Relación entre Antecedente Empresarial Familiar y el Emprendimiento de Micro y Pequeñas Empresas

The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between the family business background and the entrepreneurship of micro and small enterprises. A total census of 123 companies registered in the Business Incubator of the Facultad de Contaduría y Administración of the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in Chihuahua, Mexico, was carried out. The research was descriptive and exploratory; using the analyticalsynthetic method, with a transectional design, performed between April and June 2016. The dependent variable was the generation of companies and the independent variable was to have a family business background. The main results indicate that the majority of entrepreneurs with companies in operation, have a family business background. However, it is not decisive to not have a relative with a company, and other factors can also influence the entrepreneurship of new companies, among which may be the support provided by the business incubator

Relationship Between Gender and Entrepreneurship of Small and Medium-Sized Companies in Mexico

This paper focuses on determining the relationship between gender and the entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized companies in Mexico. The research was quantitative, and it uses the database of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography. The analysis was conducted during the period from October 2017 to February 2018. The variables considered were: independent variable such as gender; dependent variables, entrepreneurship by economy sector (manufacturing, commerce and private non-financial services); and control variables, hourly income and average schooling. Descriptive statistics, linear regression models, analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation coefficients were obtained. The main results indicate that there are differences related to gender which is based on the type of small and medium companies undertaken by economy sector in Mexico. Women undertake more in the trade sector, while men also undertake more in the manufacturing sector. Based on the female gender where lower average schooling is, there is a greater entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized companies. On the other hand, considering the male gender where higher average schooling is, there is more entrepreneurship in the commerce sector. The variation in the entrepreneurship of small and medium-sized companies is 43% higher than in the female gender. Also, in both genders, the higher the schooling is, the higher would be the income

Se realizó un estudio con el objetivo de determinar los principales factores que afectan el desarrollo del proceso docente educativo en la rotación de cirugía en el cuarto año de la carrera de Medicina de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río en el curso 2006-2007. Se seleccionó una muestra al azar de 55 estudiantes que representan el 85,9 % de la matrícula del semestre, a los cuales se les aplicó una encuesta que incluía 9 variables referidas a: cumplimiento de tiempos electivos y exámenes de premio, actualización científica de los contenidos y vías de actualización, papel de las actividades prácticas y la educación en el trabajo en la adquisición de habilidades, disponibilidad de literatura docente, así como valoración integral del proceso. Los datos fueron procesados a través del método porcentual aritmético utilizando además análisis de correlación para variables independientes (estadígrafo P de Pearson), y la prueba de comparación de dos y K- proporciones de grupos independientes. Se demostró que aunque existen deficiencias con el desarrollo del proceso docente, el grado de satisfacción con elmismo es adecuado. A sample of 55 students was selected at random accounting for 85,9 % of the total. The were surveyed including 9 variables related to the fulfillment of optional times and rewarding examinations, scientific updating of contents and update means, the role of practical activities and the education for developing skills, the availability of teaching literature as well as the whole evaluation of the process. Data were processed using the arithmetic percentage method using the co relational study as the comparison test with two and K proportions in non-dependant groups. Although deficiencies in the teaching process development exist, it was demonstrated satisfaction is appropriate. Docencia en cirugía general. Una propuesta para su perfeccionamiento Teaching in General Surgery: a proposal for its training

La metodología propia del diseño curricular para la formación de recursos humanos de la salud, se fundamenta en el enfoque histórico cultural y por tanto tiene en cuenta el aprendizaje basado en el desarrollo social de cada etapa histórico-social concreta. La Educación Superior en Cuba marcha acorde con el desarrollo de la ciencia contemporánea, esto hace que indiscutiblemente la entrada al tercer milenio tenga que estar encaminada a la formación de profesionales con una elevada calificación científico- técnica, lo cual implica que los curriculum tengan un alto nivel científico y respondan a los intereses de la sociedad. La metodología en sí misma, tiene en cuenta como punto de partida los problemas de salud y el modo de actuación profesional, este último como objetivo supremo. No obstante lo anterior, el hecho del desarrollo científico técnico acelerado en las ciencias, como es el caso de la Cirugía General, marca una nueva pauta ya que los objetivos supremos dejan de ser la esencialidad al ser superados por los contenidos, o lo que es lo mismo dejan de ser la categoría rectora obligando a nuevos diseños, como es el caso que nos ocupa. In Cuba, Higher Education goes on according to the development of the contemporary science. This unquestionably causes the entering into the third millennium to be directed to a high scientific-technical qualification of the professionals, that means that the curricula have a high scientific level and respond to the needs of the society. The methodology itself deals with the health problems and the ways of professional performance, this being the supreme objective. In spite of the above mentioned, the fact of an accelerated scientific-technical development in sciences, and that is the case in General Surgery, makes us face the dilemma that the supreme objectives are not so essential, being overcome by the contents, that is to say, they are not the principal category which leads to new designs, this being the case we are discussing. Are patterns of sampling effort and completeness of inventories congruent? A test using databases for five insect taxa in the Iberian Peninsula

Evaluating data quality and inventory completeness must be a preliminary step inany biodiversity research, particularly in the case of insects and high biodiversityareas. Yet, this step is often neglected or, at best, assessed only for one insectgroup, and the degree of congruence of sampling effort ffor different insect groupsremains unexplored. We assess the congruence in the spatial distribution of sampling effort for fiveinsect groups (butterflies, caddisflies, dung beetles, moths, and aquatic beetles) inthe Iberian Peninsula. We identify well-surveyed areas for each taxonomic groupand examine the degree to which the patterns of sampling effort can be explainedby a set of variables related to environmental conditions and accessibility. Irrespective of the general lack of reliable inventories, we found a general but lowcongruence in the completeness patterns of the different taxa. This suggests thatthere is not a common geographical pattern in survey effort and that idiosyncraticand contingent factors (mainly the proximity to the workplaces of entomologists)are differentially affecting each group. After many decades of taxonomic and faunistic work, distributional databases ofIberian insects are still in a very preliminary stage, thus limiting our capacity toobtain reliable answers to basic and applied questions. We recommend carrying out long-term, standardised and well-designed entomolog-ical surveys able to generate a reliable image of the distribution of different insect groups. Informe del análisis documental y legislativo del proyecto de investigación: nuevas políticas educativas y su impacto en la equidad: gestión de las escuelas y desarrollo profesional docente (NUPE).

INFORME DEL ANÁLISIS DOCUMENTAL Y LEGISLATIVO DEL PROYECTO DE INVESTIGACIÓN: NUEVAS POLÍTICAS EDUCATIVAS Y SU IMPACTO EN LA EQUIDAD: GESTIÓN DE LAS ESCUELAS Y DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL DOCENTE (NUPE).Se han realizado nueve informes documentales: -Análisis documental de la normativa disponible en la legislación nacional y en la legislación de las diferentes Comunidades Autónomas (Andalucía, Canarias, Cataluña, Madrid y Valencia). Tenemos resultados de la investigación en materia de gestión, dirección, organización, currículo y desarrollo profesional docente. Se aprecia una voluntad de cambio con un corpus normativo que ha incorporado el lenguaje de la innovación, la investigación, la flexibilización, la participación, la inclusión, la igualdad, la diversidad, etc. No obstante su desarrollo y su concreción en el articulado no llegan a ser medidas que contribuyan a generar unas organizaciones educativas más inclusivas, unas direcciones de centros con autonomía de gestión para atender a las verdaderas demandas de los contextos particulares con un liderazgo más pedagógico y comunitario, una inspección que conecte con las problemáticas de los centros sin fiscalización y una formación del profesorado (inicial y permanente) que vayan más allá de las competencias a desarrollar para garantizar un rendimiento del alumnado como rendición de cuentas de la calidad de la escuela, y, a su vez, del sistema. También análisis de informes, artículos y documentos sobre la privatización en la educación. Se ha detectado un incremento de la privatización educativa. En particular Andalucía es una de las comunidades en que esta se desarrolla de una forma más impetuosa en los últimos 10 años. Desde 2011 a 2019 se ha producido el cierre de 7458 unidades de infantil, primaria y secundaria, perdiendo 4638 docentes de la enseñanza pública (82% 3en primaria). Se realiza una privatización por diseño, siguiendo el modelo de Madrid, que ya cuenta con un 45% de escuela privada, que amplían la segregación escolar desde 2013 en un 33%. Clonal chromosomal mosaicism and loss of chromosome Y in elderly men increase vulnerability for SARS-CoV-2

The pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) had an estimated overall case fatality ratio of 1.38% (pre-vaccination), being 53% higher in males and increasing exponentially with age. Among 9578 individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 in the SCOURGE study, we found 133 cases (1.42%) with detectable clonal mosaicism for chromosome alterations (mCA) and 226 males (5.08%) with acquired loss of chromosome Y (LOY). Individuals with clonal mosaic events (mCA and/or LOY) showed a 54% increase in the risk of COVID-19 lethality. LOY is associated with transcriptomic biomarkers of immune dysfunction, pro-coagulation activity and cardiovascular risk. Interferon-induced genes involved in the initial immune response to SARS-CoV-2 are also down-regulated in LOY. Thus, mCA and LOY underlie at least part of the sex-biased severity and mortality of COVID-19 in aging patients. Given its potential therapeutic and prognostic relevance, evaluation of clonal mosaicism should be implemented as biomarker of COVID-19 severity in elderly people.
