HOW DO THE GOVERNMENTS PROMOTE THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF COMPANIES? A MULTIPLE CASE STUDY

In this article, we investigated the companies' internationalization process from the perspective of government actions in selected countries, through multiple case studies and content analyses. Key findings pointed out that the governments investigated tend to foster and support programs for the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mostly family businesses, which in contrast, represent 96 percent of the SMEs in Brazil. The article provides a new perspective on the role of the governments in fostering greater participation in the internationalization process of companies in an ever-increasing globally integrated economy

Flowering traits in tetraploid Brachiaria ruziziensis breeding.

Tetraploid Brachiaria ruziziensis genotypes which reproduce sexually are essential for the breeding of other species of the Brachiaria genus which reproduce by apomixis. Aiming at studying the available phenotypic and genetic variability in the breeding population of B. ruziziensis, it was estimated the parameters heritability and genetic and phenotypic correlations between the traits associated with flowering, and the traits responsible for forage yield and nutritional quality. Seventeen traits in 1180 individuals from 59 open pollinated families were studied, and the data were analyzed by mixed model methods. Individuals with sparse flowering presented higher breeding values for total dry matter, yield, and total number of panicles per plant than individuals with early or late flowering. Considering breeding population differences on flowering behavior, on individual narrow sense heritability and on genetic correlations between flowering, agronomic quality and nutritional quality traits have to be considered in intrapopulation breeding and in intrapopulational recurrent selection

BRAZILIAN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ON INFORMATION SECURITY: A LITERATURE REVIEW

An extensive literature review on the organizational culture in Brazil is presented and compared to the information security culture, in the past decade. This article is provided scholars with a new perspective and taxonomy on the case study analysis, and implications of these findings are discussed, as part of the master’s thesis from one of the authors (Vieira, 2008). Interditos em Bom-Crioulo, de Adolfo Caminha: uma análise de discurso pornográfico

Este trabalho pretende identificar as manifestações de discurso pornográfico segundo Maingueneau (2010) no romance realista Bom-Crioulo (1895) do escritor Adolfo Caminha e analisar os textos através da identificação das suas formas de produção canônica, tolerada e interdita, perceber também como a pornografia nos rodeia mesmo que por vezes suavizada. Em concomitância pretende-se discutir o contexto histórico na época em que o livro foi publicado e o que acarretou sua categorização ao nível de obra marginalizada pela sociedade, assim também como a relevância do autor para a Literatura Cearense e a construção da identidade cearense na literatura através de teóricos como Candido (2010) e Marques (2018). Ao final deste estudo, poderemos ver a influência que a inserção de textos pornográficos possui dentro da Literatura e como isso auxiliou na marginalização de alguns autores brasileiros e sua retirada da classe mais prestigiada de obras brasileiras e cearenses

EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTS OF LIGHT INTENSITIES UPON THE INITIAL DEVELOPMENT OF LEUCENA ( Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit.)

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes intensidades luminosas, proporcionadas por sombreamento natural em \ue1rea de preserva\ue7\ue3o permanente, no desenvolvimento inicial de mudas de Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit. O experimento foi conduzido na \ue1rea de Capta\ue7\ue3o 1 do Servi\ue7o Aut\uf4nomo de \uc1gua e Esgoto (SAAE) de Marechal C\ue2ndido Rondon \u2013 PR, de 11 de setembro a 20 de novembro de 2007. As sementes, coletadas de \ue1rvores matrizes provenientes da regi\ue3o de Toledo-PR, foram submetidas \ue0 quebra de dorm\ueancia com \ue1gua a 80\ub0C e semeadas em n\ufamero de dez por vaso, estes foram distribu\ueddos na \ue1rea obedecendo ao delineamento inteiramente casualizado (DIC) com 13 tratamentos correspondentes \ue0s intensidades luminosas e 10 repeti\ue7\uf5es (vasos), totalizando 130 vasos. Ap\uf3s 10 e 20 dias da semeadura foram realizados desbastes, deixando-se 5 e 3 pl\ue2ntulas por vaso, respectivamente. Sessenta dias ap\uf3s a semeadura, as mudas foram coletadas para avalia\ue7\uf5es biom\ue9tricas como: di\ue2metro do caule, altura da planta, n\ufamero de folhas, \ue1rea foliar, massa seca da raiz, caule e folha. Os resultados foram analisados por meio de an\ue1lise de vari\ue2ncia seguida de teste F e an\ue1lise de regress\ue3o demonstrando existir uma rela\ue7\ue3o polinomial de quarta ordem dos par\ue2metros biom\ue9tricos com intensidade luminosa, em que a resposta da leucena foi mais significativa para intensidades iguais a 642 Lux e 2273 Lux, aproximadamente, que representam 0,90 e 3,19% da Irradi\ue2ncia Solar Global. Por se tratar de uma esp\ue9cie pioneira, a leucena tenderia a apresentar um comportamento de maior desenvolvimento quando submetida a maiores intensidades luminosas, no entanto, os resultados obtidos durante 60 dias em que as mudas foram avaliadas, indicam tamb\ue9m um bom desenvolvimento das mudas sob baixas intensidades luminosas, podendo ser considerada, nas condi\ue7\uf5es em que o experimento foi conduzido, uma esp\ue9cie secund\ue1ria. Desta forma, este resultado tamb\ue9m pode explicar o fato desta esp\ue9cie ser considerada invasora.The study objective was to evaluate the effects of light intensities upon the initial development of Leucaena leucocephala seedlings. The study was conducted inside a preservation area around a drinking water well used to supply Marechal C\ue2ndido Rondon residents from September 11th to November 20th, 2007. The seeds collected from mature leucaena trees located on an adjacent county (Toledo) went through break dormancy in vases, in water at 80 Celsius degrees and sown by using 10 units per vase. The vases were distributed in the area obeying an entirely randomized design with 13 light intensities (treatments) and 10 replications (vases), adding up to 130 vases. Five and two seedlings per vase were left after thinning executed 10 and 20 days after the sowing, respectively. Sixty days after the sowing, the seedlings were collected for the measurements of the stem diameter, the plant height, the number and area of leaves as well as the root, the stem and the leaf biomasses. Results indicated that there is a polynomial relationship of the fourth order between biometric parameters and light intensity; the highest significances were calculated for intensities of 643 and 2273 Lux indicating that leucaena can be considered pioneering and tolerant to direct sunlight
