Managing Interacting Criteria: Application to Environmental Evaluation Practices

The need for organizations to evaluate their environmental practices has been recently increasing. This fact has led to the development of many approaches to appraise such practices. In this paper, a novel decision model to evaluate company’s environmental practices is proposed to improve traditional evaluation process in different facets. Firstly, different reviewers’ collectives related to the company’s activity are taken into account in the process to increase company internal efficiency and external legitimacy. Secondly, following the standard ISO 14031, two general categories of environmental performance indicators, management and operational, are considered. Thirdly, since the assumption of independence among environmental indicators is rarely verified in environmental context, an aggregation operator to bear in mind the relationship among such indicators in the evaluation results is proposed. Finally, this new model integrates quantitative and qualitative information with different scales using a multi-granular linguistic model that allows to adapt diverse evaluation scales according to appraisers’ knowledge

El perfil profesional del directivo de enfermeria como gestor organizativo y los nuevos retos del espacio europeo de educación superior

En este artículo se reflexiona sobre las funciones de los directivos enfermería y sobre las dificultades que obstaculizan su desempeño profesional. A su vez, plantea los retos profesionales que en cuanto a funciones, y a su formación están vigentes en la actualidad, presentando una serie de estrategias en pro de una mejora en la formación y en el desarrollo profesional. Estos cambios pueden verse potenciados por el reciente cambio en el marco legislativo profesional y por el nuevo modelo educativo propiciado por el Espacio Europeo Educativo Superior.______________________________This manuscript is the result of a thought about the nursing managers' mission and the difficulties found in their performance appraisal. La experiencia psicosocial de padres de hijos con leucemia en un hospital público de la ciudad de San Luis Potosí

The general research objective was to identify the psychosocial experiences in the context of disease in parents-primary caregivers of children with Leukemia. Applied semi-structured interview to parents and non-participant observation in the hospital waiting room. One of the main categories identified as influential in this experience, is the poverty of individuals and their communities of origin. Lack of resources is a source of anxiety for the individual to face the challenge of finding resources to cover the costs of treating the disease. These results show largely inequity that exists with regard to access to public health arising from the location and condition in which the individual lives.El objetivo general de la investigación fue identificar la experiencia psicosocial en el contexto de enfermedad en padres-cuidadores primarios de hijos con leucemia. Esta investigación es de tipo cualitativo, se aplicaron como técnicas de obtención de información una entrevista semi-estructurada a los padres y se realizó observación no participante en la sala de espera del Hospital. El tipo de análisis de información que realizamos fue análisis de contenido. Una de las categorías principales que identificamos como influyentes en dicha experiencia, es la pobreza de los sujetos y sus comunidades de procedencia. Esta característica socioeconómica se convierte en criterio de identidad social para los sujetos quienes se saben pertenecientes a un grupo de personas desfavorecidas, lo que promueve en gran medida actividades de afrontamiento ante las necesidades que por su condición deben dar solución. La falta de recursos es una fuente de ansiedad para el sujeto al enfrentar el desafío de encontrar recursos para solventar los gastos derivados del tratamiento de la enfermedad. Estos resultados muestran en gran medida la inequidad que existe con relación al acceso a la salud pública derivada del lugar y condición en que vive la persona

Impact on the mortality rate of patients with hypovolemic shock of traumatic origin transferred from rural and urban areas. Systematic review

Objetivo: Evaluar la evidencia disponible acerca de la tasa de mortalidad en pacientes con shock hipovolémico de origen traumático atendidos en áreas rurales y urbanas en Europa. Introducción: El politraumatismo es una de las principales causas de mortalidad en adultos jóvenes. Una de las complicaciones que pueden ocurrir es la hemorragia, y con ella el shock hipovolémico. La llamada "hora de oro" permite identificar la importancia del tiempo de atención definitiva a este tipo de pacientes, situando la primera hora tras el traumatismo como crucial. Cuando estos incidentes ocurren en un área rural, es muy probable que el tiempo de atención y traslado a un hospital adecuado aumente en comparación con áreas urbanas. Método: Se realiza una revisión siguiendo la declaración PRISMA con una exhaustiva búsqueda sistemática en las bases de datos científicas del ámbito de las Ciencias Biomédicas y de la Salud como son Cinahl, Pubmed, Lilacs, MEDES y Dialnet, entre otras. La búsqueda se centra en artículos publicados entre los años 2017 y 2023. Resultados: De los 484 artículos encontrados se seleccionan finalmente 30 para este artículo, 15 de ellos (50%) reflejan una clara desigualdad entre poblaciones rurales y urbanas con respecto a la atención de emergencias, 3 de ellos (10%) muestran discrepancia con nuestra hipótesis de estudio y en 4 de ellos (13%) no queda clara la diferencia en la atención de estos dos grupos de población. Conclusiones: A pesar de las limitaciones encontradas se puede indicar que la población rural está en una situación desfavorecida en relación con la atención sanitaria de emergencias en el paciente politraumatizado, lo cual influye directamente en el aumento de la tasa de mortalidad en este tipo de pacientes.Objective: To evaluate the available evidence about the mortality rate in patients with hypovolemic shock of traumatic origin treated in rural and urban areas in Europe. Introduction: Polytrauma is one of the main causes of mortality in young adults. One of the complications that can happen is bleeding, and hypovolemic shock. The so-called "golden hour" makes it possible to identify the importance of the time for definitive care in this kind of patients, placing the first hour after the trauma as crucial. When these incidents happen in a rural area, it is very probably that the time for care and transfer to a suitable hospital will increase compared to urban areas. Method: A review is carried out following the PRISMA statement with an exhaustive systematic search in scientific databases in the field of Biomedical and Health Sciences such as Cinahl, Pubmed, Lilacs, MEDES and Dialnet, among others. The search focuses on articles published between 2017 and 2023. Results: From 484 articles found, 30 were finally selected for this article, 15 of them (50%) reflect a clear inequality between rural and urban populations regarding emergency care, 3 of them (10%) show discrepancy with our study hypothesis and in 4 of them (13%) the difference in the care of these two population groups is not clear. Conclusions: Despite the limitations found, it can be suggested that the rural population is in a disadvantaged situation in relation to emergency health care in polytraumatized patients, which directly influences the increase in the mortality rate in this kind of patients

Mexican university students: citizen participation, democracy and digital social networks

En este texto se analizan algunas dimensiones con respecto a la construcción de la ciudadanía entre la juventud: sus valoraciones con respecto a la democracia y las elecciones, así como las acciones que llevan a cabo para participar tanto de manera presencial como a través de las redes sociales digitales. Para ello se recuperó información de un cuestionario aplicado a jóvenes estudiantes mexicanos de tres instituciones de educación superior. Los resultados muestran que el estudiantado percibe una democracia resquebrajada e inexistente; esta opinión divide a quienes consideran que este tipo de régimen es mejor a uno autoritario y a quienes señalan que sería mejor tener líderes duros. Asimismo, las acciones que llevan a cabo para participar en la vida pública son mínimas y se concentran en la protección de los animales y en la firma de escritos de protesta. Finalmente, el estudiantado otorga gran valor a la participación de la mujer en la vida pública y política. Este escrito brinda diversas líneas de trabajo para futuras investigaciones que se centren en la formación ciudadana y la participación política juvenil.This text analyzes some dimensions regarding the construction of citizenship among university students: their views on democracy and elections, as well as the actions carried out to participate in person (offline) and through digital social networks (online). Information was retrieved from a questionnaire applied to young Mexican students from three different institutions of higher education. Results shows that the students perceive a broken and non-existent democracy; this opinion divides those who consider that this type of regime is better than an authoritarian one and those who point out that it would be better to have tough leaders. Moreover, the actions they carry out in public life are minimal and focus on the protection of animals and the signing of protest briefs. Finally, students place great value on women’s participation in public and political life. This writing provides various avenues for future research that focus on citizenship education and youth political participation

El canon de entrada en la cadena de franquicia

En el presente trabajo se pretende analizar las características del pago que realiza el franquiciado al franquiciador por su entrada en la cadena de franquicia. Este desembolso, conocido como canon de entrada, es un medio de cubrir los costes que soporta el franquiciador al abrirse un nuevo establecimiento de franquicia, que engloba, entre otros, asistencia técnica, objetos promocionales y diseño del establecimiento. El canon de entrada se encuadra en el contexto de los ingresos totales obtenidos por el franquiciador por parte del franquiciado, que incluyen los royalties en función de la facturación anual del negocio, que se conocen como canon de funcionamiento. A lo largo del artículo se discuten los elementos que influyen en la fijación del canon de entrada y se contrasta empíricamente el grado de influencia ejercido por cada una de estas variable

Las políticas contables del sector público en la elaboración y presentación de los estados financieros de la Municipalidad Distrital de El Porvenir, año 2013

El presente trabajo de investigación se elaboró de acuerdo a la información contable obtenida en la Municipalidad Distrital de El Porvenir, la cual refleja la situación financiera y cambios en las transacciones contables, para que esto se cumpla, debe ser elaborada y presentada de acuerdo a los criterios, principios, métodos y procedimientos contables establecidos en las normas aplicadas en el desarrollo de esta investigación, esto es de importancia significativa, ya que depende de la correcta aplicación de dichas normas para que la información financiera sea útil y oportuna para la toma de decisiones por parte de los usuarios de los Estados Financieros; esta investigación es descriptiva de grupo único. Se realizó un análisis de los Estados Financieros con el fin de determinar si la aplicación de políticas contables ayuda de manera eficiente a la elaboración y presentación de Estados Financieros basándose en la NIC SP N° 01: Presentación de Estados Financieros y la NIC SP N ° 03: Políticas contables, cambios en las estimaciones contables y errores y la normativa vigente de acuerdo a lo establecido por la Dirección General de Contabilidad Pública. En el desarrollo del trabajo, se encontró que no existe una adecuada implementación de políticas contables para la elaboración y presentación de Estados Financieros en la Municipalidad Distrital de El Porvenir, esto debido a la falta de control sobre la ausencia de procedimientos para la implementación de las mismas. La metodología de investigación consistió en la obtención de información financiera y la utilización de cuestionarios, dirigidas a las personas que laboran en el área de contabilidad de la Municipalidad Distrital de El Porvenir. De acuerdo a los resultados obtenidos en la investigación, se considera que nuestra propuesta servirá de guía para la aplicabilidad de políticas contables, así como también contribuirá a presentar y revelar información confiable, facilitando la interpretación y análisis de los Estados Financieros básicos.This research work was produced in accordance to the accounting information obtained in the District Municipality of El Porvenir, which reflects the financial position and changes in accounting transactions, for that to happen, you must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the criteria, principles, methods and accounting procedures established in the standards applied in the development of this research, this is of significant importance, because it depends on the proper implementation of these standards for that financial information is useful and timely for the decision-making on the part of users of financial statements; this research is descriptive of single group. An analysis has been made of the financial statements in order to determine if the implementation of accounting policies help efficiently to the preparation and presentation of financial statements based on IAS SB N° 01: Presentation of financial statements and the IAS SB N° 03: Accounting Policies, Changes in accounting estimates and errors and the regulations in force in accordance with the established by the General Directorate of Public Accounting. In the development of the work, it was found that there was no a proper implementation of accounting policies for the development and presentation of financial statements in the District Municipality of El Porvenir, due in part to the lack of control over the absence of procedures for the implementation of the same. The methodology of research involved in obtaining financial information and the use of questionnaires, aimed at people working in the area of accounting of the District Municipality of the future. Qualitative Analysis of the Professional Identity of Pre-Service Teachers

The professional teaching identity is a construct in continuous evolution. The university stage is the period in which pre-service teachers come into contact with the field in which they will later develop their professional practice. This article focuses its analysis on objectives such as the impact of the vocation on the professional teaching identity and the influence that the environment exerts on the professional identity of future teachers. For this, a qualitative investigation has been carried out, in which 23 students of the Infant Education degree have been interviewed. The content analysis and speech analysis have been carried out through the Nvivo 12 Plus software. which provided clues that have allowed examining the professional identity of Early Childhood Education teachers. Results corroborate the incidence of aspects such as experiences in the first years of life and the formation of attitudes in relation to others in the formation of the teaching vocation. As well as other stories such as the student\u27s personality, the stimulation of the environment or the existence of teachers with good practice in the construction of identity in aspiring teachers. The relevance of the university stage in the initial training in the profession is highlighted, especially the realization of practices in schools (practicum) as critical aspects in the identity construction of the participants, impacting on their professional decision, in the construction of their conception of education and teaching in addition to influencing a prospective view of the teacher who wishes to become
