    Terminologia do Censo 2014 em Angola

    A abordagem deste trabalho intitulado “Terminologia do Censo 2014 em Angola” tem como objectivo a elaboração de um Dicionário Terminológico que se enquadra no domínio de um projecto do Governo angolano, com vista à realização de um estudo sobre Comunicação Social na Administração Pública. Uma das instituições mais fulcrais dentro da Administração Pública é o Ministério do Planeamento e Território que, associado ao INE (Instituto Nacional de Estatística), são entidades responsáveis pela aplicação dos Censos. Ao longo do trabalho, depois de apresentar a Administração Pública e os seus órgãos auxiliares na aplicação do Censo, fizemos também uma abordagem da Comunicação Social angolana, dada a sua importância no contexto da cultura e da ligação que mantém com a sociedade na divulgação da informação. A terminologia, área central do nosso trabalho, tem um lugar fundamental, uma vez que, nos fundamentamos em teorias de vários autores recentes. Pretendemos apresentar também, critérios sobre a elaboração do dicionário terminológico. Assim, com este trabalho, pretendemos responder convenientemente aos desafios seguintes: Estudo dos principais documentos produzidos pelo Instituto Nacional de Estatística, afecto ao Ministério do Planeamento e Território. Desenvolvimento de uma abordagem terminológica do censo 2014 em Angola. Descrição das principais características da terminologia do Censo 2014. Análise das principais definições encontradas no corpus do Censo 2014. Concepção de um Dicionário terminológico do Censo de 2014.The approach of this study "Terminologia dos Censo 2014 em Angola" aims to create a Terminological Dictionary which responds a challenge of a Angolan Government Project in order to carrying out a study on Social Communication in the Public Administration. One of the most central institutions within the organic of the Public Administration is the Ministry of Planning and Territory which, in association with INE (National Statistics Institute), have the responsibility for the implementation of Census. Over the thesis, we start for presenting the organic of the Public Administration on Angola as both its specific ministries, we also made an approach to the Social Media of Angola, given its importance within the local culture and the trust relationship with society. The terminology, core of our work, gets a central place, with the reference of the most significant authors. We also intent to present the criteria that we consider central for the preparation of a Terminological Dictionary. So, with this work, we intended to reach the next scopes: - Study of the main documents produced by the INE; - Development of a Terminological approach to the Angola's Census 2014; - Description of the main terminology of the features of the Angola's Census 2014; - Analysis of the key definitions found in Angola's Census 2014 corpus; - Preparation of a Terminological Dictionary of the Angola's Census 2014

    The Role of Cytometry for Male Fertility Assessment in Toxicology

    Infertility is nowadays a major concern, affecting approximately 8–12% of the couples and the male factor accounts for about 50% of the cases. Occupational and/or environmental exposure to heavy metals and other pollutants is the main cause of male infertility. Lead, cadmium and chromium are heavy metals widely used in industry and quite persistent in the environment, raising major concerns over the possible effects on the reproductive health of workers and the general population. Sperm DNA integrity is essential for the accurate transmission of paternal genetic information, and normal sperm chromatin structure is important for sperm fertilizing ability. Flow cytometry can be to characterize multiple physical characteristics of the population of spermatozoa in the sperm, including sperm concentration, viability, mitochondrial mass and function, acrosome integrity, capacitation, membrane fluidity, DNA content and status, etc. This chapter elucidates the role of cytometry in the study of male fertility under toxicological insult by pollutants such as chromium, cadmium and lead. Some representative examples are presented using in vivo studies with rodents. In addition, complementary techniques to cytometry and future perspectives will be mentioned in an interdisciplinary point of view to gain knowledge on this subject

    Induced p-type semiconductivity in Mg-doped Nd2Zr2O7 pyrochlore system

    Heterovalent B-site MgO substitution in the Nd2Zr2O7-system (Nd2Zr2−xMgxO7−x) has been explored. The pyrochlores were synthesized by a polymeric sol-gel method and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy to determine structure, phase composition and microstructure. Impedance Spectroscopy (IS) was employed to study the electrical behavior of the ceramics over the ranges 200–800 °C and under pure N2 and O2. The XRD showed that the solid solution limit was x > 0.02 and all the materials show a cubic ̅ structure. The Raman results confirm the structural disorder created by the introduction of Mg2+ and the subsequent generation of oxygen vacancies. The IS data shows a dramatical increase of the oxide-ion conductivity when doping and that the conductivity depends strongly on the atmosphere, leading to p-type semiconductivity under pure O2 atmosphere. The present study highlights the use of heterovalent dopants to drastically increase the oxide-ion conductivity of pyrochlore-like materials

    FUNDAMENTOS DIDÁTICO-PEDAGÓGICOS NA FORMAÇÃO DOCENTE: APERITIVO OU IMPERATIVO?

    The article focuses on the importance of didactic-pedagogical foundations, and the dialogue with contemporary formative paradigms in teacher education. The study aimed to investigate the place of didactic-pedagogical foundations in teacher education in History and Pedagogy The theoretical foundation resulted from the dialogue with: Almeida (2012), Freire (1997), Fonseca (2003), Pimenta (2010), Pimenta, Anastasiou (2002), Pimenta, Ghedin (2005), Tardif (2014), Nóvoa (1995, 1999, 2017, 2019) and others. The production corpus resulted from bibliographic research and reflections generated in the study of the theme in focus. It discusses the importance of didactic-pedagogical foundations linked to paradigmatic changes in teacher education and how these changes reverberated in the education of History and Pedagogy teachers. The study envisioned that the didactic-pedagogical foundations have importance and strategic meanings in the constitution and consolidation of the teaching identity, since it enables a dialectical relationship between theory and practice in the formation and exercise of the teaching profession.O artigo tem como foco a importância dos fundamentos didático-pedagógicos e a interlocução com os paradigmas formativos contemporâneos na formação de professores. O estudo objetivou investigar o lugar dos fundamentos didático-pedagógicos na formação docente em História e em Pedagogia. A fundamentação teórica baseou-se nos estudos de Almeida (2012), Freire (1997), Fonseca (2003), Pimenta (2010), Pimenta e Anastasiou (2002), Pimenta e Ghedin (2005), Tardif (2014), Nóvoa (1995,1999, 2017, 2019) e outros.     Production and characterization of thin films based on soy protein isolate with kraft lignin and tannins obtained by casting

    In the present study, soy protein isolate (SPI) multifunctional bioplastics were prepared by casting, with the addition of tannins extracted from Stryphnodendron adstringens and kraft lignin. The films were obtained through biopolymer composites and blends method, prepared at three pHs (8.5, 9.5 and 10.5) and characterized by thermochemical studies, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, water vapor permeability (WVP), antioxidant activity, water contact angle, surface energy, wettability, and mechanical tests. The composites presented better results when compared to the blend and control films, respectively, in the polarity, hydrophobicity, WVP and especially in the antioxidant activity tests. Nevertheless, no significant difference between the samples was noticed in the thermochemical and spectroscopic studies. The results presented the potential of the composites to produce SPI biopolymers with tannins and kraft lignin, leading to the development of multifunctional materials as an alternative for sustainable packaging.En el presente estudio, se prepararon bioplásticos multifuncionales aislados de proteína de soja (SPI) mediante colada, con la adición de taninos extraídos de Stryphnodendron adstringens y lignina kraft. Las películas se obtuvieron mediante el método de biopolímeros compuestos y mezclas, preparadas a tres pHs (8.5, 9.5 y 10.5) y caracterizadas por estudios termoquímicos, espectroscopía infrarroja por transformada de Fourier, microscopía electrónica de barrido, permeabilidad al vapor de agua (WVP), actividad antioxidante, contacto con el agua. Ángulo, energía superficial, humectabilidad y ensayos mecánicos. Los composites presentaron mejores resultados cuando se compararon con las películas de mezcla y control, respectivamente, en las pruebas de polaridad, hidrofobicidad, WVP y especialmente en las pruebas de actividad antioxidante. Sin embargo, no se notó ninguna diferencia significativa entre las muestras en los estudios termoquímicos y espectroscópicos. Los resultados presentaron el potencial de los composites para producir biopolímeros SPI con taninos y lignina kraft, lo que llevó al desarrollo de materiales multifuncionales como alternativa para el envasado sostenible.No presente estudo, bioplásticos multifuncionais isolados de proteína de soja (SPI) foram preparados por vazamento, com adição de taninos extraídos de Stryphnodendron adstringens e lignina kraft. Os filmes foram obtidos pelo método de compósitos e blends de biopolímeros, preparados em três pHs (8,5, 9,5 e 10,5) e caracterizados por estudos termoquímicos, espectroscopia de infravermelho com transformada de Fourier, microscopia eletrônica de varredura, permeabilidade ao vapor de água (WVP), atividade antioxidante, contato com água ângulo, energia de superfície, molhabilidade e testes mecânicos. Os compósitos apresentaram melhores resultados quando comparados aos filmes blenda e controle, respectivamente, nos testes de polaridade, hidrofobicidade, WVP e principalmente nos testes de atividade antioxidante. No entanto, nenhuma diferença significativa entre as amostras foi observada nos estudos termoquímicos e espectroscópicos. Os resultados apresentaram o potencial dos compósitos em produzir biopolímeros SPI com taninos e lignina kraft, levando ao desenvolvimento de materiais multifuncionais como alternativa para embalagens sustentáveis

    Building a Open Source Framework for Virtual Medical Training

    This paper presents a framework to build medical training applications by using virtual reality and a tool that helps the class instantiation of this framework. The main purpose is to make easier the building of virtual reality applications in the medical training area, considering systems to simulate biopsy exams and make available deformation, collision detection, and stereoscopy functionalities. The instantiation of the classes allows quick implementation of the tools for such a purpose, thus reducing errors and offering low cost due to the use of open source tools. Using the instantiation tool, the process of building applications is fast and easy. Therefore, computer programmers can obtain an initial application and adapt it to their needs. This tool allows the user to include, delete, and edit parameters in the functionalities chosen as well as storing these parameters for future use. In order to verify the efficiency of the framework, some case studies are presented

    O significado da reconstituição da mama para mulher após mastectomia radical / The meaning of breast reconstitution for women after radical mastectomy

    A mama é para mulher e para sociedade o órgão parte da representação da feminilidade, do corpo da mulher, trazendo a imagem corporal da reprodução e da sexualidade. Portanto a mastectomia, é um procedimento que afeta a imagem e pode significar a amputação da sexualidade, desejo e atratividade. No entanto, a reconstituição da mama pode representar a possibilidade de recuperar sua a autoimagem, significando um novo começo. Este estudo teve como objetivo, compreender o significado para mulher da reconstituição mamaria após mastectomia por câncer de mama. Trata-se de um estudo do tipo descritivo, na qual os dados relacionados foram analisados segundo a abordagem qualitativa de inspiração fenomenológica. O estudo foi realizado no Hospital das Clínicas Samuel Libânio, com amostra de 15 mulheres mastectomizada, que estavam em processo de reconstituição da mama. O resultado foram a identificação das   unidades de significado agrupadas em 5 categorias de acordo com discurso de cada entrevistada, sendo: sentido de vida, novo começo, importância da aparência física, autoestima, não importando com a aparência. Percebe- se ao concluir a pesquisa, os discursos evidência que as mulheres sentem-se muito esperançosas com a reconstituição para voltarem a ter uma vida normal, uma vez que o fato de tirarem a mama está relacionado a mutilação de seu corpo e o procedimento resgata sua identidade como mulher e a sua identidade feminina. Elas desejaram a reconstrução da mama, por assim poderem voltar a se sentirem completas, trazendo o sentimento de felicidades, de poderem retornarem a rotina diária, e até se relacionarem com seus parceiros sem sentirem vergonha. 

    High Prevalence of Systemic Autoimmune Diseases in Patients with Menière's Disease

    BACKGROUND: Autoimmunity appears to be associated with the pathophysiology of Meniere's disease (MD), an inner ear disorder characterized by episodes of vertigo associated with hearing loss and tinnitus. However, the prevalence of autoimmune diseases (AD) in patients with MD has not been studied in individuals with uni or bilateral sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). METHODS AND FINDINGS: We estimated the prevalence of AD in 690 outpatients with MD with uni or bilateral SNHL from otoneurology clinics at six tertiary referral hospitals by using clinica criteria and an immune panel (lymphocyte populations, antinuclear antibodies, C3, C4 and proinflammatory cytokines TNFα, INFγ). The observed prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) was higher than expected for the general population (1.39 for RA, 0.87 for SLE and 0.70 for AS, respectively). Systemic AD were more frequently observed in patients with MD and diagnostic criteria for migraine than cases with MD and tension-type headache (p = 0.007). There were clinical differences between patients with uni or bilateral SNHL, but no differences were found in the immune profile. Multiple linear regression showed that changes in lymphocytes subpopulations were associated with hearing loss and persistence of vertigo, suggesting a role for the immune response in MD. CONCLUSIONS: Despite some limitations, MD displays an elevated prevalence of systemic AD such as RA, SLE and AS. This finding, which suggests an autoimmune background in a subset of patients with MD, has important implications for the treatment of MD

    Facet-dependent photocatalytic and antibacterial properties of a-Ag2WO4 crystals: combining experimental data and theoretical insights

    In this paper, we have combined the various experimental results and first-principles calculations with a new and interesting discussion to explain the photocatalytic and antibacterial activities of α-Ag2WO4 crystals, which were obtained using the microwave-hydrothermal (MH) method with anionic surfactants. The advantages of the insights gained through the present work are two-fold. First, the mechanism and origin of the photocatalytic and antibacterial activities can be rationalized. Second, this facile and controllable synthetic method is expected to encourage the synthesis of complex metal oxides with specific active facets, and these insights can contribute to the rational design of new materials for multifunctional applications. X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement analysis confirmed that all the crystals have an orthorhombic structure without deleterious phases. Ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy indicated the presence of intermediary energy levels and a variation in the optical band gap values (3.09–3.14 eV) with the crystal growth process. The geometry, electronic properties of the bulk, and surface energies of these crystals were evaluated using first-principles quantum mechanical calculations based on the density functional theory. The crystal shapes was experimentally and theoretically modeled based on Rietveld refinement data, emission scanning electron microscopy images, and Wulff construction. To obtain a wide variety of crystal shapes, the morphologies were gradually varied by tuning the surface chemistry, i.e., the relative stability of the faceted crystals. The growth mechanisms of different α-Ag2WO4 crystals and their facet-dependent photocatalytic and antibacterial performances were explored in details. The combination of experimental and theoretical data revealed the presence of (110) and (011) planes with high surface energies together with the disappearance of faces related to the (010)/(0[1 with combining macron]0) planes in α-Ag2WO4 crystals are key factors that can rationalize both the photocatalytic and antibacterial activities. The different activities may be attributed to the different number of unsaturated superficial Ag and W atoms capable of forming the main active adsorption sites.
