Treball Final de Grau en Disseny i Desenvolupament de Videojocs. Codi: VJ1241. Curs acadèmic: 2016/2017This project aimed to mimic a real life videogame studio work experience by gathering the different departments that conform a development team in order to design and develop a game that excels both for its aesthetics as for its mechanics. To accomplish this task the team decided to follow the footsteps of some of the great geniuses in the history of narrative as J. R. R. Tolkien or George R. R. Martin and develop Relinquish , a fantasy medieval themed action / adventure game. To stand out over the rest of games of this genre, Relinquish introduces a new level down system that makes the game a challenge for the players. The aesthetics of the game were made by the art department in which a was part of, for this reason, this report will be divided in both the whole project put together by the team and the artistic part made by myself, which consisted of three dimensional modelling and texturing along with a limited programming part

    Get PDF
This paper presents the development and validation of an algorithm or methodology using different types of optimizing modules included in ANSYS it allows for percentage differences around 10 % compared to that obtained experimentally. The optimization methodology in the calibration process was used in two bridges, Cajamarca Bridge and Portachuelo Viaduct, whose typologies and materials are different. To calibrate and validate the results obtained by the models, experimental values were used, obtained either through vertical load testing for Cajamarca Bridge or environmental vibration analysis both as the Portachuelo Viaduct and Cajamarca Bridge. Comparison of structural models with experimentally obtained before and after calibration sample represented a significant improvement with a reduction in the percentage difference between the responses obtained with the calibrated model and the responses obtained in the field.Ingeniero (a) CivilPregrad

    Get PDF
Marketing public policies based on the right to food, food sovereignty and food security at both national and international level is characterized. A comparative analysis was conducted in policies and plans supply the cities of Bogota and Medellin. The research results showed the two products under study and peasant origin in general; a lack of public policy to regulate and facilitate the participation of small producers in supplying large cities and marketing chains too intermediation, which affects low-income senior producer and the final consumer prices. It proposed the construction of markets fairer and more equitable for small producers based on justice and economic solidarity short chain.MaestríaMagíster en Ciencias AgrariasIncluye anexosDesarrollo empresarial agropecuarioCiencias Agronómica

An Evolutionary Computational Approach for the Problem of Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch in Microgrids under Several Operation Modes

    Get PDF
In the last decades, new types of generation technologies have emerged and have been gradually integrated into the existing power systems, moving their classical architectures to distributed systems. Despite the positive features associated to this paradigm, new problems arise such as coordination and uncertainty. In this framework, microgrids constitute an effective solution to deal with the coordination and operation of these distributed energy resources. This paper proposes a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to address the combined problem of Unit Commitment (UC) and Economic Dispatch (ED). With this end, a model of a microgrid is introduced together with all the control variables and physical constraints. To optimally operate the microgrid, three operation modes are introduced. The first two attend to optimize economical and environmental factors, while the last operation mode considers the errors induced by the uncertainties in the demand forecasting. Therefore, it achieves a robust design that guarantees the power supply for different confidence levels. Finally, the algorithm was applied to an example scenario to illustrate its performance. The achieved simulation results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades TEC2016-80242-PMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad PCIN-2015-043Universidad de Sevilla Programa propio de I+D+

Lignocellulose Nanofibre Obtained from Agricultural Wastes of Tomato, Pepper and Eggplants Improves the Performance of Films of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) for Food Packaging

    Get PDF
Films formulated with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) (synthetic biopolymer) were reinforced with lignocellulose nanofibres (LCNF) from residues of vegetable production (natural biopolymer). The LCNF were obtained by mechanical and chemical pre-treatment by 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical (TEMPO) and added to the polyvinyl alcohol (polymer matrix) with the aim of improving the properties of the film for use in food packaging. The mechanical properties, crystallinity, thermal resistance, chemical structure, antioxidant activity, water barrier properties and optical properties (transparency and UV barrier), were evaluated. In general, with the addition of LCNF, an improvement in the studied properties of the films was observed. In terms of mechanical properties, the films reinforced with 7% LCNF TEMPO showed the best results for tensile strength, Young’s modulus and elongation at break. At the same LCNF proportion, the thermal stability (Tmax) increased between 5.5% and 10.8%, and the antioxidant activity increased between 90.9% and 191.8%, depending on the raw material and the pre-treatment used to obtain the different LCNF. Finally, a large increase in UV blocking was also observed with the addition of 7% LCNF. In particular, the films with 7% of eggplant LCNF showed higher performance for Young’s modulus, elongation at break, thermal stability and UV barrier. Overall, results demonstrated that the use of LCNF generated from agricultural residues represents a suitable bioeconomy approach able to enhance film properties for its application in the development of more sustainable and eco-friendly food packaging systems

A MPC Strategy for the Optimal Management of Microgrids Based on Evolutionary Optimization

    Get PDF
In this paper, a novel model predictive control strategy, with a 24-h prediction horizon, is proposed to reduce the operational cost of microgrids. To overcome the complexity of the optimization problems arising from the operation of the microgrid at each step, an adaptive evolutionary strategy with a satisfactory trade-off between exploration and exploitation capabilities was added to the model predictive control. The proposed strategy was evaluated using a representative microgrid that includes a wind turbine, a photovoltaic plant, a microturbine, a diesel engine, and an energy storage system. The achieved results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach, outperforming a global scheduling planner-based on a genetic algorithm by 14.2% in terms of operational cost. In addition, the proposed approach also better manages the use of the energy storage system.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad DPI2016-75294-C2-2-RUnión Europea (Programa Horizonte 2020) 76409
