Constructivism and Rationalism as Analytical Lenses: The Case of the European Neighbourhood Policy

The paper proposes a novel way in which social constructivism and rationalism might be combined in the study of the EU´s external relations. It proceeds in four steps: First, a basic model for the study of EU external policies is introduced, with its four basic elements being based on different combinations of constructivism and rationalism. Second, existing theories are categorised in accordance with the model. Third, a case study exploring the relations of three countries in the EU´s Eastern neighbourhood (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia) with the Union is introduced, through which the practical applicability of the model is demonstrated. Fourth, the paper concludes with some theoretical remarks

Precise Frequency Generator - DDS

Tato práce pojednává o generátorech kmitočtu založených na metodě přímé digitální syntézy DDS. Je zde vysvětlen a popsán základní princip funkce generátoru DDS a jeho vlastnosti. Zmíněny jsou parametry ovlivňující a definující kvalitu generovaného signálu. Je uveden také seznam v současnosti dostupných integrovaných obvodů realizujících přímou digitální syntézu DDS. V práci je popsán postup návrhu generátoru DDS s vybraným obvodem AD9954 a jeho řízení. V textu je podrobně rozebrána konstrukce a vlastnosti jednotlivých součástí. Na závěr se provádí ověření funkce a parametrů tohoto generátoru.This work deals with frequency generators based on the direct digital synthesis method DDS. Basic principles and attributes of the frequency generator DDS are explained. The text describes parameters influencing and defining a quality of the generated signal. The list of available integrated circuits realizing the direct digital synthesis is mentioned. A construction of the DDS generator with a device AD9954 and the generator control are described. At the end of the work, the function and parameters of the designed generator are verified.

Strength Analysis of Alternator Body

V této diplomové práci je teoreticky popsán a následně prakticky proveden pevnostní výpočet skříně alternátoru, která v podmínkách provozu soutěžního vozu přechází často do havarijního stavu. Je zde využito tzv. reverzního inženýrství. Reálná součást je převedena na digitální model a pomocí MKP výpočtu analyzována. Vstupními daty pro MKP výpočet jsou data získaná při experimentálním měření na voze.In this diploma thesis is theoretically described and then practically performed stress analysis of alternator body, which in terms of traffic racing car often passes into disrepair. It is used reverse engineering method. The real part is converted to digital model and analysed using FEM calculation. Incoming data for FEM are obtained by experimental measurement on the car.

Optimization of Ethernet network in manufacturing plant

Tato diplomová práce popisuje práce vykonávané při optimalizaci podnikové sítě ve společnosti Alps Electric Czech s cílem rozšířit množství informací získávaných o stavu sítě a tím zlepšit reakci IT oddělení na případné chyby. Při optimalizaci, také došlo k nasazení monitorovacího systému a jeho provázání s helpdeskem a na míru vytvořeným webem, jenž běží na mikroframeworku Flask. S postupným nasazování docházelo k úpravám na základě zpětné vazby od pracovníků IT odddělení. Celkově tak došlo k zpřehlednění sítě zvyšující efektivitu údržby a servisu.This diploma thesis describes the work performed in the optimization of the corporate network in the company Alps Electric Czech to expand the amount of information obtained about the state of the network and thus improve the response of the IT department to potencial errors. During the optimization, a monitoring system was also deployed and its connection to the helpdesk and a tailor-made website running on the Flask microframework. With the gradual deployment, adjustments were made based on feedback from the IT department staff. Overall, the network has become more clarified, increasing the efficiency of maintenance and service.

Location of the Production Hall Based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making

Cílem práce s názvem „Lokalizace výrobní haly na základě vícekriteriálního rozhodování“ bylo určení nejoptimálnější lokality pro novou výrobní halu společnosti na základě zvolených kritérií. Jako možné varianty lokalizace byly zvoleny kraje České republiky. Mezi použité metody patří metoda AHP, Topsis, analýza citlivosti a vzájemná komparace výsledků. Závěrem byly doporučeny nejoptimálnější varianty lokalizace dle výsledků zvolených metod.The aim of the work entitled "Location of the Production Hall Based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making" was to determine the most optimal location for the company's new production hall on the basis of selected criteria. The regions of the Czech Republic were chosen as possible localization variants. The methods used include the AHP method, Topsis, sensitivity analysis and mutual comparison of results. Cílem práce s názvem „Finanční analýza podniku poskytující účetní a daňové semináře“ bylo zhodnocení finanční situace dané firmy na základě účetních výkazů, tedy rozvahy a výkazu zisku a ztrát. Mezi použité metody patří horizontální analýza, vertikální analýza, poměrové ukazatele a bonitní a bankrotní modely. Tato práce se věnuje vývoji pohonných ústrojí vozů Grand Prix v meziválečném období. Celá práce je rozdělena dle historických mezníků, které se týkají hlavně změn pravidel pro konstrukci závodních vozů. Je zde uvedeno mnoho příkladů pohonů závodních vozů a jejich postupného vývoje.This bachelor's thesis concerns evolution of Grand Prix cars' powertrain during interwar period. The thesis is divided by historical milestones, mainly concerning changes of racing cars' construction rules. Many examples of racing cars' powertrains and their gradual evolution are presented.

Urban public spaces in the Czech Republic

The study deals with public space both as a physical phenomenon and social phenomenon. It defines its fundamental meaning by referring to the works of sociologists Richard Sennett and Hans Paul Bahrdt: The public space offers the opportunity to meet other people, confront the differences, and at the same time it is a place where we can strengthen social solidarity and mutual respect. The study briefly mentions the development of public spaces in Czech towns at the time of communist regime. However in the first instance it shows selected current works to document the attempts to express the openness of democratic society after 1989 and the new arrangements of public spaces. Evaluation of the development during the recent years shows both positive and negative aspects: On one side it is a sensitive reconstruction of previously neglected public spaces in historical centres of towns and several completely new spaces in other town quarters, on the other side it is too strong commercialisation of these spaces, their submission to tourism, and the lack of interesting public spaces in the places of everyday life of the inhabitants and in newly developing areas of towns. The increasing interest of professional community and general public in the quality of public space, as well as attempts to make the care for public spaces a substantial part of municipal strategies in some cities give a hope for the future

Parameterized complexity of coloring problems: Treewidth versus vertex cover

AbstractWe compare the fixed parameter complexity of various variants of coloring problems (including List Coloring, Precoloring Extension, Equitable Coloring, L(p,1)-Labeling and Channel Assignment) when parameterized by treewidth and by vertex cover number. In most (but not all) cases we conclude that parametrization by the vertex cover number provides a significant drop in the complexity of the problems
