Peculiarities of spectra of induced emission of polymethine dye solutions at low temperatures

    Get PDF
Results from studying the induced emission spectra with monochromatic excitation (superluminescent regime) within a temperature range of 300 K - 5.2 K are presented. The significant feature of such operations is the appearance of quasi-lines whose minimum width is realized at 4.2 K. The frequency distribution of the quasi-lines unambiguously characterizes the dye investigated. When interpreting these results, the idea of an inhomogeneous broadening of the polymethine dye spectra in the solution being studied experimentally was used for the first time. The quasi-lines observed are interpreted as a manifestation of the electron vibration structure of singlet states of a complex molecule

During recent years the trend to tighten competitiveness has been increasing globally almost in all industries, although before then it was absent in many countries and economic sectors. This article touches upon the main issues regarding the competitiveness of enriched curd products with prebiotic substances. On the basis of a consumer survey, the calculation of advantageous indicators was performed. According to the results of the ranking of quality indicators, the following maximum values were accepted: taste and smell, form and consistency, titratable acidity, amino acid composition, and vitamin and mineral composition. A comparative analysis of consumer qualities of curd products is given. According to the results of the assessment of the quality of curd products, it can be concluded that competitive advantage belongs to a curd product enriched with cedar oil cake, lactulose syrup and whey proteins. This is followed by the curd product enriched with cedar oil cake and lactulose syrup, and then the integral indicator in the curd sample enriched with cedar oil cake. The integral indicators of curd cream and curd cheese have low values: 0.16 and 0.145, respectively. Thus, the developed curd products enriched with prebiotic substances will be in demand in the modern market of curd products. Keywords: competitiveness, complex quality indicator, curd products, cedar oil cake, whey protein, lactulos

Prevalence and causes hypersensitivity of teeth in children and young 1 V. V. Gorokhovskiy, 2 S. V. Shpak 1State Establishment "The Institute of Stomatology and Maxillofacial Surgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine" 2Odessa National Medical University Abstract The aim: to study the prevalence and the main etiological factors of hyperesthesia in children and young adults. Materials and methods. We examined 260 people of both sexes, including children aged 13 - 18 y. o. and young adults aged 19 - 25 y. o., dwelling in different regions of Ukraine. All the surveys carried out a survey to establish the etiological factors of increased tooth sensitivity. It was also conducted clinical examination of dental hard tissues by generally accepted method to confirm hyperesthesia symptoms. Those surveyed were divided into 6 groups, depending on gender, age and place of residence or study. Results. Interviewed female patients in groups 1-3 index distribution of hyperesthesia 37.5%,47% and 39%, respectively, in group 4, the index reaches 58,3%, and 5 group is 81.6%,which is high in individuals 6 group index distribution of the hyperesthesia falls sharply to a minimum (29%). Conclusion. Hypersensitivity is a common and recurrent disease in children and young adults The main causes of hyperesthesia in children and young persons (under 25 years) is excessive consumption of juices, waters and sweet food with excessive content of sweet. Key words: etiology and prevalence of dental hyperesthesia

Aim: To describe the epidemiology and pathology of thyroid cancer in Ukraine, and to perform the molecular analysis of genetic alterations more frequently found to be associated to papillary carcinomas (PTC) in a selected group of PTC. Materials and Methods: Relationship between the thyroid cancer incidence and gender, age, and place of residence of subjects aged 0–18 years at the time of the Chernobyl accident (5427 subjects of thyroid cancer, among which 3996 (73.6%) were children aged 0 to 14 years at the time of the accident, and 1431 (26.3%) were adolescents aged 15 to 18 years was studied. Pathologically analyzed thyroid carcinomas were obtained from 640 patients (20–40 years old at the time of surgery and born before the Chernobyl accident), and from 90 patients (11–22 years old at the time of surgery and born after the accident). All patients were operated during 2006–2008. RET/PTC rearrangements and BRAFV600E mutation were analyzed in 35 cases of PTC. Results: A comparison between the thyroid cancer incidence rates in the 6 highest contaminated regions of Ukraine and in the other 21 regions shows the most significant difference between the rates for the last three years of follow-up, which confirms that a direct relationship is still present between the rise in thyroid cancer incidence and the post Chernobyl radiation exposure. Much lower incidence of thyroid cancer in subjects, who were born after the accident, additionally confirmed a direct relationship between the Chernobyl accident and thyroid cancer development at least in those who were aged up to 18 years at the time of the nuclear accident. Pathological results showed that with increasing latency the decrease has been noted in the percentage of PTC with solid structure, a decrease in invasive properties of tumors, as well as an increase in the percentage of PTC with papillary-follicular structure, encapsulated forms, and «small» carcinomas measuring up to 1 cm. Molecular-biological studies of PTC revealed more common RET/PTC1 and RET/PTC3 rearrangements (34.3% of cases), than BRAFV600E mutation (24%cases). Conclusion: After 22 years from the Chernobyl nuclear accident the number and incidence of thyroid cancer cases in Ukraine was steadily increased in the cohort of those who were children and adolescents at the time of the accident. Most common thyroid tumors (PTC) were characterized by significant changes in histological structure with increasing latency. PTC with any RET/PTC rearrangements had more aggressive behavior than BRAFV600E-positive tumors or PTC without gene alterations

Semi-analytical hybrid approach for modelling wave motion excited by a piezoelectric transducer in a laminate with multiple cracks

    Get PDF
A semi-analytical hybrid approach is presented here to simulate the dynamic behaviour of a multi-layered elastic waveguide with a system of delaminations and a piezoelectric transducer mounted on the surface of the waveguide. The proposed hybrid approach combines the advantages of the frequency domain spectral element method, which is applied to discretize a complex-shaped piezoelectric structure, and the boundary integral equation method employed to simulate wave propagation in multi-layered waveguide with multiple delaminations. The proposed method is applicable to the multi-parameter analysis of the phenomena related to elastic wave scattering and excitation. The advantages of the presented extended semi-analytical hybrid approach method along with the results of the parametric analysis of wave propagation in the considered structures are discussed

The content of social policy as a factor of economic development is disclosed. In the context of the growing role of human potential and the use of modern technologies, new forms of capital (intellectual, human, social) are acquiring special weight. Reproduction of these forms of capital is possible through an efficient national social policy. It is proved that only in conditions of an inclusive institutional mode of flexible, active and comprehensive social policy it is possible to accumulate national potential of both the level and the quality of life of population. A characterization of the main existing models of social policy is provided and the need to develop an own model of social policy is defined, which would take attention of the national peculiarities of development (economic, political, demographic) along with the mental specificity of population of the country. It is proved that only under such conditions social policy becomes a component of economic development. The directions of improvement of social policy in Ukraine are summarized
