The group of strong Galois objects associated to a cocommutative Hopf quasigroup
Let H be a cocommutative faithfully flat Hopf quasigroup in a strict
symmetric monoidal category with equalizers. In this paper we introduce the
notion of (strong) Galois H-object and we prove that the set of isomorphism
classes of (strong) Galois H-objects is a (group) monoid which coincides, in
the Hopf algebra setting, with the Galois group of H-Galois objects introduced
by Chase and Sweedler
Ultra High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy of Matrix Mineral Grains in CM Chondrites: Preaccretionary or Parent Body Aqueous Processing?
CM chondrites are highly hydrated
meteorites associated with a parent asteroid that has
experienced significant aqueous processing. The meteoritic
evidence indicates that these non-differentiated
asteroids are formed by fine-grained minerals embedded
in a nanometric matrix that preserves chemical
clues of the forming environment. So far there are two
hypothesis to explain the presence of hydrated minerals
in the content of CM chondrites: one is based on textural
features in chondrule-rim boundaries [1-3], and
the other ‘preaccretionary’ hypothesis proposes the
incorporation of hydrated phases from the protoplanetary
disk [4-6]. The highly porous structure of these
chondrites is inherited from the diverse materials present
in the protoplanetary disk environment. These
bodies were presumably formed by low relative velocity
encounters that led to the accretion of silicate-rich
chondrules, refractory Ca- and Al-rich inclusions
(CAIs), metal grains, and the fine-grained materials
forming the matrix. Owing to the presence of significant
terrestrial water in meteorite finds [7], here we
have focused on two CM chondrite falls with minimal
terrestrial processing: Murchison and Cold Bokkeveld.
Anhydrous carbonaceous chondrite matrices are usually
represented by highly chemically unequilibrated
samples that contain distinguishable stellar grains.
Other chondrites have experienced hydration and
chemical homogeneization that reveal parent body
processes. We have studied CM chondrites because
these meteorites have experienced variable hydration
levels [8-10]. It is important to study the textural effects
of aqueous alteration in the main minerals to
decipher which steps and environments promote bulk
chemistry changes, and create the distinctive alteration
products. It is thought that aqueous alteration has particularly
played a key role in modifying primordial
bulk chemistry, and homogenizing the isotopic content
of fine-grained matrix materials [7, 11, 12]. Fortunately,
the mineralogy produced by parent-body and terrestrial
aqueous alteration processes is distinctive [5, 11]

The precambrian, ordovician and silurian materials outcropping in the Verín sinclyne have undergone the effects of a poliphase deformation during the Hercynian cycle. The deformation is synchronous with an intermediate low pressure type regional metamorphism. The existence of·a pre-silurian deformation phase is discarded. It is shown that the sttitude of the cleavages within the sinclyne is controlled by the irregular granitic basement and the overlying Braganza massi
Managerialism and fiction, or the fiction of managerialism: From Ayn Rand to novels for executives
The aim of management books is to propagate new theories in the field among company executives. Such publications are one of the pillars of managerialism. Perhaps the oddest manifestation of the phenomenon is novels focussing on senior executives heroically battling for business excellence through the application of a managerial technique. In this paper, we put this curious, rarely-explored literary genre under the spotlight. We not only analyse the salient features of such literature and its main ingredients but also highlight the major stylistic influence of Ayn Rand's works. The novels of this influential neo-Liberal writer foreshadowed the new narrative form.
Advanced architectural descriptors in foams: novel 3D computational methods
This work presents 3D computational strategies aimed at providing foam de-structuration of the basic components of a cellular material (struts and cell walls) offering the possibility of analysing separately the structural elements that play an important role in the physical properties of thee materials. Two different methodologies have been used depending on the topological similarities existing between the struts and cell walls: 3D erosion-dilation procedure (thick struts) and solid classification algorithm (thin struts). In a second step, analysis of cell walls is performed in order to show the advantages of analysing separately the two foams components. Particularly, cell wall thickness distribution reveals differences that could not be found prior to the de-structuration
Debt and sacrifice: the role of scapegoats in the economic crises
Despite the process of secularization and modernization, in contemporary societies, the role of sacrifice is still relevant. One of the spaces where sacrifice actually performs a critical role is the realm of modern economy, particularly in the event of a financial crisis. Such crises represent situations defined by an outrageous symbolic violence in which social and economic relations experience drastic transformations, and their victims end up suffering personal bankruptcy, indebt-edness, lower standards of living or poverty. Crises show the flagrant domination present in social relations: this is proven in the way crises evolve, when more and more social groups marred by a growing vulnerability are sacrificed to appease financial markets. Inspired by the theoretical framework of the French anthropologist René Girard, our intention is to explore how the hegemonic nar-rative about the crisis has been developed, highlighting its sacrificial aspects. This research was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, grant number PGC2018-097200-B-I00
