    En la Sierra Madre Oriental en el noreste de México, lechos rojos del Mesozoico del Grupo Huizachal sobreyacen el basamento cristalino del Precambrico–Paleozoico. El grupo incluye las formaciones El Alamar, La Boca y La Joya y registra el inicio de un gran ciclo tectono-sedimentario desde el Triasico superior al Jurasico medio–tardío. El progreso se ve obstaculizado por el ámbito de procedencia de los problemas genéticos, por la escala espaciotemporal y la complejidad de los factores que controlan la evolución de los lechos rojos próximos a la convergencia de conjuntos petrotectónicos cerca del margen ecuatorial occidental de Pangea. El análisis de facies de los sistemas deposicionales continentales está restringido a ríos de alta y baja sinuosidad dominados por gravas y arenas. Los estilos fluviales oscilan entre sistemas de mezcla, de baja y alta energía que transportan productos fluviales desde los altos de basamentos situados en el este, con la formación de flujos de masas por gravedad y barras de gravas. Los sedimentos fueron distribuidos a los sitios de depóstio desde la terminación sur del escarpe de Texas y al oeste del límite base de lo que ahora es el Antilinorio Huizachal-Peregrina y la interpretación de la posición del Arco de Tamaulipas

    Plan de cuidados estandarizado en un paciente con Artritis Juvenil Idiopática

    Introducción. La artritis idiopática juvenil es la enfermedad articular más común en la infancia. Comienza antes de los 16 años y está relacionada con una importante discapacidad a corto y largo plazo, por lo que requieren un alto consumo de recursos sanitarios. El dolor y la limitación funcional son habituales en pacientes con AIJ pudiendo repercutir en su vida diaria, siendo necesaria una actuación multidisciplinar contando con profesionales de enfermería especializados. Objetivo. Realizar un plan estándar de cuidados de enfermería sobre los problemas más frecuentes de la Artritis Idiopática Juvenil en fase de remisión. La finalidad del trabajo es evitar la variabilidad en la actuación enfermera durante la atención a estos pacientes. Metodología. Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica en distintas bases de datos, además de consultar revistas y libros. Para el desarrollo del plan de cuidados estandarizado se ha utilizado como modelo de enfermería las 14 Necesidades Básicas de Virginia Henderson y el uso de las taxonomías NANDA, NIC y NOC. Primero, se identificaron y priorizaron los diagnósticos más prevalentes en pacientes con artritis idiopática juvenil. Después, se desarrollaron los distintos objetivos, intervenciones y actividades. Conclusiones. A través del plan de cuidados se pueden obtener cuidados de calidad basados en la última evidencia científica. La consulta de enfermería puede ayudar a estos pacientes, derivando en una mayor satisfacción con la atención recibida y un mayor autocuidado por parte del paciente.     Fisheries and Biodiversity in the Upper Gulf of California, Mexico

    The Upper Gulf of California (UGC) has been recognized by its high primary productivity and abundant fishing (Aragon-Noriega & Calderon-Aguilera, 2000). Sediments and nutrients from the Colorado River, and complex hydrodynamics render this as an Important site for spawning, mating and nursing for numerous species of commercial and ecological importance (Cudney & Turk, 1998; Ramirez-Rojo & Aragón-Noriega 2006). Temperature, salinity and abundance of nutrients in this region vary depending on fresh water runoff from the Colorado River (Alvarez-Borrego et al., 1975; Hernández-Ayón et al., 1993; Lavín & Sánchez, 1999). Commercial fishing of high market value resources such as shrimp takes place in the UGC by artisanal or small scale, and industrial fishing. Artisanal fishing is done on relatively small (30 feet) fiber glass boats or artisanal boats with outboard motors, usually operated by two fishers; their primary fishing gear is drift gillnets, which they use to catch croakers, Spanish mackerel and even shrimp. This type of fishing is carried out by cooperatives and individual fishers from the three ports of the UGC: Puerto Peñasco and El Golfo de Santa Clara, in the State of Sonora, and San Felipe, in Baja California. Because marine resources in the region are migratory, fisheries are seasonal generating bursts of accumulated fishing effort over a few months depending on availability of species (see Cudney & Turk 1998). Increasing demand of economically important species has motivated a steady rise in fishing effort and use of gear and fishing practices jeopardizing critical species such as totoaba, Totoaba macdonaldi, an endemic croaker declared under risk of extinction (Cisneros-Mata et al., 1995), and the rare vaquita, Phocoena sinus. Vaquita are accidentally caught in all kinds of gillnets used in the Upper Gulf (D’Agrosa et al., 1995; Blanco 2002)

    Compact and autonomous multiwavelength microanalyzer for in-line and in-situ colorimetric determinations

    Nowadays, the attainment of microsystems that integrate most of the stages involved in an analytical process has raised an enormous interest in several research fields. This approach provides experimental set-ups of increased robustness and reliability, which simplify their application to in-line and continuous biomedical and environmental monitoring. In this work, a novel, compact and autonomous 10 microanalyzer aimed at multiwavelength colorimetric determinations is presented. It integrates the microfluidics (a three-dimensional mixer and a 25 mm length "Z-shape" optical flow-cell), a highly versatile multiwavelength optical detection system and the associated electronics for signal processing and drive, all in the same device. The flexibility provided by its design allows the microanalyzer to be operated 15 either in single fixed mode to provide a dedicated photometer or in multiple wavelength mode to obtain discrete pseudospectra. To increase its reliability, automate its operation and allow it to work under unattended conditions, a multicommutation sub-system was developed and integrated to the experimentalset-up. The device was initially evaluated in the absence of chemical reactions using four acidochromic dyes and later applied to determine some key environmental parameters such as phenol index, chromium 20 (VI) and nitrite ions.     A monolithic continuous-flow microanalyzer with amperometric detection based on the green tape technology

    The development of micro total analysis systems (muTAS) has become a growing research field. Devices that include not only the fluidics and the detection system but also the associated electronics are reported scarcely in the literature because of the complexity and the cost involved for their monolithic integration. Frequently, dedicated devices aimed at solving specific analytical problems are needed. In these cases, low-volume production processes are a better alternative to mass production technologies such as silicon and glass. In this work, the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a continuous-flow amperometric microanalyzer based on the green tape technology is presented. The device includes the microfluidics, a complete amperometric detection system, and the associated electronics. The operational lifetime of the working electrode constitutes a major weak point in electrochemical detection systems, especially when it is integrated in monolithic analytical devices. To increase the overall system reliability and its versatility, it was integrated following an exchangeable configuration. Using this approach, working electrodes can be readily exchanged, according to the analyte to be determined or when their surfaces become passivated or poisoned.     Association of the superior semicircular canal and tegmen tympani dehiscences and its relationship with the pneumatisation of the temporal bone

    To analyse the degree of pneumatisation of the temporal bone when there is an association between dehiscence of the superior semicircular canal and dehiscence of the tegmen tympani. Materials and methods We analysed a retrospective CT study of 124 selected cases. A single inclusion criterion was applied: the presence of a dehiscence of the tegmen tympani. On the other hand, the degree of temporal pneumatisation was assessed by axial and coronal planes, and has been divided into the following grades O, I, II and III, according to the status and relationship of the mastoid, the bony labyrinth, the petrous segment of the carotid canal and sigmoid sinus. Results Of the 124 cases studied, 35 (28.2%) presented both dehiscences. In 26 of the 35 (47.3%), grade II pneumatisation, 4 (14,8%), grade I, and 5 (11,9%) grade III was observed, with a statistically significant relationship (p < 0.001). On the other hand, we did not find a significant relationship when relating both dehiscences in any age or sex group. However, when relating the degree of pneumatisation to sex, among those with grade III pneumatisation, the proportion of men (52.4%) was significantly higher than that of women (47.6%) (p = 0.017). Conclusion We have detected a statistically significant relationship between the coexistence of grade II pneumatisation and the presence of both dehiscences in the temporal bone

    Class-E power converters for AC (50/60 Hz) wireless transmission

    In this paper, class-E power amplifiers (PAs) and rectifiers, operating at UHF band, are properly integrated in efficient AC-to-RF and RF-to-AC converters for their use in 50/60 Hz wireless power transmission (WPT). Slightly modifying a center-tap full-wave rectifier, it is proved that a 915 MHz frequency carrier may be high-level amplitude modulated by each of the semi-cycles of the utility waveform. Assuming those components are transmitted by means of orthogonal antenna polarizations, the high-fidelity recovery of both semi-sinusoids in the remote position is also demonstrated, to be stepped-up and combined at the ∆ port of an additional center-tap transformer. Se tuvo como alcance 13 objetivos desarrollados y acordados con el empresario para la reestructura de su diseño, organización de sus finanzas y conceptualización de los aspectos administrativos. La metodología utilizada fue mediante distintos recursos como el contacto directo con el empresario, investigación en internet en plataformas como el INEGI, fuentes secundarias, entre otras. Los resultados más sobresalientes se obtuvieron de encuestas dentro de las redes sociales para conocer la opinión de los compradores actuales. Con ello logramos conocer los patrones de compra de los clientes, promedio de gasto al adquirir las prendas, interés en la marca y su opinión dentro del servicio al cliente.ITESO, A.C
