This paper presents the results obtained in doctoral research whose general objective was to make a diagnosis of the innovation environment of Petropolis, RJ, composed of incubator sand companies and linked companies, technological park and ecosystem actors. The focus of the research was the companies incubated and graduated in the LNCC Incubator and we sought to identify the difficulties of these actors in order to contribute to the proposition of public policies and actions to support innovative entrepreneurship. The results showed that the Technopole of the Imperial City is still immature, close to the initial phase of structuring its innovative environment. The actions practiced are still punctual and restricted the initial conditions of access to the incubation environment with few relationships with local actors, without or little participation in a knowledge network outside the territory. The study reinforces the success factors of the innovative environment listed by the literature of milieu innovateur, in which it is pointed out that there is a need for a strong structuring of knowledge (learning dynamics and cooperation between the actors).Este trabalho apresenta os resultados obtidos em pesquisa de doutorado cujo objetivo geral foi realizar um diagnóstico do ambiente de inovação de Petrópolis, RJ, composto de incubadora de empresas e empresas vinculadas, parque tecnológico e atores do ecossistema.
The authors present a cross-sectional study involving 61 patients with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (PD) who were consecutively examined and compared to a control group with 74 subjects. Only patients who fulfilled the standard diagnostic criteria for PD and whose brain magnetic resonance imaging was normal were included. The objective of the study was to evaluate the prevalence of inferior urinary tract symptoms in PD and to study the possible association between clinical factors to urinary dysfunction. ln the patient group, 39.3% presented urinary symptoms when compared to 10.8% in the control group. All symptomatic patients presented irritative symptoms. The most common irritative symptom PD was nocturia, followed by frequency and urinary incontinence. Around 25% of the patients presented functional obstructive symptoms determined by the disease. The most frequent obstructive symptom was incomplete emptying of the bladder. Only the age of the patients and control group were correlated with urinary dysfunction.
Evaluation of anxiety, depression and stress symptoms in men with prostate cancer during the preoperative period
Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men, being considered a cancer of the elderly because about three quarters of cases worldwide occur in individuals aged 65 and over. Anxiety, depression and stress are three emotional states understood as psychological morbidity factors, and they interfere with the patient's adaptation to the diagnosis. The present study aimed to identify anxiety, depression and stress levels in men with prostate cancer, describing sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and investigating whether the influence of such characteristics on the emotional symptoms of patients is significant. Cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach performed in two public hospitals with patients preoperatively for prostatectomy. Two instruments were used, one covering sociodemographic and clinical aspects of the patients, and the other was the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21)-Short Form. In the statistical analysis, the Pearson correlation test and the Mann-Whitney U test were used to evaluate the variables of interest, considering the significance level of 0.05. As a preliminary study, 31 patients were interviewed. The results indicated a predominant age of 60 years or older (72.4%), 71% of men had low level of education, and 51.6% did not have partner. The mean scores obtained in the DASS-21 were 2.84 (SD = 3.925) for depression; 3.68 (SD = 3.655) for anxiety; and 6.71 (SD = 6.92) for stress. The results revealed no significant correlation between these constructs and the variables of interest. However, a descriptive analysis of the data showed a minimal correlation of anxiety (r = 0.191) and stress (r = 0.149) with the numerical variable time since diagnosis. In conclusion, the results presented important questions related to prostate cancer diagnosis, involving patients' marital status, religion and cancer staging

Physical and pulmonary capacities of individuals with severe coronavirus disease after hospital discharge: A preliminary cross-sectional study based on cluster analysis
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to analyze the physical and pulmonary capacities of hospitalized patients with severe coronavirus disease and its correlation with the time of hospitalization and complications involved.
METHODS: A total of 54 patients, aged ≥18 years of both sexes, were evaluated 2-4 months after hospital discharge in São Paulo, Brazil. The physical characteristics analyzed were muscle strength, balance, flexibility, and pulmonary function. The K-means cluster algorithm was used to identify patients with similar physical and pulmonary capacities, related to the time of hospitalization.
RESULTS: Two clusters were derived using the K-means algorithm. Patients allocated in cluster 1 had fewer days of hospitalization, intensive care, and intubation than those in cluster 2, which reflected a better physical performance, strength, balance, and pulmonary condition, even 2-4 months after discharge. Days of hospitalization were inversely related to muscle strength, physical performance, and lung function: hand grip D (r=−0.28, p=0.04), Short Physical Performance Battery score (r=−0.28, p=0.03), and forced vital capacity (r=−0.29, p=0.03).
CONCLUSION: Patients with a longer hospitalization time and complications progressed with greater loss of physical and pulmonary capacities
Irradiation of microwaves at rotative cavity in the microbial inactivation of organic sludge from poultry slaughterhouse/Irradiação de microondas na cavidade rotativa na inativação microbiana de lodo orgânico de matadouro de aves
Microbial inactivation in organic waste is necessary to prevent environmental damage with impacts on vegetation and soil organisms. The objective of this research is process the organic sludge from poultry meats effluents in a microwave oven, aiming at microbial inactivation for its use as organic fertilizer. The sludge, previously dry at open-air, it was subjected to microwave action in the rotative cavity oven, ONDATEC® technology, at different temperatures and exposure time. Microbiological analysis was performed before and after treatment by the “Pour Plate” technique. The non-ionizing irradiation of the microwaves in the tested furnace is able to totally eliminate the CFU/g of the microorganisms present in the organic sludge from poultry slaughterhouse at 220ºC, it is showing process efficiency
