PRZYŁĄCZENIE KRYMU PRZEZ ROSJĘ W ŚWIETLE PRAWA MIĘDZYNARODOWEGO

The article describes the most important international law issues related to the annexation of the Crimea by the Russian Federation. The first part of the text concerns with the infringements of the international law made by Russia (infringement of the principle pacta sunt servanda, the principle of non intervention and the principle of the prohibition of aggression). The second, essential part of the text concerns the inadmissibility of self-determination of people in the case of the Crimea. Russian involvement in the Crimea results the illegality of self-determination in this case. It is also impossible because the case of Crimea does not meet the required conditions. The postcolonial perspective on Jewish diaspora studies. Jew-Chinese in Anka’s Voticky memoriesThis article is an attempt to link reflection on Jewish refugee’s memory with postcolonial perspective. The primary source of my considerations is Anka Voticky’s written memories. Voticky had survived the Second World War in Shanghai and Hongkew ghetto. As a starting point, postcolonial theory has been used in close relation to Holocaust studies and diaspora studies. I also show traces of co-existence of Jews and Chinese allowed to break non-writing tradition about colonized people (amah, rickshaw, coolie) during Second World War. Perspektywa postkolonialna w badaniach nad diasporą żydowską. Głównym źródłem rozważań i analizy są wspomnienia Anki Votickiej, czeskiej Żydówki, która II wojnę światową przeżyła w Szanghaju i getcie Hongkew. Jako punktu wyjścia używam teorii postkolonialnej do pokazania bliskiej relacji tej teorii ze studiami nad Holokaustem i tzw. diaspora studies. Ponadto, pokazuję ślady koegzystencji Żydów i Chińczyków przełamując praktykę niepisania o skolonizowanych – amah, rikszarzu i kulisie

Evaluación de la satisfacción con la atención psicológica en el primer nivel de atención : basado en el autoreporte de los usuarios

El propósito del presente estudio fue investigar el impacto de las intervenciones psicológicas realizadas en servicios de salud del Primer Nivel de Atención (PNA) de la Red de Atención Primaria (RAP) de la Administración de Servicios de Salud del Estado (ASSE), en el marco del Sistema Nacional Integrado de Salud (SNIS). El objetivo fue indagar en qué medida los usuarios están satisfechos con la atención psicológica recibida y la relación con el bienestar psicológico, el bienestar general y la calidad de vida. Se utilizó un diseño descriptivo, longitudinal, no experimental. La muestra fue de conveniencia y estuvo compuesta por 49 usuarios. Se aplicaron los siguientes instrumentos: el Cuestionario de Satisfacción del Cliente, CSQ-8-S, el Symptom Check List-90 Revised (SCL-90R) para evaluar bienestar psicológico y el Promis Global Health Measure 10 (PGHM) para evaluar bienestar general y calidad de vida. Los usuarios mejoran respecto al bienestar psicológico, luego de los tres meses de iniciada la intervención psicológica y reportaron un alto grado de satisfacción con la atención recibida. Se encontró también, una correlación estadísticamente significativa entre la mejoría sintomática y la satisfacción de los usuarios. Estos hallazgos, aportan datos acerca de que el enfoque de satisfacción de usuarios, es un proceso factible y válido. Al estar relacionado, además, con el resultado de tratamiento, podría servir como indicador de que los servicios brindados son de buena calidad. Sin embargo el estudio presentó limitaciones, las mismas deben ser tenidas en cuenta a la hora de interpretar los resultados. Dada la escasez de estudios en relación a la temática en el contexto local los resultados encontrados constituyen una fuente de información relevante a ser tenida en cuenta por todos los actores involucrados en el SNIS.Se recomienda que todos los servicios del PNA adopten un protocolo de evaluación de resultados similar al usado en este estudio tanto para ser usado en otras investigaciones como para la evaluación clínica periódica

Volksdeutsche in Cracow and the Cracow District of the General Government, 1939-1941

One of the first tasks of the German occupation authorities after taking over Poland was to identify and assign Polish citizens of German stock to a special ethnic category called Volksdeutsch. The aim of this article is to describe how this process played out in Cracow and its environs in the first years of the German occupation. There were some villages inhabited by people of German origin who used an archaic dialect of German, but nonetheless refused to register as Volksdeutsche. Others became a Volksdeutsch, because of the material and social advantages that designation brought with it, but whose German heritage was highly doubtful. The article also discusses the tensions and conflicts between the Reichsdeutsche, or the civilian Germans from the German Reich who settled in Cracow and were onsidered first-class citizens, and Volksdeutsche, who were treated as the second-class citizens

Dwa synchroniczne neuroendokrynne nowotwory płuca

The synchronous primary lung tumors is a rare condition and presented patient is the first reported case of simultaneous two distinct neuroendocrine lung cancer lesions in the same lobe. We present the case of a 55-year-old woman with synchronous two distinct neuroendocrine lung cancer lesions in the right upper lobe. Initially she showed no signs or symptoms related to lung lesions and was admitted to Thoracic Surgery Ward for the investigation of two oval, solitary pulmonary nodules (11 and 19 mm in diameter) detected on a chest X-ray performed three months earlier. The radiological imaging showed a variability of growth of both lesions (smaller tumor has enlarged while the larger one remained unchanged). After the CT-guided lung biopsy, patient underwent right upper lobectomy. Histological examination revealed a small cell carcinoma in one of the tumors and a large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in the other one. The patient was discharged in good condition and lung inflation in chest X-ray and qualified for adjuvant chemotherapy with a combination of cisplatin and etoposide and the prophylactic cranial irradiation. Very important issues, having impact on outcome of patients with multiple lung tumours is differentiation whether the lesions are metastases or synchronous primary lung tumors and the optimal management of these patients.Synchroniczne nowotwory płuc są rzadką chorobą, a prezentowany przypadek to pierwszy opublikowany opis jednoczesnego wystąpienia dwóch pierwotnych neuroendokrynnych raków płuca zlokalizowanych w jednym płacie. Przedstawiono przypadek 55-letniej pacjentki z dwoma pierwotnymi, odrębnymi neuroendokrynnymi rakami płata górnego płuca prawego. Pacjentka została przyjęta na oddział chirurgii klatki piersiowej w celu diagnostyki dwóch cieni okrągłych płuca prawego (o średnicy 11 i 19 mm) uwidocznionych na zdjęciu RTG klatki piersiowej wykonanym trzy miesiące wcześniej. Przy przyjęciu pacjentka nie prezentowała żadnych objawów związanych ze zmianami w płucu. Dalsze badania obrazowe wykazały zmienność wzrostu obu zmian (mniejszy guz uległ powiększeniu, natomiast średnica większego pozostała bez zmian). Po dalszej diagnostyce obejmującej biopsję płuca pod kontrolą tomografii komputerowej, pacjentkę poddano operacji usunięcia płata górnego płuca prawego. Wynik badania histopatologicznego usuniętej tkanki płucnej wykazał, że jeden z guzów jest rakiem drobnokomórkowym, drugi natomiast wielkokomórkowym rakiem neuroendokrynnym. Po kontrolnym zdjęciu RTG klatki piersiowej, które wykazało pełne upowietrznienie obu płuc, pacjentka została wypisana do domu w stanie ogólnym dobrym. Pacjentkę zakwalifikowano do adjuwantowej chemioterapii z zastosowaniem cisplatyny oraz etopozydu, a także do profilaktycznego naświetlania czaszki. Bardzo ważnym zagadnieniem mającym wpływ na wyniki leczenia pacjentów z mnogimi guzami w płucach jest różnicowanie zmian przerzutowych od nowotworów synchronicznych, a także szybkie wdrożenie właściwego leczenia

Analysis for Racial and Gender Disparities in the Stanford School of Medicine Clerkship Evaluation System

Stanford School of Medicine completed an analysis of our assessment system, the Criterion-Based Evaluation System (CBES), from 2011-2019, investigating for gender- and race-based disparities. Since January 2022, the USMLE Step 1 examination is now pass/fail2. In January 2021, Step 2 Clinical Skills was eliminated3. With these two changes, accurate clerkship assessments will be playing an increased role in residency applications. Concurrently, several medical schools have presented their findings on disparities and bias within their systems of medical student evaluation4,5,6. Medical schools nationwide must re-examine their methods of assessment of medical students

Positioning a mobile robot in a closed area with a map of markers

The article presents issues related to the positioning of mobile robots in a closed area. The method of positioning using photogrammetry methods based on the analysis of specially created unique square-shaped markers is presented. On the basis on such markers placed in the global coordinate system in a closed space (on the terrain ceiling), the proposed algorithms for calculating the spatial and angular positions of the robot are shown. The positioning methods along with the analysis of measurement errors are analyzed. The result of the research is to develop a real-time robot navigation method in the ReMY simulation game
