Re- evoluciona la plaza, Patrimonio cultural de la plaza de mercado del barrio Las Cruces

El proyecto propone fortalecer un ícono del patrimonio cultural bogotano como lo es la Plaza de mercado del barrio Las Cruces, estimulando la apropiación social de los habitantes del barrio mediante un proceso de divulgación y conocimiento del patrimonio de la plaza que motive la valoración y realización de actividades para la revitalización basadas en los usos potenciales de este patrimonio material e inmaterial como recursos para el desarrollo local. La metodología que se aplicará es la prospectiva cultural, ya que se pretende proponer colectivamente escenarios futuros del patrimonio de la plaza, guiados por el modelo de un microcosmos y de acuerdo al concepto de la Economía Azul en el que se encadenan procesos (culturales y de gestión) para lograr la proyección de la comunidad, en la que los habitantes del barrio Las Cruces y quienes trabajan al interior de la plaza, cooperan, se comunican, se relacionan con mayor facilidad y cambian ante nuevos desafíos. En síntesis, se plantea en torno al patrimonio de la Plaza de Mercado, la gestión eficiente de recursos propios de la comunidad para beneficio de la misma.The iconic “plaza de mercado” of Las Cruces neighborhood in Bogotá, has become abandoned by vendors and customers despite its values as national monument and as an important food supplier for the community and the city during the XXth century. This project aim to stimulate the community’s appropriation of the material and immaterial heritage contained in this marketplace through several activities that generate knowledge and strengthen the links among the people who works and live around the plaza. The project also looks for revitalizing the historical marketplace as a commercial and as a meeting point for the different social groups of the neighborhood. This can be accomplished by giving new and cultural related uses for the unused spaces inside the building, and making the people an active part of the planning and execution of the activities that are projected here

Efecto de la impregnación con polímeros sobre las propiedades mecánicas de la Guadua

La Guadua angustifolia Kunth ha sido aceptada como elemento estructural en las NSR-10. Sin embargo, debido a su biodegradación y baja durabilidad, continúa siendo objeto de estudios que propenden por mejorar sus propiedades. El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue evaluar el efecto que la impregnación dentro de la Guadua angustifolia Kunth macana con copolímeros a partir de estireno (St), metacrilato de metilo (MMA) y acrilato de butilo (BuA), tiene sobre las propiedades mecánicas de compresión y flexión, la absorción de agua y la variación dimensional. Así como, de identificar el papel del acrilato de butilo como agente plastificante en el copolímero. La copolimerización fue analizada a través de dilatometria, viscosimetria, porcentaje de sólidos, DSC, DTG, FTIR y ensayo a compresión. Los resultados indicaron que la impregnación dentro de la Guadua a. puede realizarse usando la mezcla de monómeros St: MMA: BuA en relación 2:2:1, con 1.0% de PBO y 0,5% de dodecilmercaptano, llevados a 55°C por menos de 90 minutos. La concentración de BuA se estableció para alcanzar mínimo una Tg de 60°C. La infiltración al vacío de sustancias fijadoras de tejido, glutaraldehído 2,5% y solución FAA, dentro de pequeñas probetas de Guadua a., no modificaron la dimensión de los vasos de metaxilema, y aumentaron el índice de cristalinidad. Los resultados de los ensayos a compresión y flexión indicaron que el tratamiento térmico, el tratamiento químico y las impregnaciones con polímeros mejoraron las propiedades mecánicas. También se logró la disminución de absorción de agua y reducir la variación dimensional.Abstract. Guadua angustifolia Kunth accepted as a structural element in the NSR-10, but because of its low durability, it continues being studied to improve their properties. Therefore, the main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the impregnation within the Guadua angustifolia Kunth macana with copolymers from styrene (St), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and butyl acrylate (BuA), has on mechanical properties of compression and bending, water absorption and the dimensional variation. In addition, to identify the role of butyl acrylate as a plasticizing agent in the copolymer too. The kinetic constants of polymerization, and the polymerization time were obtained by dilatometry, in that the viscosimetric study was conducted through a cone and plate rheometer. The results indicated that the impregnation inside the Guadua a. may be performed using the monomer mixture St: MMA: BuA in relation 2: 2: 1 respectively, adding 1.0% PBO and 0.5% dodecyl mercaptan, carried at 55°C for less than 90 minutes. BuA concentration was set to achieve a Tg of at least 60°C. Vacuum infiltration of substances for tissue fixation, glutaraldehyde 2.5% and FAA solution, within small specimens of Guadua a., did not change the size of the vessels of metaxylem, and increased the crystallinity index. The compressive and flexural strength results, indicated that heat treatment, chemical treatment and impregnation with polymers, improved mechanical properties. Also that the water absorption decreased, and the dimensional variation was reduced.Doctorad

Migraciones e identidades en vida feliz de un joven llamado Esteban, de Santiago Gamboa

El presente análisis asume la figura del migrante como una elaboración cultural producto de los desplazamientos globales en la época contemporánea, escribiendo este individuo como un ser incompleto en constante cambio y construcción. Este análisis se realiza a la luz de los postulados sociológicos sobre la migración global, sus causas y consecuencias en la obra vida feliz de un joven llamado Esteban, del escritor colombiano Santiago Gamboa. Las construcciones literarias de los personajes migrantes de la obra de Gamboa se edificaron haciendo uso de los símbolos e imágenes de los diversos países que visita el protagonista de la obra, estos símbolos ayudan a definir la identidad de los diversos personajes. El rastreo de estas imágenes se hizo con la ayuda de la imagología, la rama de la literatura comparada que se encarga del estudio de las imágenes en las obras literarias.The present analysis assumes the figure of the migrante as a cultural developed, as a product of the global displacements in the contemporary time, describing the main character as an incomplete being that is in constant change and construction. This analysis is done on the light of the sociological postulates about the global migration, their reasons and consequencesbased on the book Vida feliz de un joven llamado Esteban , written by the Colombian author Santiago Gamboa. The literary constructions of the migrant characters of Gamboa's book, were built by the use of symbols and images of the different countries that the main character visits, these symbols help to define the identity of the diverse prominent figures. Phenolic Profile, Antioxidant Capacities and Enzymatic Inhibitory Activities of Propolis from Different Geographical Areas: Needs for Analytical Harmonization

Propolis is a resinous vegetal exudate modified by bees, and is interesting as a preservative and potentially functional product. This work dealt with studying the common phenolic profiles and antioxidant capacities of 13 bee propolis from different geographical areas. Both hyaluronidase and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activities were also assessed and related when possible with particular phenolic compounds. High performance liquid chromatography‐ultraviolet detection (HPLC‐UV) analysis showed that every propolis contained p‐coumaric acid (1.2–12.2 mg/g) and ferulic acid (0.3–11.0 mg/g). Pinocembrin, catechin, and caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) plus galangin were the main flavonoids. Antioxidant activities were higher than 280 μmol trolox/g for trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC), 0.099 mmol uric acid/g for radical‐scavenging effect on hydroxyl radicals, and 0.19 mg/mL for half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of antioxidant activity against superoxide anion radical. Working with solutions of 10 mg/mL propolis, hyaluronidase inhibitory activity ranged between 0% and 68.20%, being correlated to ferulic acid content. ACE inhibitory effect determined by HPLC was higher than 78%, being correlated with catechin and p‐coumaric acid. Therefore, propolis could be useful for food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic companies, also helping to reduce risk factors for diseases related to oxidative damage, inflammatory processes, and hypertension.
