Configuraciones de feminidad y masculinidad en jóvenes y su relación con el grado de percepción de violencia de género

La presente comunicación da cuenta de una investigación realizada el año 2017 que permitió identificar las configuraciones que jóvenes internalizan y actúan en base a ideas de masculinidad y feminidad e identificar si estas representaciones otorgarían mayor claridad para identificar conductas relacionadas con violencia de género. La investigación implicó dos estudios, estableciendo para ello una metodología mixta con estrategia de integración combinación. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 700 jóvenes a quienes se les aplicaron dos cuestionarios. El análisis de los datos se realizó con los programas NVIVO y SPPSS versión 21. Los resultados dan cuenta de que en los jóvenes hay cierta tensión entre dejar los mandatos tradicionales y adoptar nuevas formas de vivir su masculinidad. En las mujeres, lo femenino presenta un doble discurso; por un lado la idea de igualdad pero al mismo tiempo dificultad en abrir espacio en roles asociados a lo femenino (cuidado de otros, expresión afectiva, concepciones estéticas etc.)This communication reports an investigation carried out in 2017 that allowed us to identify the configurations that young people internalize and act on based on ideas of masculinity and femininity and identify if these representations would grant greater clarity to identify behaviors related to gender violence. The research involved two studies, establishing a mixed methodology with a combination integration strategy. The sample consisted of 700 young people who received two questionnaires. The analysis of the data was done with the NVIVO and SPPSS programs. The results show that in young people there is a tension between leaving traditional mandates and adopting new ways of living their masculinity. In women, the feminine presents a double discourse; On the one hand, the idea of equality but at the same time difficulty in opening space in roles associated with the feminine (caring for others, affective expression, aesthetic conceptions, among others.

Construcción de un cuestionario para identificar ideas de masculinidad y feminidad en jóvenes de Santiago de Chile. / Construction of a questionnaire to identify ideas of masculinity and femininity among young people in Chile

La presente investigación pretende conocer a través de la elaboración de un cuestionario, de qué forma los jóvenes de Chile configuran e integran sus ideas de masculinidad y feminidad; evaluar si las configuraciones de lo que ellos entienden por masculino o femenino posee discursos de tipo tradicionales, hegemónicos o vanguardistas o, por el contrario, evaluar si éstos son posibles de situar en un espacio de transición entre las posturas antes descritas. El estudio contempla dos etapas, la primera (y la que se explica a través de este artículo) es la elaboración de un cuestionario, la segunda alude a aplicar este instrumento a nivel nacional, para obtener resultados que puedan ser vinculados con mayor o menor relación a la violencia de género (la segunda etapa del estudio se encuentra aún en etapa de análisis). La metodología utilizada fue de tipo cualitativa, la técnica de recolección de información fue a través de grupos focales. Se utilizó el software NVIVO versión 11 para analizar categorías en base a los discursos entregados por los jóvenes, los que posteriormente fueron evaluados por jueces expertos y luego piloteado a lo largo del país. The present research aimed at knowing through the creation of a questionnaire how the young people of Chile shape and integrate their ideas of masculinity and femininity, evaluate if their configurations of what they understand by masculine or feminine have traditional type discourses, Hegemonic or avant-garde, or, on the contrary, to evaluate whether these are possible to place in a space of transition between the positions described above. The study contemplates two stages, the first one (and the one that is explained through this article) is the elaboration of a questionnaire, the second alludes to apply this instrument at the national level to obtain results that can be linked with more or less relation with Gender violence; The second stage of the study is still under analysis. The methodology used was of qualitative type. The technique of gathering information was through focus groups. NVIVO version 11 software was used to analyze categories based on discourses delivered by young people, which were subsequently evaluated by expert judges and later piloted throughout the country

Validity evidence of the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST) in Chile

El objetivo del estudio fue analizar la validez de la versión chilena de un instrumento para la identificación de diferentes niveles de riesgo asociado al consumo de alcohol, tabaco, marihuana y cocaína (Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test, ASSIST). Se evaluó la fiabilidad y consistencia del instrumento además de la validez concurrente y discriminante. La muestra fue de 400 usuarios de servicios de tratamiento drogas y alcohol ambulatorios y residenciales de la atención primaria de salud, comisarías y empresas. La consistencia interna obtenida fue alta (Alcohol α= .86. marihuana α= .84 y cocaína α= .90). El coeficiente de correlación intraclase (CCI) con la comparación test-retest fue buena para Alcohol (CCI = .66), marihuana (CCI = .74) y cocaína (CCI =.80). Se observó una buena correlación entre los puntajes del ASSIST el puntaje del AUDIT (r de Pearson = .85), ASI-Lite (r entre .66 y .83 para tabaco, alcohol, marihuana y cocaína) y SDS (r = .65). El punto de corte original para la detección del riesgo alto es de 27 puntos, sin embargo, considerando un mejor balance entre sensibilidad y especificidad se modificó ese corte a 21. Los resultados obtenidos en éste estudio demostraron las buenas propiedades psicométricas del ASSIST para la detección de distintos niveles de riesgo asociados al consumo de sustancias en población general de Chile.This study aims to psychometrically validate the Chilean version of the Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test ASSIST. Specifically, this study is interested in evaluating the reliability, consistency and concurrent and discriminant validity of this instrument. The sample was composed for a total of 400 people from four different settings: treatment centers (residential and ambulatories), primary health care, police stations and companies. The reliability of the ASSIST was high (α = .86 for Alcohol, α = .84 for marijuana and α = .90 for cocaine). The intra class correlation coefficient (ICC) with test-retest comparison was statistically significant for Alcohol (ICC = .66), marijuana (ICC = .74) and cocaine (ICC = .80). There were statistically significant correlations between the ASSIST and the AUDIT score (Pearson?s r = .85), the ASSIST and the ASI-Lite score (r between .66 and .83 for tobacco, alcohol, marijuana and cocaine), and the ASSIST and the SDS score (r = .65). The original cutoff point for high risk detection was 27 points, however, in order to have a better balance between sensitivity and specificity the cut was changed to 21 points. The ASSIST presents good psychometric properties and therefore is a reliable and valid instrument to be used as a mechanism to detect risk levels of substance use in the Chilean population.Fil: Soto Brandt, Gonzalo. Semblanza histórica de asociaciones de hombres de habla hispana que abogan por la igualdad, resignifican lo masculino y luchan contra la violencia de género

El presente artículo es un revisión bibliográfica que pretende introducir al lector en una secuencia de tipo histórica y contextual que facilite la comprensión de como las diferentes asociaciones de hombres de habla hispana, se han ido adscribiendo a los movimientos impulsados inicialmente por los grupos feministas en la lucha contra la violencia de género, la igualdad y la resignificación del concepto de masculinidad. Se entregarán nombres de asociaciones vigentes en España y América Latina, para que quien lo desee, pueda consultar los fundamentos de estos grupos.This article is a literature review that aims to introduce the reader to a sequence of historical and contextual to facilitate understanding of how the various associations of Hispanic men, have been seconding motions initially driven by feminist groups in the combating gender violence, equality and the redefinition of the concept of masculinity.
