    The primary factor of high energy consumption in housing sector is caused by unconformity between architectural and landscape design. Housing design which has been developed and adopted by people now is more oriented towards building aspect and in current trends design, but lack of environmental and landscape aspect. The environment and landscape aspects has a profound influence as the results of this study. Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, the study results in the influence of landscape (site design) on energy saving in housing landscape unit is very significant (67%) compared to building design (33%). In this case, the plant is a ma-jor component that contribute to energy saving design (48.3%). The Criteria for each component are discussed specifically in this paper, both physically and visually

    The purposes of this research are to know the influence of woods specific gravity and nail diameter to reference design value in double shear timber connections with steel side plates nail on four species of Indonesian commercial wood according to various approximation analysis. Analysis is done to four values and it is compared with other research that has been done. This research result from testing which have done by Ziannita (2009) referred as approach of A; result of research of Sadiyo and Sriyanto (2009) and Mansur (2009) referred as approach of B; values referring at literature referred as approach of C and compressive-joint total load divided by nail amount and factor of safety referred as approach of D (Sadiyo and Sriyanto, 2009 and Mansur, 2009). Joint done by using four species of Indonesian commercial wood which is meranti merah (Shorea leprosula), mabang (Shorea pachyphylla), kempas (Koompassia malaccensis) and bangkirai (Shorea laevifolia). Nails that applied in this research are nail with diameter of 4.1 mm length of 10 cm, nail with diameter of 5.2 mm length of 12.5 cm and nail with diameter of 5.5 mm length of 15 cm. The calculation of this research is done according to National Design Specification for Wood Construction-2005. Analysis results indicate that wood specific gravity influence the strength of connection, excelsior wood specific gravity will produce high strength of connection also. This can be influenced by mechanical properties from wood such as maximum crushing strength. Bangkirai have higher specific gravity than three others wood but result approach of D shows that the connections assess reference design value which is lower compared with two other woods (kempas and mabang wood). Then, the bigger on nail diameter brings bigger strength of connection also, but this thing depends on the conditions from nail and quality of nail materials.     Effect of The Building Maintenance and Resource Management Through User Satisfaction of Maintenance

    PD Pasar Jaya manages 153 markets spread across Jakarta. Market building is a place of public services, in order to provide excellent service to the community, it is important to maintain it properly. Maintenance management of PD Pasar Jaya is still far from the expected. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of directly and indirectly from the condition of the building and maintenance resources to user satisfaction through maintenance management. The research method is by taking a sample of 14 buildings market, then use the check list building condition assessment visually and dissemination of survey questionnaires to 216 respondents, namely the market manager, the kiosk, and visitors. The questionnaire consisted of four variables: the condition of the building (X1), maintenance resources (X2), as an variable, independent maintenance management (Y) as variable, an intervening while user satisfaction (Z) as the dependent variable. Furthermore, assessment data is processed by the descriptive analysis of the building, while the questionnaire survey data processed by path analysis using linear regression with SPSS ver. 22. The results of assessment of 14 buildings is a market average of 78 of the highest value of 100, this means that the condition of the building is being with only minor damage. The total yield of the influence of the condition of the building (42.38%) and maintenance resources (25.01%) towards satisfaction of a user through maintenance management (1.26%) is 68.65%

    Analisis Layer System Bambu Laminasi Berdasarkan Penyebaran Kerapatan Ikatan Pembuluhnya

    Anatomically, bamboo is constructed from many types of cells. Vascular bundles are the cells which give the highest contribution to the bamboo strength, thus the density distribution of vascular bundles could be used as the main variable for analyzing the layer system of bamboo strip and laminated bamboo. The density of vascular bundles distribution decreases gradually from the outer to inner part in a regular manner which could be fitted by linear or nonlinear function. Ratio of modulus of elasticity (E) which widely used in transformed cross section (TCC) method for analyzing the layer system are substituted by ratio of density distribution of vascular bundles with asumption that both are highly correlated. The data in this study proved that there are high Pearson’s corellation between the theoretical and the empirical result, and the paired t-student test also showed both are not significantly different; thus, this new method could be applied in very good result. There are 3 models applied in this study, namely linear, logarithm, and power. Power model is the best among others since its theoretical gives the nearest estimation to the empirical measurement

    Up to now the main problem wich always appears in timber construction design is that structural timber is not available readily in the market. A machine stress rating system called PANTER is practical and suitable to the social, economical and technological conditions f the Indonesian way of life, trying to reduce the gap between theory (design) and practice (implementation) of timber construction through structural timber procurement from sawn timber commercial as well as lesser known species in the market. The objective of the study of the role of engineering is to establish a supply system for structural timber in the frame os supporting the realization of a rational timber construction practice. The methodology approach is to identify and study problems related to the producer (sawmill industry) and the construction community (Perumnas or private enterprise) through stress grading activity in the field and to gather secondary data, followed with description and comparative analysis. The result of the study showed that from 2700 pieces of lumber which had been stress graded, consisted of sizes of 5/7, 5/10 and 6/12 cm/cm, were in the range of structural grade TS-7 up to TS-25 (82 %) with the rest of 9 % rejects and only 9 % falls under high strength category (TS-27 up to TS-25). It also was concluded that the stresses in the members produced from the design loadings could be arranged such that each member can function according to a standard size as well as its strength. Optimation using structural timber was achieved through size and stress grade arrangements, such that the needed members of a structural component could be adjusted to the availability of stress grade composition which exist in the field

    The physical and mechanical properties of three species of bamboo, namely Dendrocalamus giganteus, Dendrocalamus asper, and Gigantochloa apus were investigated in relation to its vascular bundle pattern. As physical and mechanical properties, specific gravity, modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE), compressive strength parallel to grain and tension strength parallel to grain were determined, and the vascular bundle pattern was evaluated by method according to Grosser and Liese (1971). The relationship between physical and mechanical properties with the vessel bundle pattern was analyzed by regression with dummy variables. Pattern combination of vessel bundle was found on G. apus and D. asper, while D. giganteus has a single pattern of vessel bundle type. The difference of vascular bundle pattern did not contributed to the physical and mechanical properties of bamboo investigated, except for MOR. The difference species of bamboo and vertical position of samples contribute to the different value of compressive strength parallel to grain, whereas tension strength was only affected by bamboo specie
