Deference to the Plaintiff in Forum Non Conveniens Cases
This Note analyzes several cases in an effort to understand why, based on each case’s unique circumstances, the plaintiff’s choice of forum received a particular level of deference. This Note then produces a synthesized list of factors that alter the level of deference a plaintiff’s choice of forum receives under forum non conveniens analysis. An understanding of these factors provides increased predictability as to when a plaintiff’s choice of forum might receive heightened deference under this common law doctrine
Update on Partial-Wave Analysis
Partial-wave analysis is one step in a process connecting experimental
measurements to the N* states we are studying. Progress has been made in the
area of `model-independent' analysis. However, more model-dependent approaches
are needed to cover broader energy ranges. An example of the problems faced by

Duration of heart failure and the risk of atrial fibrillation: different mechanisms at different times?
Chronic heart failure increases the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF), with the prevalence of AF paralleling the severity of heart failure.1 Factors that underlie this increased susceptibility to AF may include electrical, structural, and neurohumoral changes.2 In AF, it is recognized that atrial electrophysiological remodelling occurs and contributes to the perpetuation of the arrhythmia, most notably the decrease of effective refractory period (ERP) which predisposes to re-entry by shortening the wavelength.
