Introduction: There is a dearth of information in the refereed literature regarding esthetics of CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses (CRDPs). The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the anterior denture teeth arrangement made with the medium-size anterior tooth mold template to CAD/CAM complete removable dental prostheses fabricated with bonded denture teeth and milled teeth. Material and methods: Poly-vinyl siloxane impression were made of an edentulous maxillary model and selected for use as the patient template. The edentulous model was mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator. Definitive impressions and jaw relation records were made according to the manufacturer’s protocol. Digital mock-ups of the denture tooth arrangement were received by the manufacturer and confirmed prior to processing. Ten CRDPs were generated; subgroups of 5 units were made and divided into 2 groups. One-half of the CRDPs were made by bonding manufactured denture teeth onto denture base milled from pre-polymerized PMMA pucks, while the other half were made by milling denture teeth directly. For comparison, a Canon 70D camera mounted on a tripod was used for photographic documentation. All photos were taken during the same day. Reference markers placed on the edentulous model were used to orient and measure photos using Photoshop CS4. Data was collected in the X-plane and the Y-plane and compared with the tooth mold template. Data were statistically analyzed by Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests (α=.05) Results: No statistical difference was found when CAD/CAM CRDPs milled and bonded were compared. The tooth mold template represented the position of the central incisors on the milled teeth and bonded teeth CRDPs. The inter-canine distance was found to be 5 mm narrower on the CRDPs than the tooth mold template. The canines on the CRDPs were 1 to 2 mm incisal when compared to the tooth mold template. Conclusions: Tooth arrangements in bonded and milled CAD/CAM CRDPs did not accurately reproduce the tooth mold template’s measurements in terms of intercanine distance and position. There was no significant difference between tooth position on the milled and bonded CAD/CAM CRDPs

Novel Ruthenium-Silver PTA-Based Polymers and Their Behavior in Water

New coordination polymers based on two metal-containing moieties Ru–Ag are synthesized: Na[RuCpX(PTA)-μ-(PTA)-1κP:2κ2N-AgX2]∞ (X = Cl (1), Br (2), I (3)). Characterization is performed by NMR, UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopy, optical-electron microscopy, and elemental analyses (C, H, N, S). Light scattering is employed to characterize the colloidal particles growth by polymer self-assembling. These structures are stable over a broad range of pH and exhibit thermally-driven swelling, thus resembling a typical thermosensitive hydrogel

The aim of this paper is to conceive the body as a dynamic structure which is constituently open to the world through the full action of feeling, as well as the way in which our psycho-organic structure re- configure itself, every time we face the situations we are exposed to. The body, thought in its radicalism, is not something which merely “is there”; it is, on the contrary, a system, open to the world through the activity of feeling. The feeling is the moment of mutual opening in which we set ourselves in the world and the world, on the other side shows itself to us; it is the moment and place of the event (enowning)

Background: Nurses can find people with advanced diseases or in their last days of life during their professional careers and in many different care settings. For this reason, they need to have at least a basic level of palliative care education since they are the professional cohort treating these patients in a very close way. This research aims to determine the level of knowledge in palliative care of Spanish nurses and establish any possible difference based on their experience and training in palliative care. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional design using survey methods (distributed an online questionnaire) aimed at Spanish registered nurses. A validated questionnaire (PCQN-SV) was used to determine the level of knowledge in palliative care; information on some variables to characterize the population was also collected (experience and education in palliative care, years of professional experience, academic level, and others). Uni and bivariate descriptive analyses were performed. A binary logistic regression model was also developed to identify those variables that influenced obtaining results higher than the population's average. (3) Results: Spanish nurses have a medium-low level of knowledge in palliative care, higher in those who have previous experience or education in this area. Statistically significant differences were also found according to the area in which their caring activity was developed. (4) Conclusions: It is necessary to implement strategies for the basic training of nursing professionals in palliative care to offer quality care to people in advanced stages of illnesses or at the end of their lives

En todo el artículo, sin embargo, resulta patente que son los profesores los que juegan en todo momento el protagonismo esencial de la cultura escolarThis paper has the aim of underlining the great importance that the culture of the school has in the control of possible conflicts between students in educational centres. With this intention, I analyze the negative and positive influence had in this subject by the manner of elaborating and utilizing curricular and organizational tools. Likewise, I study the great importance of the informal atmosphere latent in the daily school life. Finally, with the aim of enriching certain previous fundamental ideas, an example is mentioned on the climate of conflicts and coexistence that exists in contexts of multicultural schools. In the whole paper, it is clear that teachers are those who at any moment are the essential protagonists of school cultur

The new Latin American journalism reformulates now the chronic and the rol of informing, introducing innovative ways of narrative that updates the legacy of the local narrative aesthetics, as once happened with the publishing boom of Latin American novel that broke the hitherto dominant literary canon, rising a phenomenon of mass consumption and unprecedented reception in the cultural history of Spain and Latin America. Exploring the logic of textual mediation, associated with this process from a critique of the aesthetics of reception elements, provides interesting new conceptions of journalism in the global era. This article discusses how to understand the necessary continuity and breakdown of the boom in Latin American literature with the new generation of writers, in the passage of what some authors synthesized and summarized as the transition of magical realism to realism magical. This is a new generation of Latin American journalists who stands for a renewed narrative journalism and chronic, beyond the impact that supposed the new American journalism and providing new interpretive keys to rethink identity and Latin culture in the regional communication geopolitics
