The Brightest Ly Emitter: Pop III or Black Hole?
CR7 is the brightest emitter (LAE) known to date,
and spectroscopic follow-up by Sobral et al. (2015) suggests that CR7 might
host Population (Pop) III stars. We examine this interpretation using
cosmological hydrodynamical simulations. Several simulated galaxies show the
same "Pop III wave" pattern observed in CR7. However, to reproduce the extreme
CR7 /HeII1640 line luminosities () a
top-heavy IMF and a massive () PopIII burst with age
Myr are required. Assuming that the observed properties of and HeII emission are typical for Pop III, we predict that in the
COSMOS/UDS/SA22 fields, 14 out of the 30 LAEs at with should also host Pop III stars producing an
observable . As an alternate
explanation, we explore the possibility that CR7 is instead powered by
accretion onto a Direct Collapse Black Hole (DCBH). Our model predicts
, , and X-ray luminosities that are in agreement
with the observations. In any case, the observed properties of CR7 indicate
that this galaxy is most likely powered by sources formed from pristine gas. We
propose that further X-ray observations can distinguish between the two above

Introdução de cultivares precoces de arroz irrigado no municÃpio de Ji-Paraná-Rondônia.
Foram avaliadas algumas caracteristicas agronomicas de 23 cultivares de arroz de origem estrangeira. O experimento foi conduzido na base fisica da EMBRAPA-UEPAE Porto Velho, em Ouro Preto D'Oeste,RO. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso com 3 repeticoes. Os tratamentos se constituiram de 24 cultivares, sendo que 23 foram selecionadas de Viveiros Internacionaisde rendimento observado no ano de 1977, procedentes do I.R.R.I e semeados no CIAT, sendo utilizado como testemunha local a cultivar IAC-25. Resultados demostram que as cultivares que se destacaram como produtoras de graos foram: IR 9129-7-1 (4.444Kg/ha), IR 7149-35-2-3-2 (3,993 Kg/ha), MRC 603/303 (3.806 Kg/ha), IET 2881 (3.729 kg/ha), IET 4094 (CV. 156.2021) = 3694 Kg/ha, nao sendo observado acamamento entre esses materiais. A cultivar IAC-25 que serviu de testemunha, apresentou producao inferior a todos os materiais testados.A cultivar IR 9129-7-1, obteve maior producao com ciclo de 110 dias. Registrou-se ocorrencia de gafanhotos e grilos, mas nao comprometeu o rendimento do ensaio. As doencas que incidiram sobre o experimento nao causaram danos economicos, observou-se a ocorrencia de Mancha parda(Helminthosporium oryzae Breda de Haun) em todas as cultivares; e o aparecimento de Phythollosticta apenas na cultivar IR-7149-35-2-3-2.bitstream/item/56388/1/FOl-1020-0001.pd
Cultivares precoces com alternativa de dois cultivos de arroz de sequeiro por ano.
Uma das caracterÃsticas da agricultura nos últimos anos tem sido a corrida pela máxima produtividade e maiores lucros da empresa agrÃcola. o cultivo do arroz serqueiro no municÃpio de Porto Velho, constitui-se numa opção viável, se cultivado em escala comercial (grandes áreas), pelo volume de produção agregado. Sendo procedente o interesse dos agricultores em fazer dois cultivos, resolveu-se testar em substituição à cultivar IAC-47 (ciclo longo + ou - 120 dias), as cultivares IAC-25 e IAC-164 (ciclio média +ou- 100 dias) no sentido de avaliar o comportamento produtivo das mesmas.bitstream/item/56649/1/PA-15590001.pd
X-ray study of the double radio relic galaxy cluster CIZA J2242.8+5301
Content: We present the results from observations of the merging
cluster of galaxies CIZA J2242.8+5301 at =0.192. Aims. To study the physics
of gas heating and particle acceleration in cluster mergers, we investigated
the X-ray emission from CIZA J2242.8+5301, which hosts two giant radio relics
in the northern/southern part of the cluster. Methods. We analyzed data from
three-pointed Suzaku observations of CIZA J2242.8+5301 to derive the
temperature distribution in four different directions. Results: The
Intra-Cluster Medium (ICM) temperature shows a remarkable drop from
8.5 keV to 2.7 keV across the northern radio
relic. The temperature drop is consistent with a Mach number and a shock velocity
. We also confirm the
temperature drop across the southern radio relic. However, the ICM temperature
beyond this relic is much higher than beyond the northern one, which gives a
Mach number and shock velocity
. These results agree with
other systems showing a relationship between the radio relics and shock fronts
which are induced by merging activity. We compare the X-ray derived Mach
numbers with the radio derived Mach numbers from the radio spectral index under
the assumption of diffusive shock acceleration in the linear test particle
regime. For the northern radio relic, the Mach numbers derived from X-ray and
radio observations agree with each other. Based on the shock velocities, we
estimate that CIZA J2242.8+5301 is observed approximately 0.6 Gyr after core
passage. The magnetic field pressure at the northern relic is estimated to be

Impact of ActiGraph® cutoffs on time spent in moderate to vigorous physical activities in COPD
ActiGraphs® are often used to assess time in moderate to vigorous physical activities (MVPA) in people with COPD. Different cutoffs can be used to quantify MVPA. If they yield similar or different MVPA results is yet unknown. There are no cutoffs specifically developed, nor validated, for COPD, but Troiano and Freedson cutoffs are the most used. Recently, Santos-Lozano proposed a cutoff specific for older people, that has been used in COPD. This study aimed to explore MVPA results quantified with different cutoffs in COPD.
Participants wore the ActiGraph wGT3X for 7 days and data were included if they had used it for at least 8h (7am to 10pm) for 4 days (Choi algorithm for non-wear time). MVPA was estimated using the cutoffs from Troiano, Freedson and Santos-Lozano. Differences between cutoffs were explored with Friedman Test, followed by post-hoc comparisons.
107 people with COPD (79%♂; 68±8y; FEV1pp 49±17) were included. MVPA was affected by cutoffs (χ2(2)=194.56, p<0.001). Santos-Lozano cutoff yielded the highest MVPA estimates, followed by Freedson and Troiano cutoffs (median [Interquatile Range] = 57[30-90] vs 16[4-38] vs 8[2-22] (Fig.1). All cutoffs differed significantly from each other (p<0.001).
The cutoff selection affects MVPA estimates in people with COPD and may mislead the classification of these patients as physically (in)active. Assuming that the observed properties of Ly α and He ii emission are typical for Pop III, we predict that in the COSMOS/UDS/SA22 fields, 14 out of the 30 LAEs at z=6.6 with Lα>1043.3 erg s−1 should also host Pop III stars producing an observable . As an alternate explanation, we explore the possibility that CR7 is instead powered by accretion on to a direct collapse black hole. Our model predicts Lα, , and X-ray luminosities that are in agreement with the observations.
