La Bioética Es Una Nueva Y Reciente Disciplina Basada En Los Avances Científicosy Tecnológicos Contemporáneos. Sin Embargo, Muchos De Sus Principios Sonreconocibles En La Filosofía Y Teología Escolásticas. En Este Caso, En Lafilosofía Del Padre Feijoo, Cuyas Obras Teatro Crítico Universal (1726-1739) Ycartas Eruditas Y Curiosas (1742-1760), Podemos Encontrar Muchas Cuestionesbioéticas Actuales.Bioethics Is A New And Recently Discipline Based In Contemporary Scientific Andtechnological Advances. But More Of His Principles Are Recognised In Scholasticphilosophy And Theology. In This Case, In The Philosophy Of Benedictine Fatherfeijoo, In Which Works Teatro Crítico Universal (1726-1739) And Cartas Eruditasy Curiosas (1742-1760), We Can Find Very Much Bioethics Questions Today

Subsequents critics judged the book likean extravagance and insanity, without reparing in his scholastics arguments, which analized a lot of veryimportant philosophical topics, like animal rationality, very famous today because of the study of com-parative animal behaviour, Etholog

Preparación del μClinux para “Software Defined Radio” con BF537

The purpose of this study is to prepare the Blackfin STAMP board with a BF537 core to work as a SDR system (Software Defined Radio System) under a GNU-Linux platform. Due to all the documentation and support found in the web and the release under GPL (General Public License), the distribution used to develop SDR is μClinux. This work explains what is needed to build a SDR system in the Blackfin board, the inconveniences found in the actual μClinux distribution and all the workarounds and approaches made to start porting the software needed to the operating system. To make it work, some codes of the linux kernel, such as device drivers, had to be reviewed so they could adjust to the application demands. In short, this work explains what has been modified in the μClinux distribution and why such changes are done to make SDR possible in the Blackfin board

Preliminary study of the Craniofacial Pain and Disability Inventory-11:validation for patients with head and neck cancer

Cancer involves numerous physical, psychological and emotional changes and has a negative impact on patients. Although there are a wide variety of questionnaires for general use in patients with cancer, very few are available that assess the pain, disability and craniomandibular functionality of patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) in a more specific manner. The purpose of this study is to present the preliminary behavior of the CF-PDI in its reduced version adapted for patients with HNC. A total of 61 patients with HNC were included in a study to preliminarily analyze the internal consistency of the instrument, the convergent validity and the floor and ceiling effects. All the patients completed the informed consent document and a battery of 5 questionnaires: The Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), the Tampa Scale for Kinesiophobia for Temporomandibular Disorders (TSK-TMD), the Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), the Quality of Life Questionnaire in patients with HNC (QLQ-HN) and the reduced version of the Craniofacial Pain and Disability Inventory (CF-PDI-11). Patients also performed 2 physical tests: measurements of the pain threshold on the masseter muscle and on the distal phalanx of the first finger; and the maximum mouth opening in neutral head position. Cronbach's ? coefficient showed a very high internal consistency of 0.92. In terms of convergent validity, a statistically significant correlation was found between the CF-PDI-11 and the following variables: NRS, TSK-TMD, PCS, QLQ-HN, the threshold of pain in the distal phalanx of the first finger and the maximum interincisal opening. However, 21.3% of patients obtained the lowest possible score. The strongest correlation was found between the CF-PDI-11 and the QLQ-HN (r = 0.85, p <0.01). The preliminary version of the CF-PDI-11 shows that it could be a valid and reliable instrument to measure pain, disability and quality of life in patients with HNC

Energy-Efficient Envelope Design for Apartment Blocks—Case Study of A Residential Building in Spain

Buildings are known to be responsible for about a third of energy consumption in developed countries. This situation, together with the fact that the existing building stock is being renovated at a very slow pace, makes it crucial to focus on the energy retrofitting of buildings as the only way to reduce their contribution to these energy consumptions and the consequences derived from them in terms of pollution and climate change. The same level of insulation and the same type of windows is usually proposed for all dwellings in a building block. This article shows that since the improvements required by each dwelling in the same block are different, the proposed solution must also be different. The methodology is proposed for a practical case consisting of an apartment block in Cádiz, a demonstration building of the European RECO2ST project. To achieve the optimum solution for each case, a multi-objective optimization problem is solved: to minimize the annual heating demand of the building and the standard deviation of the annual demand of the different dwellings. Thanks to the use of the proposed methodology, it is possible to bring the building to a Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) level, while avoiding excessive insulation that causes overheating in summer
