    Physical limitations of travel time based shallow water tomography

    Travel-time-based tomography is a classical method for inverting sound-speed perturbations in an arbitrary environment. A linearization procedure enables relating travel-time perturbations to sound-speed perturbations through a kernel matrix. Thus travel-time-based tomography essentially relies on the inversion of the kernel matrix and is commonly called ‘linear inversion. In practice, its spatial resolution is limited by the number of resolved and independent arrivals, which is a basic linear algebra requirement for linear inversion performance. Physically, arrival independency is much more difficult to determine since it is closely related to the sound propagating channel characteristics. This paper presents a brief review of linear inversion and shows that, in deep water, the number of resolved arrivals is equal to the number of independent arrivals, while in shallow water the number of independent arrivals can be much smaller than the number of resolved arrivals. This implies that in shallow water there are physical limitations to the number of independent travel times. Furthermore, those limitations are explained through the analysis of an equivalent environment with a constant sound speed. The results of this paper are of central importance for the understanding of travel-time-based shallow water tomography

    DROGAS VASOATIVAS: CONHECIMENTO DA EQUIPE DE ENFERMAGEM

    Objetivo: avaliar o conhecimento da equipe de enfermagem sobre a administração de drogas vasoativas. Método: estudo descritivo, transversal e quantitativo, realizado com 119 profissionais de enfermagem em sete unidades de terapia intensiva. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizada uma ficha para caracterização da amostra e foi desenvolvido um instrumento contendo 14 questões de múltipla escolha que avaliavam o conhecimento sobre o preparo, a instalação e a manutenção da infusão das drogas vasoativas. Na análise das médias das respostas obtidas nas avaliações, foi considerada satisfatória uma nota igual ou superior a 5,0. Resultados: as médias foram de 6,6 (dp ±1,6) para os auxiliares de enfermagem, 6,7 (dp ± 1,6) para os técnicos de enfermagem e 7,8 (dp ± 1,0) para os enfermeiros. Conclusão: a equipe de enfermagem das unidades estudadas possui conhecimento sobre a administração de drogas vasoativas.Descritores: Segurança do paciente; Drogas vasoativas; Unidade de terapia intensiva; Enfermagem; Conhecimento

    Lean service and its implications in the quality of the service of the aircraft industry companies: A systematic review of the literature

    Providing a high-quality service has become an important factor for the survival of companies and generating customer satisfaction, therefore airlines must improve the quality they offer in order to improve their image. There are various methods used to evaluate and optimize the quality of airline service, including lean tools. The purpose of this research is to determine what research has been carried out on the quality of service and lean service in the commercial aviation sector based on a systematic review of the literature, in order that airlines can evaluate future improvement proposals to avoid dissatisfaction generated and improve your profitability. The findings show the various dimensions that are related to lean service, giving rise to new studies, its link with the commercial aviation sector and other service areas. Likewise, lean service in this sector could be applied and focus on reducing check-in times at airports or reducing boarding times

    Bienestar psicológico y uso de redes sociales en estudiantes del primer ciclo en el Instituto ICT, Huancayo 2021

    En la presente investigación se estableció como objetivo determinar la relación entre Bienestar psicológico y Uso de redes sociales en estudiantes del primer ciclo en el Instituto ICT, Huancayo 2021, la investigación fue de tipo básica, de diseño no experimental correlacional. La población tipo censal, compuesta por 93 estudiantes del primer ciclo en el Instituto ICT; se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y el instrumento aplicado fue el cuestionario con la escala de Likert, la validez se realizó con juicio de 3 expertos y la confiabilidad por alfa de Cronbach donde se obtuvo un coeficiente de confiabilidad de 0,891 y 0,959 respectivamente para el Bienestar psicológico y Uso de redes sociales. En la investigación se obtuvo en mayor porcentaje (51,6%) en el nivel de tendencia bajo en el Bienestar psicológico frente al nivel alto (3,2%). Asimismo, para la variable Uso de redes sociales el mayor porcentaje se obtuvo en el nivel alto (51,6%) y un menor porcentaje (9,7%) en el nivel bajo. Es así para el contraste de la hipótesis general se obtuvo una correlación Spearman de -,499 y p valor < 0,01, concluyéndose que existe correlación inversa moderada entre la variable Bienestar psicológico y el Uso de redes sociale

    As perdas de água e a energia elétrica despendida para elevar a água são os fatores que mais contribuem para os custos das empresas que operam os sistemas de abastecimento. Neste trabalho é proposta uma metodologia para avaliar técnica e economicamente o aumento da capacidade de armazenamento de água em reservatórios associados as estações elevatórias, onde a flexibilidade energética disponibilizada pelos grupos de bombagem é explorada com o objetivo de reduzir custos com a energia elétrica, desviando as bombagens nos períodos em que as tarifas são mais caras para períodos mais baratos.Como estudo de caso,a metodologia foi aplicada a uma estação elevatória da empresa EPAL,considerando vários cenários para o aumento da capacidade de armazenamento. Os resultados obtidos mostram uma redução de 74% das bombagens em hora de ponta, quando se aumenta a capacidade de armazenamento utilizando um reservatório auxiliar de 10.000 m3.A avaliação dos indicadores económicos revelaram prazos de retorno do investimento na sua construção de 14, 13, 12 anos, para uma previsão de aumento do preço da tarifa energética de -1%, 0%, 1%,respetivamente, e valores atuais líquidos de aproximadamente € 150.000, € 290.000 e€ 425.000.Water losses and the electricity used to pump water are the factors that most contribute to the costs of water supply companies. In this work, a methodology is proposed to assess the benefits introduced by the increase of the water storage capacity in reservoirs associated with pumping stations, where the flexibility provided by the pumping groups is explored with the objective of reducing costs with the electric energy by transferring the water pumping in expensive periods to cheaper ones.As a case study, the methodology isapplied to an EPAL pumping station, considering several scenarios for increasing the storage capacity. The results obtained show a 74% reduction in pumping at peak hours, when the storage capacity is increased using an auxiliary reservoir with 10.000 m3 capacity.Economic indicators revealed 14, 13 and12-year terms for return on investment associated withthe construction of the reservoir for electricity price increases of -1%, 0%, 1%over the period of analysis, respectively,and net present values of approximately € 150,000, € 290,000 and € 425,000

    La presente tesis se desarrolló en la Minera Yanacocha en la zona denominada CARACHUGO 14 en Cajamarca, Perú, con el objetivo general proponer maniobras con maquinaria para optimizar el movimiento de tierras en Carachugo 2022. Así mismo comparar estas maniobras de equipo pesado con las maniobras teóricos. Para la realización de este proyecto se recopiló información entre los meses de julio y septiembre del 2021, mediante observación directa, medición y registro en formatos de reporte diario y de control de equipos. La funcionalidad de la maquinaria pesada que se detalla en esta investigación enfocada de acuerdo al tipo de material involucrado, nombrando las limitaciones y las características que inciden en la elección de ella, según sean las propiedades del suelo en que se trabaja. Como uno de los objetivos específicos de la investigación es optimizar el movimiento de tierras, usando maquinaria pesada, para las actividades de carguío con EXCAVADORA CAT 336DL con capacidad de 2.5 m3, empuje TRACTOR CAT D6T XL con capacidad de empuje de 1200m3/h y acarreo con VOLQUETE VOLVO 15 m3. Las maniobras reales obtenidos serán comparados con las maniobras dados por el fabricante, identificando factores adversos propios de un proyecto minero como son: clima, fallas mecánicas y operador. De dicha comparación se ha logrado determinar que las maniobras reales son menores a los indicados por el fabricante; así tenemos que la maniobra teórico para la excavadora CAT 336DL es de 450.00 m3/hora, y su maniobra real con horas efectivas es de 298.48 m3/hora, para el tractor CAT D6T XL su maniobra teórica es de 552 m3/h y su maniobra real con horas efectivas es de 421.87 m3/hora; finalmente para el volquete su maniobra teórica a una distancia de 2.60 km es de 90.28 m3/h y su maniobra real en ciclo promedio/min es de 13.47%.This thesis project was developed at Minera Yanacocha in the area called CARACHUGO 14 in Cajamarca, Peru, with the general objective of evaluating the performance of heavy machinery for the construction project of PAD CARACHUGO 14. Also compare these heavy equipment performances with the theoretical performances. In order to carry out this project, information was collected between the months of July and September 2021, through direct observation, measurement and recording in daily report and equipment control formats. The functionality of the heavy machinery that is detailed in this project is focused according to the type of material involved, naming the limitations and characteristics that affect the choice of it, depending on the properties of the soil in which it is worked. As one of the specific objectives of the research is to optimize real performance in earthworks, using heavy machinery, for loading activities with CAT 336DL EXCAVATOR with 2.5 m3 capacity, CAT D6T XL TRACTOR with a push capacity it is 1200 m3/h, and 15 m3 VOLVO TIPPER. The real yields obtained will be compared with the yields given by the manufacturer, identifying adverse factors typical of a mining project such as: weather, mechanical failures and operator. From this comparison it has been possible to determine that the real yields are lower than those indicated by the manufacturer; thus we have that the theoretical performance for the CAT 336DL excavator is 450.00 m3 / hour, and its real performance with effective hours is 298.48 m3 / hour, for the CAT D6T XL tractor its theoretical performance is 552 m3 / h and its actual performance with effective hours it is 421.87 m3 / hour; finally for the tipper the theoretical performance at a distance of 2.60 km is 90.28 m3 / h and its real performance in average cycle / min is 13.47%

    The TV-APM interface: a web service for collaborative modelling

    Current development of Internet access, together with available zero-cost Open Source applications (like, for instance, PHP, Python, etc.) can be integrated in order to minimize the constrains induced by the geographical separation of international centers, which collaborate in a given project. The advantage of such approach lies in the sharing of common analysis methods, without particular constrains to specific directions of analysis. The discussion presented in this paper describes the Time Variable Acoustic Propagation Model (TV-APM) web interface, which was created as a collaborative service of acoustic modeling for the participants of the PHITOM and UAN projects. This paper describes the general architecture of the interface, its current shortcomings and advantages, and presents a set of modeling results for short range acoustic propagation, which accounts for source–array and sea surface motion
