ Two- and Three Dimensional Euclidean Space

Path integral formulations for the Smorodinsky-Winternitz potentials in two- and three-dimen\-sional Euclidean space are presented. We mention all coordinate systems which separate the Smorodinsky-Winternitz potentials and state the corresponding path integral formulations. Whereas in many coordinate systems an explicit path integral formulation is not possible, we list in all soluble cases the path integral evaluations explicitly in terms of the propagators and the spectral expansions into the wave-functions.Comment: LaTeX 60 pages, DESY 94-01
