Kestävää energiaa edistämässä: onko institutionaalisesta yrittäjyydestä apua?

Institutional entrepreneurship research has described and conceptualized dramatic cases of successful institutional change. We know less about whether it can help people trying to change institutions, for example, struggling to change the energy system. Do concepts from the institutional entrepreneurship literature offer sustainable energy practitioners insights on the political aspects of their work? And vice-versa: do practitioners have useful insights on the potential and limits of agency in institutional change? The present study contributes to these questions through collaborative inquiry together with government-affiliated organizations with a mission to promote sustainable energy. The results suggest that concepts from the institutional entrepreneurship literature do serve to make practitioners' implicit competencies explicit and hence a legitimate subject for organizational development and joint learning about the political aspects of energy systems change. We conclude that institutional entrepreneurship appears to require a form of organizing that combines environmental scanning, grand strategy and everyday tactical moves on the ground.peerReviewe

PUUN LAADUN TUTKIMUS KESKI- JA POHJOIS-POHJANMAAN IKKUNATUOTANNOSSA

Opinnäytetyö tehtiin yhteistyössä CENTRIA tutkimus ja kehityksen kanssa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää Keski- ja Pohjois-Pohjanmaan ikkunatuotannossa käytetyn puun laatua. Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin alueen ikkunavalmistajien kohtaamia puun laatuongelmia sekä tyytyväisyyttä käyttämäänsä puumateriaaliin. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin yrityksien ehdotuksia laadun parantamiseksi. Kyselytutkimus tehtiin käyttäen Webropol -kyselytyökalua. Kysymyksien laadinnassa auttoi Innoriihi Oy:n Markku Riihimäki. Vastausten käsittely suoritettiin täysin anonyymisti. Lopputuloksena saatiin ensimmäistä kertaa tutkimustietoon perustuva käsitys alueen ikkunatuotannon käyttämän puun laadusta sekä ongelmien laajuudesta.This thesis was done in collaboration with CENTRIA research and development. The objective of this study was to define the quality of wood used in window production in Central and Northern Ostrobothnia. The survey charted the problems faced by the window manufacturers of the area and the level of satisfaction with the quality of used wood. In addition, the companies were inquired to propose means to improve the quality of wood material. The survey was executed with Webropol online survey software. The questions were compiled with assistance from Innoriihi Ltd’s Markku Riihimäki. The answers were analyzed anonymously. The results gave a clear picture about the quality of wood used in the window production in the area and the extent of quality problems
