THERMAL COMFORT CONDITIONS AND HEALTH RISKS TO SÃO LUÍS (MA) URBAN POPULATION

The objective of this research was to analyze how the climate, associated with the types of constructive materials in areas of socio-spatial vulnerability compromises the health of the urban population of São Luís (MA). The research is particularized by relating the study of urban climate and thermal comfort to the socio-spatial conditions of the population, through interdisciplinary methods and by using Subsystem for Thermodynamic analysis of the urban climate proposed by Monteiro (1976) as theoretical and methodological foundation. Thermal comfort was monitored and evaluated in 9 (nine) internal environment residences with different building standards, especially in area coverage of socio-spatial vulnerability of São Luís from October to November 2012. To classify thermal comfort factors used in homes, reference indexes established by Thom and Bosen (1959) were used. In addition, to qualitatively evaluate the degree perception regarding thermal comfort of the population involved and the possible association with certain types of symptoms and diseases, 40 questionnaires were applied in each one of the three monitored areas seeking to investigate in loco if there was a relationship of prevalence of these symptoms due to constructive attributes of households.

All-electron full-potential implementation of real-time TDDFT in exciting

Linearized augmented planewaves combined with local-orbitals (LAPW+lo) are arguably the most precise basis set to represent Kohn-Sham states. When employed within real-time time-dependent density functional theory (RT-TDDFT), they promise ultimate precision achievable for exploring the evolution of electronic excitations. In this work, we present an implementation of RT-TDDFT in the full-potential LAPW+lo code exciting. We benchmark our results against those obtained by linear-response TDDFT with exciting and by RT-TDDFT calculations with the Octopus code, finding a satisfactory level of agreement. To illustrate possible applications of our implementation, we have chosen three examples: the dynamic behavior of excitations in MoS$_2$ induced by a laser pulse, the third harmonic generation in silicon, and a pump-probe experiment in diamond

Validação de uma medida de percepção de imagens organizacionais

O constructo imagens organizacionais tem sido apontado como útil para a compreensão do comportamento humano no trabalho; contudo quase sempre essas imagens são obtidas a partir da opinião de especialistas ou de gerentes. Falta uma medida confiável da percepção dessas imagens por parte de um conjunto mais amplo de membros das organizações. O presente trabalho buscou desenvolver essa medida, testá-la no âmbito de diferentes contextos organizacionais em diversas partes do Brasil e validá-la psicometricamente. As oito metáforas de Morgan (1996) serviram de base teórica para a elaboração das questões. O questionário foi respondido por quase 2.000 indivíduos, durante dois anos, tendo recebido sucessivas revisões. Com procedimentos de análise fatorial, com rotação oblíqua, foram finalmente identificadas duas imagens organizacionais percebidas. O cálculo do alfa de Cronbach indicou um índice de confiabilidade adequado para a utilização segura do instrumento construído em pesquisa e análise organizacional.The organizational images contruct has been considered useful for the understanding of human behavior at work. However, those images are almost always obtained from experts’ or managers’ opinions. A reliable measure of the perception of images, from the point of view of a broader set of organization members, is needed. The present work has tried to develop that measure, to test it within different organizational contexts in several parts of Brazil and to psychometrically validate it. Morgan’s (1996) eight metaphors have served as the theoretical basis for formulating questions. The questionnaire was responded by almost 2.000 individuals, during two years, and it has been successively revised. Through the use of factor analysis, with oblique rotation, two perceived organizational images have been finally identified. The calculation of Cronbach’s alpha scores has pointed out to adequate reliability indices for the safe use of the developed instrument in organizational research and analyses

The asymmetric total synthesis of (+)- and (-)-trypargine via Noyori asymmetric transfer hydrogenation

A concise and efficient total synhesis of (+)- and (-)-trypargine (6 steps and 38% overall yield), a 1-substituted β-carboline guanidine alkaloid isolated from the skin of the African frog K. senegalensis, was developed based on the construction of the β-carboline moiety via Bischler-Napieralski reaction and the enantioselective reduction of the dihydro-β-carboline intermediate via an asymmetric transfer hydrogenation reaction using Noyori's protocol.Uma síntese total e eficiente da (+) e (-)-tripargina, alcalóide β-carbolínico isolado da pele da rã africana K. Evolução da gestão da qualidade : uma análise por meio da revisão bibliográfica sistemática

Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Tecnologia, Departamento de Engenharia de Produção, 2018.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar a evolução da Gestão da Qualidade (GQ) nos últimos 50 anos, por meio de uma revisão sistemática da literatura. O resultado do estudo, visa ajudar no diagnóstico da evolução histórica das temáticas de Gestão da Qualidade, do status atual, além de contribuir na compreensão e na definição de sua direção futura. Para alcançar este propósito, foi realizado uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a Gestão da Qualidade, por meio da aplicação da metodologia do Enfoque Meta-Analítico Consolidado (TEMAC), no qual todos os artigos publicados na base de dados Web of Science durante o período 1966 a 2018 sob o termo “Quality Management” foram coletados. Os resultados mostram um crescimento do número total de artigos publicados sobre o tema principalmente a partir da década de 80, nos quais aparecem os estudos dos denominados gurus da qualidade como sendo as referências base sobre o assunto, na análise de co-citação para o primeiro período investigado. A partir da década de 90, ganham ênfase os estudos de revisão bibliográfica que buscam consolidar e validar por meio de aplicação prática a termos e abordagens literárias sobre Gestão da Qualidade. As descobertas evidenciam que a Gestão da Qualidade está agora em mais um estágio de evolução, por apresentar tendências do que pode ser considerado como a 5ª Era da Gestão da Qualidade que vêm de encontro com o fenômeno atual da indústria 4.0. Por é apresentado as principais técnicas e ferramentas da qualidade mais utilizadas pelas empresas ao longo do recorte temporal.The objective of this study is to analyze the evolution of Quality Management (QA) in the last 50 years, through a systematic review of the literature. The result of the study aims to help in the diagnosis of the historical evolution of the topics of Quality Management, of the current status, besides contributing to the understanding and definition of its future direction. To achieve this purpose, a systematic review of the literature on Quality Management was carried out, using the methodology of the Consolidated Meta-Analytic Approach (TEMAC), in which all articles published in the Web of Science database during the period 1966 to 2018 under the term "Quality Management" were collected. The results show a growth in the total number of articles published on the subject mainly from the 80's, in which the studies of so-called quality gurus appear as the base references on the subject, in the co-citation analysis for the first period investigated. Since the 1990s, emphasis has been placed on bibliographic review studies that seek to consolidate and validate, through practical application, the terms and literary approaches to Quality Management. The findings show that Quality Management is now at a further stage of evolution, as it presents trends that can be considered as the fifth Era of Quality Management that come with the current industry phenomenon 4.0.
