Educação para todos, nomeadamente a alunos com Perturbação do Espectro do
Autismo (PEA).
educativas e as dificuldades sentidas nesse processo.
The School is a promoter of different learning space, a rich space for sharing
experiences, construct of the human being, while individuality itself, and as a social
being. The Portuguese education system consolidates access to education for all,
including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
In this study, we focus on the issue of Evaluation of Inclusion Practices for students
with ASD. This is divided into two phases: the first, which is seeking the practices
implemented for Inclusion of students with ASD and the process and assessment tools,
which are used by the multidisciplinary team to improve the operation; and a second
phase consisting of the analysis of suggestion LAQI assessment tool to later verify
their usefulness and practicality in Portuguese context.
In order to guide the study, we developed a set of questions:
i) first phase: that educational practices are developed by professionals who intervene
with students with ASD?; that concepts and procedures to assess the quality of
practices for the inclusion of students with ASD are implemented?
ii) second phase: the assessment tool is useful in assessing the quality of inclusion
practices for students with ASD?; the LAQI fits the Portuguese context, regarding the
evaluation of educational practices for students with ASD?
In this sense, the study presents the following general objectives for the first phase: to
know how the team organizes educational provision for pupils with ASD; know the
process of assessing practices for the inclusion of students with ASD; know the opinion
of professionals about the usefulness of educational practices and the difficulties
encountered in this process. In the second phase, we tried to know the opinion of
professionals about the feasibility of using an assessment tool, with the suggestion to
LAQI (Quality Indicators of Autism for Schools - Louisiana).
In terms of tools and techniques of data collection and analysis used two semi-directive
interviews, document analysis and content analysis. This study involved the
participation of 5 special education teachers working in schools with UEE's in the area
of Lisbon and Loures. The study presents qualitative nature, a line of descriptiveinterpretative
nature.
Data analysis suggested that the inclusion practices are implemented and that the
family plays an active role in the education of the students' progress with ASD.Teamwork is weak, although there is a tendency to change this reality. Some
constraints interfere in team dynamics: lack of common time to gather, little
involvement of some educators and the fact that therapists are being affections to
schools. On the other hand, the evaluation practices carried out by the team, but excel
their informal character. For the implementation of the evaluation process, the results
earn the need for an organized and established process, with guidelines, supporting
documentation and availability of assessment tools. They also report that the need for
specific training in the field of evaluation for the quality of inclusive practices.
Regarding the use of LAQI assessment tool, it is concluded that it is appropriate and
feasible to Portuguese context of completion. Raises some doubts about the wording
of some descriptors and quantifiers, however this perception may be possibly related to
the translation aspects of LAQI or the differentiation of contexts. The instrument comes
as an added value in supporting the evaluation process because it allows reflect a
team and improve the quality of the answers to the inclusion of students with ASD
reflexão colaborativa na (re)construção de concepções e práticas de avaliação;
identificar potencialidades e constrangimentos da colaboração no desenvolvimento
profissional.
desenvolvimento profissional: conduz à reestruturação do pensamento e das práticas;
facilita a reflexão crítica; predispõe à inovação das práticas; expande conhecimentos e
facilita a clarificação de conceitos; facilita a compreensão das concepções dos outros;
aprendizagens. This study intends to investigate the potential value of professional collaboration
for the re(construction) of conceptions and practices in the evaluation of students’
learning in Mathematics. It took place in a post-elementary school and was put into
practice by a working group formed before this investigation. The group is formed by
four teachers of Maths (including the researcher), who carried out a formative process
of reflection and intervention in evaluation.
The goals of the study were: to analyze conceptions and practices of evaluation; to
problematise formative evaluation (function, modalities, interaction with summative
evaluation, potential value, and constraints); to describe processes of collaborative
reflection in the (re)construction of conceptions and practices of evaluation; to identify
the potential value and constraints of collaboration in the professional development of
teachers.
The case study is both descriptive and interventional, and it adopts an interpretative
paradigm of educational research. The data collection strategies were: participant
observation, research journal, audio recording of the collaborative group sessions,
questionnaires and an interview.
As regards professional development, the following gains from collaboration were
identified: it fosters change in thought and practice; it enhances critical reflection; it
fosters disposition towards innovation; it broadens knowledge and enables the
clarification of concepts; it fosters understanding of others’ conceptions; it straightens
professional and personal relationships; it develops self-confidence and trust towards
change. Two main constraints were identified: teacher overload and the lack of time.
As regards the evaluation of learning, the most important changes were in the
teachers’ conceptions. Change in practices can become more systematic due to this
conceptual change. We also conclude that there is a big gap between what teachers say
and what they really do. Lack of time, the high number of students per class and lack of
information on evaluation are serious constraints to the implementation of formative
evaluation.
This study contributed to a better understanding of teachers’ conceptions and
practices of evaluation, the processes of collaboration, and for the development of a
more dynamic school where reflection on evaluation is enhanced in order to improve
learning
O Exercício Fraterno das Identidades de Gênero: A Transexualidade para Além da Liberdade e da Igualdade
Visibility and invisibility are very meaningful words to the community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex - LGBTTI. Compose this “alphabet soup” that represents the sex-diverse community means transit, lifelong, between invisibility and visibility. For lesbians and gays be visible implies publicly assume their sexual orientation; for transsexuals, transvestites, transgender and intersex people, visibility is compulsory at some point in their lives, since, unlike sexual orientation, which can be concealed by a lie by omission or by “closet”, the identity of Gender is experienced by people “trans” as a stigma that can not be hidden, as with skin color, for black men and women. In this paper will seek to analyze the performance of identities “trans” on the premise that free traffic between genders can not be treated as an issue linked to human sexuality, namely sexual orientation of the subject, but from a gender perspective, which will lead us to understand this issue as a fact linked to identity and not to psychological disorders. Also we analyze the contribution that the principle of fraternity can give to the exercise of such identities, taking into account the fact that freedom and equality (members of the French revolutionary triad) do not lend, isolated in both. With regard to methodology, we opted for the inductive approach method and procedure as the monographic method, using as a data collection technique the literature.
Objective: We aim to identify in the literature the knowledge and practices of Community Health Workers (CHWs) on health promotion.Method: This is an integrative literature review carried out in the MEDLINE/PUBMED, LILACS and BDENF databases, with full text articles in English, Portuguese or Spanish. We used the Thematic Analysis method, using tables for better systematization. Results / Discussion: It was possible to analyze that the CHW work processes are strongly associated with technical training. There are gaps in the production of knowledge about health promotion as a daily practice, with the presence of preventive actions and distribution of commodities/medications and collection of socio-demographic information and of the health situation of the population, leaving the production of care based on health promotion on the background. Conclusion: The discussions highlight the creation of bonds and empathy, as inseparable tools in the work of the CHW.Objetivo: Nuestro objetivo es identificar en la literatura el conocimiento y las prácticas de los Agentes de Salud de la Comunidad (ACS) sobre promoción de la salud.Método: Esta es una revisión integradora realizada en las bases de datos MEDLINE / PUBMED, LILACS y BDENF, de artículos completos en inglés, portugués o español.
Recurrent melanocytic nevi and melanomas in dermoscopy: results of a multicenter study of the International Dermoscopy Society
IMPORTANCE Differentiating recurrent nevi from recurrent melanoma is challenging. OBJECTIVE To determine dermoscopic features to differentiate recurrent nevi from melanomas. DESIGN, SETTING, AND PARTICIPANTS Retrospective observational study of 15 pigmented lesion clinics from 12 countries; 98 recurrent nevi (61.3%) and 62 recurrent melanomas (38.8%) were collected from January to December 2011. MAIN OUTCOMES AND MEASURES Scoring the dermoscopic features, patterns, and colors in correlation with the histopathologic findings. RESULTS In univariate analysis, radial lines, symmetry, and centrifugal growth pattern were significantly more common dermoscopically in recurrent nevi; in contrast, circles, especially if on the head and neck area, eccentric hyperpigmentation at the periphery, a chaotic and noncontinuous growth pattern, and pigmentation beyond the scar's edge were significantly more common in recurrent melanomas. Patients with recurrent melanomas were significantly older than patients with recurrent nevi (mean [SD] age, 63.1 [17.5] years vs 30.2 [12.4] years) (P<.001), and there was a significantly longer time interval between the first procedure and the second treatment (median time interval, 25 vs 8 months) (P<.001). In a multivariate analysis, pigmentation beyond the scar's edge (P=.002), age (P<.001), and anatomic site (P=.002) were significantly and independently associated with the diagnosis of recurrent melanoma in dermoscopy. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE Dermoscopically, pigmentation beyond the scar's edge is the strongest clue for melanoma. Dermoscopy is helpful in evaluating recurrent lesions, but final interpretation requires taking into account the patient age, anatomic site, time to recurrence, growth pattern, and, if available, the histopathologic findings of the first excision
Definiteness across languages
Definiteness has been a central topic in theoretical semantics since its modern foundation. However, despite its significance, there has been surprisingly scarce research on its cross-linguistic expression. With the purpose of contributing to filling this gap, the present volume gathers thirteen studies exploiting insights from formal semantics and syntax, typological and language specific studies, and, crucially, semantic fieldwork and cross-linguistic semantics, in order to address the expression and interpretation of definiteness in a diverse group of languages, most of them understudied. The papers presented in this volume aim to establish a dialogue between theory and data in order to answer the following questions: What formal strategies do natural languages employ to encode definiteness? What are the possible meanings associated to this notion across languages? Are there different types of definite reference? Which other functions (besides marking definite reference) are associated with definite descriptions? Each of the papers contained in this volume addresses at least one of these questions and, in doing so, they aim to enrich our understanding of definiteness
