Measurement of and Structure Functions in Low Region with the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector
The isoscalar structure functions and are measured as functions
of averaged over all permissible for the range of 6 to 28 GeV of
incident neutrino (anti-neutrino) energy at the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector.
The QCD analysis of structure function provides
MeV under the assumption of QCD
validity in the region of low . The corresponding value of the strong
interaction constant agrees with the
recent result of the CCFR collaboration and with the combined LEP/SLC result.Comment: 11 pages, 1 Postscript figure, LaTeX. Talk given at the 7th

Determination of the high-twist contribution to the structure function
We extract the high-twist contribution to the neutrino-nucleon structure
function from the analysis of the data collected by
the IHEP-JINR Neutrino Detector in the runs with the focused neutrino beams at
the IHEP 70 GeV proton synchrotron. The analysis is performed within the
infrared renormalon (IRR) model of high twists in order to extract the
normalization parameter of the model. From the NLO QCD fit to our data we
obtained the value of the IRR model normalization parameter
. We
also obtained from a similar fit to the CCFR data. The average of both results is

New data on OZI rule violation in bar{p}p annihilation at rest
The results of a measurement of the ratio R = Y(phi pi+ pi-) / Y(omega pi+
pi-) for antiproton annihilation at rest in a gaseous and in a liquid hydrogen
target are presented. It was found that the value of this ratio increases with
the decreasing of the dipion mass, which demonstrates the difference in the phi
and omega production mechanisms. An indication on the momentum transfer
dependence of the apparent OZI rule violation for phi production from the 3S1
initial state was found.Comment: 11 pages, 3 PostScript figures, submitted to Physics Letter
P-wave excited baryons from pion- and photo-induced hyperon production
We report evidence for , , ,
, , and , and find
indications that might have a companion state at 1970\,MeV. The
controversial is not seen. The evidence is derived from a
study of data on pion- and photo-induced hyperon production, but other data are
included as well. Most of the resonances reported here were found in the
Karlsruhe-Helsinki (KH84) and the Carnegie-Mellon (CM) analyses but were
challenged recently by the Data Analysis Center at GWU. Our analysis is
constrained by the energy independent scattering amplitudes from either
KH84 or GWU. The two amplitudes from KH84 or GWU, respectively, lead to
slightly different branching ratios of contributing resonances but the
debated resonances are required in both series of fits.Comment: 22 pages, 28 figures. Some additional sets of data are adde
Protonium annihilation into π0π0 at rest in a liquid hydrogen target
The annihilation frequency of the reaction p¯ p!p0p0 at rest in liquid hydrogen has been measured by the Obelix experiment by using different apparatus configurations and trigger conditions. The value obtained is f (p0p0, LH)5(2.860.1stat60.4syst)31024. With the same data samples, the p0h annihilation frequency has been determined to be f (p0h, LH)5(0.960.2stat60.1syst)31024. The results are discussed within the frame of the present experimental situation
Narrow Structure in the Excitation Function ofηPhotoproduction off the Neutron
The photoproduction of η mesons off nucleons bound in H2 and H3e has been measured in coincidence with recoil protons and recoil neutrons for incident photon energies from threshold up to 1.4 GeV. The experiments were performed at the Mainz MAMI accelerator, using the Glasgow tagged photon facility. Decay photons from the η→2γ and η→3π0 decays and the recoil nucleons were detected with an almost 4π electromagnetic calorimeter combining the Crystal Ball and TAPS detectors. The data from both targets are of excellent statistical quality and show a narrow structure in the excitation function of γn→nη. The results from the two measurements are consistent, taking into account the expected effects from nuclear Fermi motion. The best estimates for position and intrinsic width of the structure are W=(1670±5) MeV and Γ=(30±15) MeV. For the first time precise results for the angular dependence of this structure have been extracted
First measurement of helicity-dependent cross sections in π0η photoproduction from quasi-free nucleons
The helicity-dependent cross sections for the photoproduction of
pairs have been measured for the first time. The experiment was performed at
the tagged photon facility of the Mainz MAMI accelerator with the combined
Crystal Ball - TAPS calorimeter. The experiment used a polarized deuterated
butanol target and a circularly polarized photon beam. This arrangement allowed
the (photon and target spin antiparallel) and
(parallel spins) components to be measured for quasi-free production of
pairs off protons and neutrons. The main finding is that the two
helicity components contribute identically, within uncertainties, for both
participant protons and neutrons. The absolute couplings for protons and
neutrons are also identical. This means that nucleon resonances contributing to
this reaction in the investigated energy range have almost equal
electromagnetic helicity couplings, and .
Identical couplings for protons and neutrons are typical for
resonances and identical and components are only possible
for states, which constrains possible contributions of nucleon
resonances.Comment: accepted for publication in Phys. Lett.
First measurement of the polarization observable E and helicity-dependent cross sections in single π0 photoproduction from quasi-free nucleons
The double-polarization observable E and the helicity-dependent cross sections σ1/2 and σ3/2 have been measured for the first time for single π0 photoproduction from protons and neutrons bound in the deuteron at the electron accelerator facility MAMI in Mainz, Germany. The experiment used a circularly polarized photon beam and a longitudinally polarized deuterated butanol target. The reaction products, recoil nucleons and decay photons from the π0 meson were detected with the Crystal Ball and TAPS electromagnetic calorimeters. Effects from nuclear Fermi motion were removed by a kinematic reconstruction of the π0N final state. A comparison to data measured with a free proton target showed that the absolute scale of the cross sections is significantly modified by nuclear final-state interaction (FSI) effects. However, there is no significant effect on the asymmetry E since the σ1/2 and σ3/2 components appear to be influenced in a similar way. Thus, the best approximation of the two helicity-dependent cross sections for the free neutron is obtained by combining the asymmetry E measured with quasi-free neutrons and the unpolarized cross section corrected for FSI effects under the assumption that the FSI effects are similar for neutrons and protons
