    The article analyzes the significance and peculiarities of the use of verbal prefixes of the Ukrainian language (in particular the prefix пере-), which is relevant for the development of speech of foreigners studying the Ukrainian language. An attempt is made to classify verbs with the prefix пере-. Tasks are provided for memorizing verbs with the prefix пере-, exercises are proposed that anticipate performance of grammatical problems along with the ability to use means of stylistic expressions of language, such as synonyms, antonyms and idioms. Examples are given of the usage of the verbal prefix пере- in various texts. (У статті проаналізовано значення і особливості використання дієслівних префіксів української мови (зокрема префікса пере-), що актуально для розвитку мовлення іноземців, які вивчають українську мову. Зроблена спроба класифікувати дієслова з префіксом пере-. Наведено завдання для запам’ятовування дієслів з префіксом пере-, запропоновано вправи, які передбачають поряд із виконанням граматичних завдань уміння використовувати засоби стилістичного увиразнення мови: синоніми, антоніми, фразеологізми. Подано приклади вживання дієслівних префіксів пере- в різних текстах.

    Exploring Parents’ Experiences of Raising a Child with Sensorimotor Impairments and Expectations for Leisure Participation

    Background: The objective of this descriptive study was to study parents’ experiences of raising a child with sensorimotor impairments and how leisure pursuits impact their expectations of their children. The development and participation in leisure activities is different for these children and could affect the parents’ hopes and dreams for their child’s future. Method: Six children between 5 and 8 years of age, with sensorimotor impairments, participated in a movement program that was held for eight sessions at an outpatient pediatric clinic to address praxis and sensory processing impairments. Six parent dyads were interviewed during the fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth session of the program. Areas addressed in the semi-structured interviews included parenting challenges, school experiences, and sensorimotor impairments effect on the child’s leisure participation. Results: Five themes emerged following the interviews: (a) nobody prepares you for sensory problems, (b) positive and negative school support, (c) when they already feel left out or behind, (d) I know the team sports are 100% sensory, and (e) life challenges. Conclusion: The parents provided the practitioners with insight into their everyday lives, and this information is essential for making occupational therapy services more family-centered

    Developmental appearance of proteins identified by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis in mouse gonadal tissue

    Gonadal protein patterns of the mouse were studied during fetal development by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Fetal mice at days 8.5, 10.5, 12.5, and 14.5 post-coitum were analyzed for male or female specific proteins. Although no sex specific proteins were found, several proteins were found which were expressed in significantly different amounts in the two sexes at about the time of gonadal differentiation.     Testing a Model of Care for Patients on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Based on Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes: Protocol for a Randomized Phase II Controlled Trial.

    Management of severe symptomatic immune-related adverse events (IrAEs) related to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) can be facilitated by timely detection. As patients face a heterogeneous set of symptoms outside the clinical setting, remotely monitoring and assessing symptoms by using patient-reported outcomes (PROs) may result in shorter delays between symptom onset and clinician detection. We assess the effect of a model of care for remote patient monitoring and symptom management based on PRO data on the time to detection of symptomatic IrAEs from symptom onset. The secondary objectives are to assess its effects on the time between symptomatic IrAE detection and intervention, IrAE grade (severity), health-related quality of life, self-efficacy, and overall survival at 6 months. For this study, 198 patients with cancer receiving systemic treatment comprising ICIs exclusively will be recruited from 2 Swiss university hospitals. Patients are randomized (1:1) to a digital model of care (intervention) or usual care (control group). Patients are enrolled for 6 months, and they use an electronic app to complete weekly Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General questionnaire and PROMIS (PROs Measurement Information System) Self-Efficacy to Manage Symptoms questionnaires. The intervention patient group completes a standard set of 37 items in a weekly PROs version of the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (PRO-CTCAE) questionnaire, and active symptoms are reassessed daily for the first 3 months by using a modified 24-hour recall period. Patients can add items from the full PRO-CTCAE item library to their questionnaire. Nurses call patients in the event of new or worsening symptoms and manage them by using a standardized triage algorithm based on the United Kingdom Oncology Nursing Society 24-hour triage tool. This algorithm provides guidance on deciding if patients should receive in-person care, if monitoring should be increased, or if self-management education should be reinforced. The Institut Suisse de Recherche Expérimentale sur le Cancer Foundation and Kaiku Health Ltd funded this study. Active recruitment began since November 2021 and is projected to conclude in November 2023. Trial results are expected to be published in the first quarter of 2024 and will be disseminated through publications submitted at international scientific conferences. This trial is among the first trials to use PRO data to directly influence routine care of patients treated with ICIs and addresses some limitations in previous studies. This trial collects a wider spectrum of self-reported symptom data daily. There are some methodological limitations brought by changes in evolving treatment standards for patients with cancer. This trial's results could entail further academic discussions on the challenges of diagnosing and managing symptoms associated with treatment remotely by providing further insights into the burden symptoms represent to patients and highlight the complexity of care procedures involved in managing symptomatic IrAEs.     Statistical Mechanics of Glass Formation in Molecular Liquids with OTP as an Example

    We extend our statistical mechanical theory of the glass transition from examples consisting of point particles to molecular liquids with internal degrees of freedom. As before, the fundamental assertion is that super-cooled liquids are ergodic, although becoming very viscous at lower temperatures, and are therefore describable in principle by statistical mechanics. The theory is based on analyzing the local neighborhoods of each molecule, and a statistical mechanical weight is assigned to every possible local organization. This results in an approximate theory that is in very good agreement with simulations regarding both thermodynamical and dynamical properties

    A meta-analysis of long-term effects of conservation agriculture on maize grain yield under rain-fed conditions

    Conservation agriculture involves reduced tillage, permanent soil cover and crop rotations to enhance soil fertility and to supply food from a dwindling land resource. Recently, conservation agriculture has been promoted in Southern Africa, mainly for maize-based farming systems. However, maize yields under rain-fed conditions are often variable. There is therefore a need to identify factors that influence crop yield under conservation agriculture and rain-fed conditions. Here, we studied maize grain yield data from experiments lasting 5 years and more under rain-fed conditions. We assessed the effect of long-term tillage and residue retention on maize grain yield under contrasting soil textures, nitrogen input and climate. Yield variability was measured by stability analysis. Our results show an increase in maize yield over time with conservation agriculture practices that include rotation and high input use in low rainfall areas. But we observed no difference in system stability under those conditions. We observed a strong relationship between maize grain yield and annual rainfall. Our meta-analysis gave the following findings: (1) 92% of the data show that mulch cover in high rainfall areas leads to lower yields due to waterlogging; (2) 85% of data show that soil texture is important in the temporal development of conservation agriculture effects, improved yields are likely on well-drained soils; (3) 73% of the data show that conservation agriculture practices require high inputs especially N for improved yield; (4) 63% of data show that increased yields are obtained with rotation but calculations often do not include the variations in rainfall within and between seasons; (5) 56% of the data show that reduced tillage with no mulch cover leads to lower yields in semi-arid areas; and (6) when adequate fertiliser is available, rainfall is the most important determinant of yield in southern Africa. It is clear from our results that conservation agriculture needs to be targeted and adapted to specific biophysical conditions for improved impact

    Fifteen new risk loci for coronary artery disease highlight arterial-wall-specific mechanisms

    Coronary artery disease (CAD) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although 58 genomic regions have been associated with CAD thus far, most of the heritability is unexplained, indicating that additional susceptibility loci await identification. An efficient discovery strategy may be larger-scale evaluation of promising associations suggested by genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Hence, we genotyped 56,309 participants using a targeted gene array derived from earlier GWAS results and performed meta-analysis of results with 194,427 participants previously genotyped, totaling 88,192 CAD cases and 162,544 controls. We identified 25 new SNP-CAD associations (P < 5 × 10(-8), in fixed-effects meta-analysis) from 15 genomic regions, including SNPs in or near genes involved in cellular adhesion, leukocyte migration and atherosclerosis (PECAM1, rs1867624), coagulation and inflammation (PROCR, rs867186 (p.Ser219Gly)) and vascular smooth muscle cell differentiation (LMOD1, rs2820315). Correlation of these regions with cell-type-specific gene expression and plasma protein levels sheds light on potential disease mechanisms
