The Sustainability of Cement Mortar with Raw Sewage Sludge and Rice Husk Ash

This study devotes to investigate the use of Raw Sewage Sludge (RSS) and Rice Husk Ash (RHA) to obtain sustainable construction materials. This study focuses on the evaluation of using cement-based materials having RSS and RHA. The methodology of this study could be summarized by replacing water by RSS and replacement of 10 %RHA from the weight of cement. Five groups have been used with different ratios of RSS/binder; for each group with and without RHA. In addition, the sand/binder ratio has been changed for Group 2. This method includes testing the flowability, compressive strength, Total Water Absorption (TWA) and density for the mortar mixes containing these materials. The results indicate that mixes with added materials encourage the results compared to control mixes. Addition of RHA considerably decreases flowability; however it enhanced compressive strength for all groups especially for Groups 3, 4 and 5.  Moreover, the minimum values of TWA were recorded when 10% RHA was utilized as a cement replacement for both RSS and water mixes. Finally, it was found that replacing RSS by water, leads to the reduction in flowability and TWA in all mixes especially at 10% RHA; whereas the strength and density increase

Peran Media Daring pada Konflik Sumber Daya Alam di Riau

This article discusses the role of online media in natural resource conflicts in Riau during 2016-2018. The conflict has always been at national highest position, even though there are 323 online media that should be able to accelerate conflict resolution. The research is conducted using qualitative content analysis with data from the annual report on conflict news in 2016-2018, and analyzed based on news content and media trends. The findings show that online media plays a function of conflict diminisher for economic interests. Management of gastrointestinal toxicity from nivolumab therapy

Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody with immunomodulatory action blocking a PD-1 receptor (programmeddeath-1). This action causes T-cell activation against the neoplasm and all other body tissues. This can lead tomany different autoimmune-regulated toxicities. The most common are gastrointestinal complications such asenterocolitis and hepatitis. These adverse events may be successfully treated if a diagnosis is quick and appropriate.Such an approach may also enable continuation of nivolumab therapy in many patients

KEARIFAN LOKAL MASYARAKAT DESA GAMBUT DI PROVINSI RIAU

 Kajian ini membahas tentang kearifan lokal  pada budi daya pertanian  di lima desa gambut di Riau. Di Indonesia terdapat 10,8%  kawasan gambut dari luas daratan di Indonesia. Masyarakat sudah  hidup di kawasan gambut sejak abad ke 3 masehi dan desa gambut di Riau sudah ada  sejak abas ke 19.  Dapat dipastikan bahwa kearifan lokal sudah menjadi tatanan nilai di masyarakat di kawasan gambut Indonesia, termasuk di Riau. Kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif dengan mengacu pada penelitian rapid etnografi, data diperoleh dengan observasi cepat, wawancara mendalam, diskusi grup terfokus dan studi perspustakaan. Informan diperoleh  dari kepala desa dan tokoh masyarakat melalaui snow ball.  Penelitian dilakukan di lima desa gambut di Kabupaten Pelalawan, Kabupaten Siak, Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti dan Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Data dianalisis secara diskriptif menggunakan pendekatan konstruktif melalui tahapan dan kecenderungan pola data dan berdiskusi pada teori. Kajian ini melaporkan bahwa kearifan lokal di lima desa gambut berasal dari tanah mineral hulu sungai dan budaya maritim tanah aluvial, yang kemudian membentuk kearifan lokal di desa-desa tersebut;. Masyarakat tidak mengelola gambut dalam atau hanya mengelola gambut dengan kedalaman satu meter; Mata pencaharian  masyarakat berbasis  pencarahairan jangka panjang dan harian dengan beragam kegiatan dan komuditas misalnya sagu, kelapa, nanas, melon dan cabe, Pengelolaan kesuburan berbasis pada jenis komuditas,  dan  kanal dangkal;  serta terdapat institusi ekonomi toke sebagai pembeli hasil pertanian masyarakat dan penyedia hutang.

NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN DALAM NOVEL AJAKLAH TUHAN KE TANAH JAWA KARYA SEKAR AYU ASMARA

The novel tells about life in society as a social problem. One of the problems of life that is often the author's scrutiny is the issue of education. The purpose of this study was to determine, (1) the moral values ​​in the novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara, (2) the religious values ​​in the novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara, and (3) the value of hard work in Novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara. The research method used to examine the value of education in the Novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara is a descriptive qualitative method. The sources of data in this study are words, sentences and quotes from the Novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara. The data collection technique in this research is a listening, reading and note-taking technique, in this case a study of the texts of the Novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara. The results showed, (1) the moral values ​​in the novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara were dominated by Mama Hannah's advice to Rebekah. (2) Religious values ​​in the novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara is a novel that tells the spiritual journey of the main character Rebekah. (3) The values ​​of hard work in the novel Invite God to the Land of Java by Sekar Ayu Asmara. (1) The value of hard work education on the indicator of not easily giving up was found 5 times, (2) The value of hard work education on the indicator of willingness to complete work was found 4 times, (3) The value of hard work education on the indicator always carried out the work that became responsibility was found 4 times, (4) The value of hard work education on the indicator of being able to organize existing resources to carry out the task was found 3 times quoted. Background voltage distortion and percentage of nonlinear load impacts on the harmonics produced by a group of personal computers

The penetration of nonlinear loads on power systems increases distortion levels and can cause severe problems to power systems. Many factors affect the degree of generated harmonics including the background voltage distortion and percentage of nonlinear load to the total load. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to investigate and accurately quantify the effects of these two factors on the harmonics produced by a group of Personal Computers (PCs). Contestation for land towards Kampong Adat of Sakai Minas in Riau:

This research discussed the Kampong Adat in Minas Barat Village, Minas District, Siak Regency. Regional Regulation Number 2 concerning the determination of Kampong Adat had issued since 2015. However, the completeness of requirements for the Ministry of Home Affairs approval has not been completed until November 2021. This study used an ethnography design; the researcher lived in the research site for two months. The data were collected by participatory observation, in-depth interviews with selected informants due to their knowledge and experience in the establishment of Kampong Adat. The data were analyzed descriptively by discussing with theory and resulted in the general trend as this research's findings. This research found, first, Since Minas Barat Village of determined as Kampong Adat, the community of Sakai Tribe have been minority citizen. Second, the Sakai community has some difficulties preparing the complete requirements for approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs because there are many interests involved in the village. Third, the government has not given severe attempts for Kampong Adat. The government let the completeness of approval has not yet been fulfilled for almost seven years. This study contributed to the anthropology of policy, specifically for indigenous peoples, in issuing affirmative policies to fulfill the rights of indigenous peoples

The Predictors of SMEs and In-House Recovery of Pandemic: Employees’ Perspective Toward Challenges, Drivers and Government Responses from Jordan Context

Purpose: This study seeks to provide evaluations of the challenges, drivers and government responses that are provided for SEMs and in-house recovery in Jordan context in time of COVID-19, from viewpoints of owners and employees of SMEs and in-house businesses.   Theoretical framework: This study reviews the literature for the challenges, drivers and government responses for SMEs to assemble the list that was used to gather respondents’ evaluations and provide an evaluation of the SME environment in Jordan during the COVID-19 pandemic.   Design/Methodology/Approach: Using a questionnaire, data was collected for this study, purposive sampling was applied, and a sample of 1,179 provides the assessments that were used to gather the results. SPSS was used to conduct data analysis that was based on the use of descriptive analysis.   Findings: The findings show that owners and employees of SMEs and in-house businesses in Jordan express moderate levels of agreement toward all proposed challenges, with the exception of challenges related to market factors, which are at a high level of agreement. Additionally, all proposed drivers are at moderate levels of agreement, and the highest agreement level is for e-marketing factors.   Research practical & Social implications: The study suggests allowing government agencies, educational institutions, donor and support organisations, and owners and employees of SMEs to adopt strategic business plans that take advantages of possible drivers and mitigate the consequences of challenges in the business environment.   Originality/Value: This study contributes to the emerging literature concerning SMEs during the COVID-19 pandemic by targeting owners and employees of SMEs and in-house businesses in Jordan to gather their responses regarding a set of challenges, drivers and government responses that the literature proposed as characterising the business environment during the pandemic
