Observation of the Open Clusters in the UltraViolet

    Get PDF
My poster is related to observing the new open clusters in Ultraviolet and analyzing their data in photometry. We observed via the DK1.54 meter telescope in Chile and the CASLEO telescope in Argentina in the Ultraviolet filter because it is the best way of observation for Reddening. Reddening is independent of distance, age, and metallicity. Our method is Isochrone fitting for our observed open clusters. For Isochrone fitting, we need Reddening. Our goals are: 1) Are these new open clusters that we observed with DK1.54 and CASLEO telescopes real open clusters or not? 2) Do Reddening for all our observed clusters. The Gaia Data Release 3 will allow us to precisely study known Galactic open clusters. We collected the available photometric and astrometric data and then observed new open clusters with DK1.54 and CASLEO telescopes photometrically in the Ultraviolet region in a homogeneous way. With these data, a first homogeneous census of the open clusters in the Milky Way using Ultraviolet photometry can be derived and compared to the literature

Abstract Background Drug misuse is a major problem that has an extreme negative effect on people’s health. Methamphetamine (MA) is frequently used by young adults, despite its harmful consequences. The Transtheoretical Model (TTM) has been known to be very effective in explaining both the achievement and cessation of several health-related behaviors. Therefore, in this study, the TTM was used toward the domain of immoderate MA use among young adults. This study aimed to test the validity and reliability of a decisional balance scale for MA use in young adults. Methods A multi-phase scale development approach was used to develop the scale. First, 41 university students enrolled in a qualitative study that generated content for a primary set of a 40-item instrument. In order to produce a pre-final version of the instrument, face and content validity were calculated in the next step. The instrument validation was assessed with a sample of 250 university students. Then, the construct validity (exploratory and confirmatory), convergent validity, discriminate validity, internal consistency applying test-retest reliability, and Cronbach’s alpha of the scale were measured. Results Forty items were initially generated from the qualitative data. After content validity, this amount was reduced to 25 items. The exploratory factor analysis revealed four factors (self and other cons, coping and social pros) containing 21 items that jointly accounted for 55.24% of the observed variance. The confirmatory factor analysis indicated a model with appropriate fitness for the data. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for the dimensions ranged from .74 to .87, and the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) ranged from .83 to .91, which is within acceptable ranges. Conclusion The findings showed that the Methamphetamine Decisional Balance Scale is a valid and reliable scale that increases our ability to study motivational factors related to MA use among young adult. Consequently, the instrument could be applied in both practice and future studies

Background and Objectives: Increase in dynamic knee valgus during movements such as landing, jumping, cutting, stepping up and down, and walking is one of the risk factors for knee injuries and a reduction in the mechanical efficiency of movement. Recent research has shown that landing with dynamic knee valgus causes weakness and possible defects in dynamic movements of lower limbs; Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of exercise intervention on dynamic knee valgus angle during landing, jumping, and cutting tests. Method and Material: Seven electronic databases in Persian (three databases) and English (four databases) and specified keywords were used to identify the studies. These studies include the effects of exercise interventions on dynamic knee valgus during jumping, landing, and cutting tests which were published between 2010 to 2020 and 1390 to 1399 in both Persian and English. Results: Eleven articles with a total of 445 participants met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the present study. Eight studies reported a significant effect of exercise programs (between three and 10 weeks) on reducing the dynamic knee valgus, and only three studies (between 16 and 24 sessions) showed no difference in dynamic knee valgus. According to the results of this study, Core exercises (strength and stability) and plyometric exercises with 64% and 80% reduction in dynamic knee valgus were the most effective methods in improving the kinematics of the lower limb, respectively. Conclusion: Using jump-landing, strong core, and lower limb exercises before the main exercise (at least 20 minutes) can reduce dynamic knee valgus and prevent lower limb injuries.
