    A new interpretation for the Ds2∗(2573)D^*_{s2}(2573) and the prediction of novel exotic charmed mesons

    In this manuscript we study the vector - vector interaction within the hidden gauge formalism in a coupled channel unitary approach. In the sector C=1,S=1,J=2C=1,S=1,J=2 we get a pole in the T-matrix around 25722572 MeV that we identify with the Ds2∗(2573)D^*_{s2}(2573), coupling strongly to the D∗K∗D^*K^*(Ds∗ϕD^*_s\phi(ω\omega)) channels. In addition we obtain resonances in other exotic sectors which have not been studied before such as C=1,S=−1C=1,S=-1, C=2,S=0C=2,S=0 and C=2,S=1C=2,S=1. This 'flavor-exotic' states are interpreted as D∗K∗ˉD^*\bar{K^*}, D∗D∗D^*D^* and Ds∗D∗D^*_sD^* molecular states but have not been observed yet. In total we obtain nine states with different spin, isospin, charm and strangeness of non C=0,S=0C=0,S=0 and C=1,S=0C=1,S=0 character, which have been reported before

    Hidden-charm and radiative decays of the Z(4430) as a hadronic D_1 \bar{D^\ast} bound state

    We study the Z±(4430)Z^\pm(4430) meson within a heavy hadron molecule interpretation where the ZZ is considered as a bound state of a vector D∗(2010)D^\ast(2010) and an axial-vector D1(2420)D_1(2420). We give predictions for the strong hidden-charm Z±(4430)→π±ψZ^\pm(4430) \to \pi^\pm \psi and π±ψâ€Č\pi^\pm\psi^\prime decay widths and also study the radiative Z±  (JP=1−)â†’Ï€Â±ÎłZ^\pm\;(J^P=1^-) \to \pi^\pm\gamma decay properties in a phenomenological Lagrangian approach. Our findings are qualitatively in line with the experimental observation that the π±ψâ€Č\pi^\pm\psi^\prime transition dominates over the π±ψ\pi^\pm\psi decay mode despite a smaller phase space. The width for the radiative mode Ï€Â±Îł\pi^\pm\gamma is sizable, allowing possible detection in future experiments.Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, matches published versio

    By studying the structures of clusters bound by a model potential that favours polytetrahedral order, we find a previously unknown series of `magic numbers' (i.e. sizes of special stability) whose polytetrahedral structures are characterized by disclination networks that are analogous to hydrocarbons.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

    C60: the first one-component gel?

    Until now, gels have been formed of multicomponent soft matter systems, consisting of a solvent and one or more macromolecular or colloidal species. Here we show that, for sufficient quench rates, the Girifalco model of C60 can form gels which we identify by their slow dynamics and long-lived network structure. These gels are stable at room temperature, at least on the simulation timescale up to 100 ns. At moderate temperatures around 1000 K, below the bulk glass transition temperature, C60 exhibits crystallisation and phase separation proceeds without the dynamical arrest associated with gelation, in contrast to many colloidal systems.Comment: Accepted by J.     Heavy quarkonium: progress, puzzles, and opportunities

    A golden age for heavy quarkonium physics dawned a decade ago, initiated by the confluence of exciting advances in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and an explosion of related experimental activity. The early years of this period were chronicled in the Quarkonium Working Group (QWG) CERN Yellow Report (YR) in 2004, which presented a comprehensive review of the status of the field at that time and provided specific recommendations for further progress. However, the broad spectrum of subsequent breakthroughs, surprises, and continuing puzzles could only be partially anticipated. Since the release of the YR, the BESII program concluded only to give birth to BESIII; the BB-factories and CLEO-c flourished; quarkonium production and polarization measurements at HERA and the Tevatron matured; and heavy-ion collisions at RHIC have opened a window on the deconfinement regime. All these experiments leave legacies of quality, precision, and unsolved mysteries for quarkonium physics, and therefore beg for continuing investigations. The plethora of newly-found quarkonium-like states unleashed a flood of theoretical investigations into new forms of matter such as quark-gluon hybrids, mesonic molecules, and tetraquarks. Measurements of the spectroscopy, decays, production, and in-medium behavior of c\bar{c}, b\bar{b}, and b\bar{c} bound states have been shown to validate some theoretical approaches to QCD and highlight lack of quantitative success for others. The intriguing details of quarkonium suppression in heavy-ion collisions that have emerged from RHIC have elevated the importance of separating hot- and cold-nuclear-matter effects in quark-gluon plasma studies.     Physics with the KLOE-2 experiment at the upgraded DAϕ\phiNE

    Investigation at a ϕ\phi--factory can shed light on several debated issues in particle physics. We discuss: i) recent theoretical development and experimental progress in kaon physics relevant for the Standard Model tests in the flavor sector, ii) the sensitivity we can reach in probing CPT and Quantum Mechanics from time evolution of entangled kaon states, iii) the interest for improving on the present measurements of non-leptonic and radiative decays of kaons and eta/etaâ€Č^\prime mesons, iv) the contribution to understand the nature of light scalar mesons, and v) the opportunity to search for narrow di-lepton resonances suggested by recent models proposing a hidden dark-matter sector.
