Helicopter flap/lag energy exchange study
This paper presents a study on the energy exchange taking place on articulated helicopter main rotor blades. The blades are hinged, and the flap/lag modes are highly coupled. These dynamical couplings existing between the two degrees of freedom are clearly identifiable as the nonlinear terms that appear in the equations of motion are key to understand the energy exchange process. The work here conducted is carried out using VehicleSim, a multibody software specialized in modelling mechanical systems composed by rigid bodies. A spring pendulum system is also studied in order to examine its nonlinear behaviour and to establish existing analogies with the rotor blade nonlinear dynamics. The nonlinear couplings of both systems are compared to each other, and commensurability condition is analysed by means of short-time Fourier transform methods as well as the flap and lag amplitudes spectrum. Simulations are carried out, and the obtained results show clear analogies in the energy exchange process taking place in both systems. The stability of these modes is also studied using Poincare’ map method

Helicopter modelling and study of the accelerated rotor
This work presents a helicopter dynamic model that captures the fuselage vibrations for an accelerated main rotor. Some rotor parameters are modified with the purpose of study their impact on the rotorcraft. Being this, a tool that allows to predict vibrations on the helicopter. The rotorcraft model has been built up by using VehicleSim, software specialized in modelling mechanical systems composed by rigid bodies. The rotors are articulated, the main rotor takes into account flap, lag and feather degrees of freedom for each of the equispaced blades and their dynamic couplings. The dynamic performance and the control action are embedded in a single code, thereby VehicleSim does not require external connection to other software package. This generates some advantages such as to reduce the compilation time. The control methodology makes use of PID controllers (Proportional, Integral, Derivative), which allows to use VehicleSim commands exclusively. The state space matrices have been obtained in order to analysis the uncoupled main rotor flap and lag modes. The detection of vibrations from the offset flap hinge as well as the lag hinge are not straightforward tasks and this helicopter model provides an accurate tool to study these. A short time Fourier transform processing is used to analysis the vibrations and these have shown to agree with the expected behaviour

Rotorcraft Fuselage/Main Rotor Coupling Dynamics Modelling and Analysis
This work considers the fuselage/main rotor coupling nonlinear dynamics under a modal analysis study. The authors provide an advanced application and study of a simulation model that captures the complex fuselage/main rotor dynamics and validate it with previous existing theories. The model has been built up by using VehicleSim, software specialized in modelling mechanical systems composed by rigid bodies. The rotors are articulated, the main rotor considers flap, lag and feather degrees of freedom for each of the equispaced blades and their dynamic couplings. Once the validation is made, the main rotor angular speed is defined as time varying function such that heterodyning behaviour can be detected in the fuselage. The detection of this behaviour is not a simple task and this helicopter model provides an accurate system for its analysis using a short time Fourier transform processing
Genetic algorithms for the scheduling in additive manufacturing
[EN] Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are introduced to tackle the packing problem. The scheduling in Additive Manufacturing (AM) is also dealt with to set up a managed market, called “Lonja3D”. This will enable to determine an alternative tool through the combinatorial auctions, wherein the customers will be able to purchase the products at the best prices from the manufacturers. Detection of antibodies against Aujeszky´s disease virus in low level management pig farms in Lima, Peru
El objetivo del presente estudio fue detectar anticuerpos contra el virus de la enfermedad de Aujeszky (EA) en porcinos de crianzas semi-tecnificadas de Lima metropolitana. Se colectaron 463 muestras de sangre de cerdos sin distinción de sexo y mayormente entre 130 a 150 días de edad, aparentemente normales, en un centro de beneficio de Lima, Perú. Los cerdos procedían de 13 distritos de Lima Metropolitana. Se detectaron anticuerpos neutralizantes contra el virus de la EA mediante la prueba de neutralización viral. Todas las muestras resultaron negativas a anticuerpos contra el virus de la EA.The aim of this study was to detect antibodies against the virus of Aujeszky’s disease (ADV) in low level management pig farms in Lima, Peru. Blood samples were collected (n=463) from apparently healthy pigs, regardless of sex and mostly between 130 to 150 days old. The animals were from 13 districts of Metropolitan Lima. Neutralizing antibodies against ADV were analysed by the virus neutralization test. All samples resulted negative to antibodies against ADV

Helicopter nonlinear aerodynamics modelling using VehicleSim
This work describes a model developed to analyze the aerodynamic loads on a helicopter model on conventional configuration implemented with VehicleSim, a multibody software specialized in modelling mechanical systems composed by rigid bodies. The rotors are articulated and the main rotor implementation takes into account flap, lag and feather degrees of freedom for each of the equispaced blades as well as their dynamic couplings. This article presents an aerodynamic model that allows to simulate hover, climb, descent and forward flight as well as trajectories under the action of several aerodynamics loads. The aerodynamic model has been built up using blade element theory. All the dynamics, aerodynamic forces and control action are embedded in a single code, being this an advantage as the compilation time is greatly reduced. The software used in this work, VehicleSim does not need external connection to other software. This new tool may be used to develop robust control methods. The nonlinear equations of the system which can be very complex, are obtained, in particular, this article presents the equations for flap and lag degrees of freedom in hover flight. The control approach used in here consists of PID controllers (proportional, integral, derivative), which allow to use VehicleSim command exclusively to simulate several helicopter flight conditions. Dietary patterns and diet quality during pregnancy and low birthweight: The PRINCESA cohort
Although the isolated effects of several specific nutrients have been examined, little is known about the relationship between overall maternal diet during pregnancy and fetal development and growth. This study evaluates the association between maternal diet and low birthweight (LBW) in 660 pregnant women from the Pregnancy Research on Inflammation, Nutrition,& City Environment: Systematic Analyses (PRINCESA) cohort in Mexico City. Using prior day dietary intake reported at multiple prenatal visits, diet was assessed prospectively using a priori (Maternal Diet Quality Score [MDQS]) and a posteriori (dietary patterns extracted by factor analysis) approaches. The association between maternal diet and LBW was investigated by logistic regression, controlling for confounders. Adherence to recommended guidelines (higher MDQS) was associated with a reduced risk of LBW (OR, 0.22; 95% confidence interval [0.06, 0.75], P < .05, N = 49) compared with the lowest adherence category (reference group), controlling for maternal age, education, height, marital status, pre- pregnancy body mass index, parity, energy intake, gestational weight gain, and preterm versus term birth; a posteriori dietary patterns were not associated with LBW risk. Higher adherence to MDQS was associated with a lower risk of having an LBW baby in this sample. El problema de investigaci?n fue analizar qu? conocimientos sobre derechos sexuales y reproductivos poseen los estudiantes en etapa de adolescencia de la Instituci?n Educativa Julio Ernesto Andrade. Dicho an?lisis ayudar? a dise?ar estrategias de mejora en la aplicaci?n de talleres, charlas etc. Que favorezcan a los estudiantes y se puedan prevenir situaciones como lo son embarazos adolescentes, que conllevan a una deserci?n escolar etc. Y que afectan a la poblaci?n estudiantil. La investigaci?n se realiz? en base a la metodolog?a cualitativa y descriptiva, tomando como instrumento la encuesta, se analizan dos variables como lo son la adolescencia y conocimiento sobre derechos sexuales. Lo anterior favoreci? para la formulaci?n de conclusiones, las cuales pretenden ayudar a la instituci?n a tener una visi?n general de las falencias para mejorar y/o fortalecer los conocimientos en derechos sexuales y reproductivos
Noncontact Optical Fiber Sensor for Measuring the Refractive Index of Liquids
A noncontact optical fiber sensor for measuring the refractive index of transparent liquids is proposed. It operates by calculating the path of a focused laser beam at 635 nm that travels across the boundaries of a liquid sample. The optical power Fresnel reflections are detected and, subsequently, the refractive index is determined as the ratio between the traveled beam paths when the liquid is deposited versus a reference without the liquid sample. Additionally, a mathematical analysis of the geometrical case is included. The theoretical data from our sensor are in good agreement with the experimental results. The resolution achieved by the sensor is better than 10−3 RIU

Vibration reduction for vision systems on board unmanned aerial vehicles using a neuro-fuzzy controller
In this paper, an intelligent control approach based on neuro-fuzzy systems performance is presented, with the objective of counteracting the vibrations that affect the low-cost vision platform onboard an unmanned aerial system of rotating nature. A scaled dynamical model of a helicopter is used to simulate vibrations on its fuselage. The impact of these vibrations on the low-cost vision system will be assessed and an intelligent control approach will be derived in order to reduce its detrimental influence. Different trials that consider a neuro-fuzzy approach as a fundamental part of an intelligent semi-active control strategy have been carried out. Satisfactory results have been achieved compared to those obtained by means of vibration reduction passive techniques
