    Rumput Kebar merupakan tanaman yang mengandung fitoestrogen yang memiliki efek yang sama seperti estrogen endogen yang diduga mampu meningkatkan kadar estrogen endogen dalam darah akibat dampak buruk radikal bebas berupa asap rokok. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak etanol Rumput kebar (Biophytum petersianum Klotzsch) terhadap lama siklus estrus tikus Rattus norvegicus terpapar asap rokok.Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental yaitu pola rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat kelompok perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan.Tikus kelompok negatif diberi makan secaran normal, kelompok kontrol positif diberi paparan asap rokok selama 28 hari, sedangkan tikus kelompok dosis ekstrak etanol rumput Kebar, diberi paparan asap rokok selama 28 hari, dan diberi ekstrak etanol rumput Kebar selama 28 hari. Pengambilan ulas vagina dilakukan pagi hari dengan rentang waktu 24 jam selama 28 hari. Perubahan epitel vagina diperiksa untuk menentukan fase siklus estrus menggunakan mikroskop. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)-SPSS versi 16,0 dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan dengan selang kepercayaan 95% (α=0.05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak etanol rumput Kebar mampu memperpanjang waktu siklus estrus pada dosis 0,135mg/ekor/hari akibat perpanjangan dari fase proestrus dan estrus

    Kota Ambon memiliki kawasan lindung yang ditetapkan untuk melindungi kelestarian lingkungan dan sangat sensitif terhadap dampak negatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan manusia dalam penggunaan lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola pengawasan kawasan lindung dalam bentuk data perubahan penutupan lahan pada 50 wilayah di Kota Ambon dengan menggunakan uji autokorelasi indeks Global Moran’s I dan Local Indicator of Spatial Association (LISA), selanjutnya melakukan peramalan pola spasial pada data perubahan penutupan lahan di tahun 2020. Penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat autokorelasi spasial dari perubahan penutupan lahan untuk kawasan lindung tetapi korelasi melemah dengan nilai indeks Moran’s I berubah dari 0,283362665 menjadi -0,042523054. Peramalan tahun 2020 menunjukkan terdapat autokorelasi spasial pada tingkat perubahan penutupan lahan yang berkorelasi negatif dengan nilai indeks Moran’s I -0,011095491

    Water quality parameters in pond include ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, BOD, DO, turbidity, temperature, and pH. It is important to know the concentration of each component to properly minimize the negative impacts of their disturbances for the overall water quality and the biota in it. This study aims to determine the concentration of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, BOD, DO, turbidity, temperature, and pH in freshwater fish ponds at the Central Fish Seed Office (BBIS) of Masni, Manokwari Regency, West Papua Province. The study was conducted in May 2017, representing the rainy season, and August 2017, representing the dry season. Water samples were taken from settling, rearing, hatchery, and brood ponds. Meanwhile, standard method was implemented in the component measurements. The study results show that the concentrations of ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and phosphate were 0.02-0.18 mg/L, 0.00-2.00 mg/L, 0.40-1.00 mg/L, and 1.01-21.83 mg/L, respectively. Furthermore, the concentrations of BOD and DO were 6.12-8.19 mg/L and 7.30-12.00 mg/L, respectively. Finally, the values ​​of turbidity, temperature, and pH were 0.40-9.99 NTU, 26-30°C and 7.7-8.5, respectively

    This study aimed to find the fish distribution in size, heavy - long, and factors condition. This research was doing in March until June 2015. The methods that used to measure are descriptive method and technique observation. The total of sample fish obtained as many as 500 tail. The measure ment of length distribution obtained for individuals male which ranges are 109 -303 mm and 125 – 299 for female. Based on the results of correlation analysis between the length and weight of the fish is all positive and very strong, female fish has a correlation coefficient value 0.6184 with coefficient of determination (R2) 0.3824 and male fish 0,5775 with coefficient of determination (R2) 0,3335. This means there is a close relationship between the weight and body length of the overpass. The result of regression test between the length and weight of the female flying fish is W = 0.0015L2.0321 and the male glider is W = 0.004327 L1.8417, followed by the test of value b (regression coefficient value) obtained b <3 which means the growth of fish pattern shown allometric negative. It means that the length of body rises faster than their weight. In term of factors condition Decapterus sp. Classified in less flattened fish

    Distribusi Ukuran dan Tingkat Kematangan Gonad Ikan Julung-Julung Hemiramphus lutkei (Valenciennes, 1847) yang diperdagangkan di Kabupaten Manokwari Papua Barat

    This study aims to determine the distribution of length to weight, sex ratio, gonad maturity level of julung fish (Hemiramphus lutkei) traded in Sanggeng and Borobudur Manokwari fish markets, West Papua. Research data collection was carried out for ± 1 month, namely February - March 2021, using a descriptive method. The number of fish samples collected was 542 fish. The results of the analysis of the size distribution of julung-julung fish during sampling for body length ranged from 219 – 355 mm for males and 215 -380 mm for females, with a body weight range of 27-53 grams for males and 30-65 grams. The sex ratio analysis of julung julung fish was obtained for males (321 fish) and females (221 fish) significantly different, which means this ratio deviated from the ideal value of 1:1. Based on the results of the analysis show that the value of X2 -count > X2 -table, then H0 is rejected, which means the sex ratio of male and female fish is not balanced from TKG I-VII for males and TKG II-VII for females and mostly found in TKG III conditions. The size of the male julung fish when the gonads first mature was estimated at a length of about 230-260 mm and the female at a size of 250-280 mm. The average Gonad Somatic Index (GSI) of female julung fish was 0.0876 and the standard error was 0.0061 with a GSI range of 0.0092 – 0.7574. The relation- ship between TKG and GSI shows that the increasing stage of fish gonad maturity will be followed by an increase in the value of the fish gonadal index

    The native fishermen are distributed in Manokwari coastal and have currently limited access to fisheries resource. This condition give vulnerable risk to potential utilization of fisheries resources to face vulnerable risk of local fishermen base on ecologycal aspect to take a wisely step to the problem. This research was conducted in April-September in 8 coastal district in Manokwari Regency. The result showed that native fishermen is medium vulnerable with value 0.57 to the number of catches, the composition of the fish and the fishing ground distance area. If this condition continues it will affect the existence of the status of local fishermen wich needs a partisanship in favor of the independence of local fishermen

    Pemanfaatan sumberdaya perikanan di perairan Kabupaten Fakfak, Papua Barat dilakukan olehnelayan lokal dan pendatang untuk mengumpulkan telur ikan terbang dan produk ikan pelagis dandemersal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan ikan terbang dan kapal penangkapikan lainnya, termasuk dimensi dan ukuran kapal, serta peralatan pendukung yang digunakandalam operasi penangkapan ikan untuk ikan terbang dan jenis ikan lainnya di perairan Fakfak.Penelitian ini dilakukan di daerah penangkapan ikan di perairan Fakfak dari Oktober hinggaNovember 2017. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan teknik observasidan wawancara terstruktur. Untuk dimensi dan ukuran kapal, selain berdasarkan data pemeriksaanfisik kapal, dilakukan pencatatan terhadap kondisi fisik kapal dan kelengkapan peralatan kapalpenangkap ikan. Nelayan di Kabupaten Fakfak tersebar di sembilan kecamatan tetapi yangdominan adalah Kecamatan Fakfak, Kokas dan Karas. Jumlah kapal pengumpul telur yangberoperasi adalah pada tahun 2017 terdapat 170 kapal yang memiliki panjang 10-20 meter, lebar1,9 hingga 2,8 meter dan kedalaman 0,7-1,5 meter, dan ukuran tonase rata-rata 10 GT. Alatpengumpul telur ikan terbang di Fakfak adalah rumpon hanyut yang disebut bale-bale, dengansebanyak 50-100 unit per kapal. Jenis alat tangkap lain untuk menangkap ikan pelagis adalah bagan(lift net), pancing ulur (hand line), pancing tonda (troll line), huhate (pole and line), rawai (minilong line), jaring insang (gill net), pukat cincin kecil (mini purse seine) dan sero (traps).     Economic Prospect Of Fishing Egg Flying for Coastal Communities in Fak Fak District, West Papua Province

    The economic value of the activity of catching eggs in the waters of the Fak Fak Regency of West Papua not only provides income for migrant fishermen from South Sulawesi but also for the people in the Fak Fak Regency who live in coastal areas. This study aims to provide an overview of the economic impact of flying egg fishing and the marketing channels of these flying fish eggs. Data collection was carried out in August and September 2017 in the coastal areas of Fak Fak and the Fak Fak Fishing Base and several other landing areas. Interview and questionnaire techniques used for data collection also used secondary data from various sources and previous research. The data collected was analyzed descriptively and displayed in graphical form and percentage to reveal facts based on field information. The results showed that in 2017 the production of flying fish eggs per ship ranged from 270 - 1,575 kg, with an average value of IDR 307,446,154. The fish egg marketing channel in Fakfak Regency has 3 main actors namely: producers (fishermen), collecting traders (Papalele) and inter-island traders (Makassar, Takalar). The percentage of costs provided by fly fishing include: (1) fuel and oil 28 %, (2) food supply 26 %, (3) coconut leaves (24 %), and (4) fishing permit (22 %). The economic benefits as an added value from the activity of catching flying fish eggs for the Fak Fak coastal community are the opening of other business opportunities such as coconut leaf providers, fuel and food ingredients providers, boarding or lodging owners, and grater eggs
