Simulating chemistry using quantum computers
The difficulty of simulating quantum systems, well-known to quantum chemists,
prompted the idea of quantum computation. One can avoid the steep scaling
associated with the exact simulation of increasingly large quantum systems on
conventional computers, by mapping the quantum system to another, more
controllable one. In this review, we discuss to what extent the ideas in
quantum computation, now a well-established field, have been applied to
chemical problems. We describe algorithms that achieve significant advantages
for the electronic-structure problem, the simulation of chemical dynamics,
protein folding, and other tasks. Although theory is still ahead of experiment,
we outline recent advances that have led to the first chemical calculations on
small quantum information processors.Comment: 27 pages. Submitted to Ann. Rev. Phys. Che
Objective. Determine the validity and reliability of the EVACALEN tool (Evalución de la Calidad en Enfermería) which measures the quality of nursing in intensive care units in the municipality of Neiva. Method. A quantitative, descriptive study, a validation of scales with multivariate analysis, was carried out. A sample of 186 patients was taken from three intensive care units (ICU) in Neiva. The study used a tool designed by the authors, EVACALEN, in order to evaluate the quality of nursing care in intensive care units. Various statistical methods were used to analyse the data such as, measures of central tendency, frequency tables, general tables, the Pearson correlation and psychometric tests. Results and Conclusions. After analysing the data, the EVACALEN tool consisted of 39 items, based on the results of the analysis. Items 1, 6, 7 and 23 were removed during the analysis as they showed a correlation of less than 0.30, changing the reliability from 0.872 to 0.875. The analysis of the results by experts was also taken into account. It was found that item 28 showed low averages and a high standard deviation and coefficient of variation in the assessed categories, related to sufficiency, consistency and relevance, and was therefore removed from the tool.

diferentes, Lachman activo radiológico (LAR) y TelosR.
superior a 3 mm.
A pesar
In a prospective study, 32 patients with arthroscopically proved anterior cruciate
ligament rupture were previously stressradiographied on both knees through two methods:
the quadriceps-contraction technique (QCT) and the TelosR device. Instability was
assumed when radiological differential displacement between injured and normal knee was greated
than 3 mm. Results showed that this differential displacement was greater than 3 mm with
both methods: 3,7 ± 3,7 mm v.s. 4,8 ± 5,8 mm in the medial side (differences not significant)
and 4,3 ± 4,7 mm v.s. 6,8 ± 6 mm (p < 0.05) for the lateral side with the QCT and TelosR respectively.
In spite of these differences, both methods showed a sensitivity lower than 70%
Peer Reviewe
Extracellular Vesicles: Mechanisms in Human Health and Disease
SIGNIFICANCE: Secreted extracellular vesicles (EVs) are now considered veritable entities for diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics. These structures are able to interact with target cells and modify their phenotype and function. Recent Advances: Since composition of EVs depends on the cell type of origin and the stimulation that leads to their release, the analysis of EV content remains an important input to understand the potential effects of EVs on target cells.
CRITICAL ISSUES: Here, we review recent data related to the mechanisms involved in the formation of EVs and the methods allowing specific EV isolation and identification. Also, we analyze the potential use of EVs as biomarkers in different pathologies such as diabetes, obesity, atherosclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. Besides, their role in these diseases is discussed. Finally, we consider EVs enriched in microRNA or drugs as potential therapeutic cargo able to deliver desirable information to target cells/tissues.
FUTURE DIRECTIONS: We underline the importance of the homogenization of the parameters of isolation of EVs and their characterization, which allow considering EVs as excellent biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis

Two-loop renormalisation of gauge theories in Implicit Regularisation: transition rules to dimensional methods
We compute the two-loop -function of scalar and spinorial quantum
electrodynamics as well as pure Yang-Mills and quantum chromodynamics using the
background field method in a fully quadridimensional setup using Implicit
Regularization (IREG). Moreover, a thorough comparison with dimensional
approaches such as conventional dimensional regularization (CDR) and
dimensional reduction (DRED) is presented. Particularly, for our calculations
we show that the inclusion of evanescent -scalar particle
contributions needed in quasi-dimensional methods such as DRED and Four
Dimensional Helicity (FDH) cancel out in the determination of the ultraviolet
(UV) structure of the models we study. Subtleties related to Lorentz algebra
contractions/symmetric integrations inside divergent integrals as well as
renormalisation schemes are carefully discussed within IREG where the
renormalisation constants are fully defined as basic divergent integrals to
arbitrary loop order. Moreover we confirm the hypothesis that momentum routing
invariance in the loops of Feynman diagramas implemented via setting
well-defined surface terms to zero deliver non-abelian gauge invariant
amplitudes within IREG just as it has been proven for abelian theories
