Relats protagonitzats pel Rector de Vallfogona en el Manuscrit de Sabater Carbonell

L'article consta de dues parts. La primera descriu les característiques formals i, a grans trets,els continguts generals del manuscrit de Sabater Carbonell; i la segona, centrada en els relatsprotagonitzats pel Rector de Vallfogona, en presenta detalladament els continguts i les característiquessingulars. De l’autor, en aquest estat de recerca, encara no se’n pot oferir mésclarícies que les que es desprenen de l’anàlisi del manuscrit. El manuscrit està escrit amb cal·ligrafia clara en un volum imprès de comptes comercials de 600 pàgines numerades, 193 de lesquals són en blanc, i set fulls desapareguts que contenien, segons l’índex d’autor, «Barcelona1820 a 1840». Els materials tenen indicació, per bé que no sistemàtica, d’informants i d’anyde registre (des del 1898 fins al 1923). Els materials que conté són miscel·lanis: etnopoèticareligiosa diversa, parèmies, endevinalles, embarbussaments, fórmules mnemotècniques, mimologismes,jocs, cançons, tradicions, rondalles i llegendes, més algun material no etnopoètic.Els relats protagonitzats pel Rector de Vallfogona són d’extensió diversa i proporcionatsalmenys per quatre informants; dos no contenen ni any ni informant. Democratic backsliding and the poverty of the European Commission’s conception of democracy

The European Commission has had a central role in debates over democratic backsliding in EU member states. But what type of democracy does the Commission uphold? Drawing on an analysis of speeches by European Commissioners, Alvaro Oleart and Tom Theuns write the Commission tends to articulate a technocratic and legalistic conception of democracy. ‘From the 2005 Constitution’s ‘Permissive Consensus’ to TTIP’s ‘Empowering Dissensus’: The EU as a Playing Field for Spanish Civil Society’,

The negotiations of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) saw the development of a transnational campaign that gained momentum as the negotiations reached a critical status, including in Spain. The Spanish anti-TTIP campaign is interesting in that it has gained some salience among media, civil society, trade unions and some political parties in a country where trade and EU affairs are rarely controversial. In order to explain the transformation of the attitudes of Spanish civil society vis-à-vis the EU in the case of TTIP, we formulated descriptive and explanatory research questions, respectively: how is the mobilisation against TTIP different from the traditional involvement of Spanish civil society actors in EU issues? Why have actors which did not work together in previous campaigns cooperated in the case of TTIP? We analyse the Spanish anti-TTIP campaign, and we argue that the change of positions of Spanish civil society actors in relation to the EU in the case of TTIP can be explained on the basis of a change in the field, a notion that is suggestive because of the degree of continuity in the identity of the entrepreneurs of the anti-TTIP campaign in relation to past EU-critical mobilisations. Rather than an increased political cost of EU decision-making at national level, we argue that the introduction of EU-critical ideas can lead to an ‘empowering dissensus’ where the ability to mobilise citizens on EU issues acquires a renewed importance.
