An expert system for nausea and vomiting problems in infants and children
Infants and children are suffering from a lots of nausea and vomiting problems. Doctors, usually face various difficulties dealing
with these problems because of their similarities. In this paper, we present an expert system to help users in getting the correct
diagnosis of problems of nausea and vomiting in infants and children (Gastro-esophageal reflux, Gastroenteritis, Systemic Infection, Bowel obstruction, Tumors, A bleeding disease, tonsillitis, and Hepatitis pharynx). Furthermore, this expert system provide information about the disease and how to deal with it. SL5 Object expert system language was used to design and implement this expert system
Enhancing the Properties of Marl Soils for Effective Construction in Saudi Arabian Region
Marl, containing primarily carbonate (CaCO3) and clays of different percentages with occasional traces of organic matter, silt or sand is usually used as bases and sub-bases for roads and highways. Marl is usually used as sub-grade layers or as a backfill in base and sub-base layers for roads and highways. This type of soil has poor strength and high water sensitivity; a drastic loss of bearing capacity may occur upon immersion.Due to its poor strength and high water sensitivity, appropriate treatment from engineering perspective is necessary before such soils are recommended for use in any construction project. Critical analysis of different stabilization techniques employed in Saudi Arabia for last 30 years has been carried to find the best technique. Mechanical and chemical treatments were found to be more economical than Drainage, dewatering and other techniques. It has been noticed that no study was done in stabilization of Marl Soil using Geo-synthetics technique Hence, it can be an alternate way for future research to improve marl.Marl, containing primarily carbonate (CaCO3) and clays of different percentages with occasional traces of organic matter, silt or sand is usually used as bases and sub-bases for roads and highways. Booksâ Rating Prediction Using Just Neural Network
Abstract: The aim behind analyzing the Goodreads dataset is to get a fair idea about the relationships between the multiple attributes a book might have, such as: the aggregate rating of each book, the trend of the authors over the years and books with numerous languages. With over a hundred thousand ratings, there are books which just tend to become popular as each day seems to pass. We proposed an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model for predicting the overall rating of books. The prediction is based on these features (bookID, title, authors, isbn, language_code, isbn13, # num_pages, ratings_count, text_reviews_count), which were used as input variables and (average_rating) as output variable for our ANN model. Our model were created, trained, and validated using data set in JNN environment, which its title is âGoodreads-booksâ. Model evaluation showed that the ANN model is able to predict correctly 99.78% of the validation samples
How discrimination in schools effects acculturation in Arab Americans
Using a focus group approach, this exploratory study explored how experiences of discrimination in US schools may influence the acculturative process in Arab American youth
Robotic bilateral nephrectomy for large polycystic kidney disease
Abstract Objective This study aims to describe our technique and review our experience with synchronous robotic bilateral nephrectomy for large kidneys in ADPKD with the da Vinci XI and da Vinci Single Port platforms (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, CA). Materials and Methods We performed a retrospective review of all robotic bilateral nephrectomy cases from January 2020 to present at a highâvolume robotic single centre. Demographic data and perioperative details including preoperative CT scans, indication for nephrectomy and renal function were collected. We also collected postâop course data and final specimen data details. Results Fourteen cases were included. Patient demographics, indications for surgery and specimen data are outlined in Table 1. The largest kidney removed has a measurement of 32âcm in the largest dimension on preoperative imaging. Median operating time from incision to closure was 299âmin (IQR 260, 339). Median estimated blood loss was 75âcc (IQR 50, 187.5). Two patients were transfused intraoperatively. Median preâ and postâoperative Hgb was 11.0 and 9.6, respectively. Median length of stay was 3âdays (IQR 2, 3.5). There were no intraoperative complications and no open conversions. Postâoperative complications included one incisional hematoma and one superficial wound infection. One patient was admitted to the surgical ICU post operatively for ventilatory support. Two patients were readmitted within 30âdays of surgery. Conclusion The robotic approach to bilateral native nephrectomy for ADPKD should be considered when native nephrectomies are indicated. The operative times and outcomes are favourable compared with prior series, and this technique works even for very large kidneys
