Diet composition of freshwater crab, Potamon koolooense Rathbun, 1904 from hillstream of Uttarakhand
The present study was carried out to study the diet composition of freshwater crab, P. koolooense in hillstream Khoh of Uttarakhand during November, 2013 to October, 2014. Total 105 crab samples were used for the study, 35 male and 47 female were found with food in their stomach while rest of the 23 had empty stomachs. The carapace length (CL) ranged from 12mm to 49mm, carapace width (CW) from 15mm to 59mm and total weight (TW) from 2.08g to 60.12g. Stomach content analysis of the animal showed that the diet of the animal composed of animal matter, plant matter, algae, fungi, debris and unidentified materials. Animal matter ranged from (3.27-11.93%), plant matter (4.37-14.44%), algae (1.73-6.15%), fungi (0.17-1.43%), debris (28.18-40.47%) and unidentified materials (36.46-50.05%) in males while in the female animal matter ranged from (3.09-12.34%), plant matter (4.45-12.73%), algae (1.03-7.61%), fungi (0.02-3.34%), debris (23.18-43.34%) and unidentified (30.31-51.04%). Unidentified materials recorded maximum and fungi recorded minimum in both the sexes of Potamon koolooense. A significant difference was observed at p<0.05 between food groups- algae and unidentified matter in both sexes. This is the first report, to key out and quantifies the dietary items and feeding habits of crab in Uttarakhand which would be helpful in interpreting the ecological niche of the animal in mountain stream communities
Explicit MBR All-Symbol Locality Codes
Node failures are inevitable in distributed storage systems (DSS). To enable
efficient repair when faced with such failures, two main techniques are known:
Regenerating codes, i.e., codes that minimize the total repair bandwidth; and
codes with locality, which minimize the number of nodes participating in the
repair process. This paper focuses on regenerating codes with locality, using
pre-coding based on Gabidulin codes, and presents constructions that utilize
minimum bandwidth regenerating (MBR) local codes. The constructions achieve
maximum resilience (i.e., optimal minimum distance) and have maximum capacity
(i.e., maximum rate). Finally, the same pre-coding mechanism can be combined
with a subclass of fractional-repetition codes to enable maximum resilience and
repair-by-transfer simultaneously
Effect of Plasma Irradiation on films
The effect of plasma irradiation is studied systematically on a 4H polytype
(002) oriented stoichiometric film having compressive residual
stress. Plasma irradiation was found to change the orientation to (110) of the
film at certain moderate irradiation distances. A linear decrease in grain size
and residual stress was observed with decreasing irradiation distance (or
increasing ion energy) consistent with both structural and morphological
observations. The direct optical energy gap was found to increase
linearly at the rate with the compressive stress. The
combined data of present compressive stress and from earlier reported tensile
stress show a consistent trend of change with stress. The
iodine-iodine distance in the unit cell could be responsible for the observed

Schedule of Factors Influencing Adherence (SOFIA) to Psychiatric Treatment in Persons with Schizophrenia: Validity and Pilot Testing
Qualitative research has highlighted the complex interplay of multiple factors that preclude persons with schizophrenia in rural Indian settings for discontinued psychiatric treatment. In this context, this paper aims to establish the face and content validities of an interview schedule titled „Schedule of Factors Influencing Adherence (SOFIA) to Psychiatric Treatment in Persons with Schizophrenia‟ which comprehensively assesses factors for discontinued psychiatric treatment and the feasibility of its administration of the schedule. SOFIA contains 16 factors. This schedule involves three phases of interviewing patients and family members. This was given to twelve experts who used likert scales to rate each items wells as the dimensions of the schedule. Later on, fifteen persons with schizophrenia were interviewed with SOFIA to test the feasibility of administration. The results showed that Fourteen items were rated as either satisfactory (score=4) or very much satisfactory (score=5) by all twelve experts; remaining two were rated as 4 or 5 by 11 experts. Regarding comprehensiveness of the factors, scoring methods and general instructions given to the interviewers, all provided scores > 4; regarding method of interviewing, 11 provided score of > 4; with regard to overall interview schedule, all experts provided scores > 4. Pesticide pollution is on increase through its increasing application in almost every field either it is household or agriculture where it is used widely. These pesticides reach to aquatic life by means of runoff water and other ways. The residual impact is increasing in aquatic fauna. Fishes are the best indicator of aquatic pollution and also used for human consumption. The residual effect adversely affects the liver marker enzymes (in serum) of fishes which are measured and discussed in the present study to assess the extent of damage caused by non-target effect of famfos to Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch.)
IMAGES II. A surprisingly low fraction of undisturbed rotating spiral disks at z~0.6: The morpho-kinematical relation 6 Gyrs ago
We present a first combined analysis of the morphological and dynamical
properties for the Intermediate MAss Galaxy Evolution Sequence (IMAGES) sample.
It is a representative sample of 52 z~0.6 galaxies with Mstell from 1.5 to 15
10^10Msun and possessing 3D resolved kinematics and HST deep imaging in at
least two broad band filters. We aim at evaluate robustly the evolution of
rotating spirals since z~0.6, as well as to test the different schemes for
classifying galaxies morphologically. We used all the information provided by
multi-band images, color maps and 2 dimensional light fitting to assign to each
object a morphological class. We divided our sample between spiral disks,
peculiar objects, compact objects and mergers. Using our morphological
classification scheme, 4/5 of identified spirals are rotating disks and more
than 4/5 of identified peculiar galaxies show complex kinematics, while
automatic classification methods such as Concentration-Asymmetry and GINI-M20
severely overestimate the fraction of relaxed disk galaxies. Using this
methodology, we find that the fraction of rotating spirals has increased by a
factor ~ 2 during the last 6 Gyrs, a much higher fraction that found previously
based on morphologies alone. These rotating spiral disks are forming stars very
rapidly, doubling their stellar masses over the last 6 Gyrs, while most of
their stars have been formed few Gyrs earlier, which reveals the presence of a
large gas supply. Because they are likely the progenitors of local spirals, we
can conjecture how their properties are evolving. Their disks show some
evidence for an inside-out growth and the gas supply/accretion is not made
randomly as the disk need to be stable in order to match the local disk

Quaternion Gravi-Electromagnetism
Defining the generalized charge, potential, current and generalized fields as
complex quantities where real and imaginary parts represent gravitation and
electromagnetism respectively, corresponding field equation, equation of motion
and other quantum equations are derived in manifestly covariant manner. It has
been shown that the field equations are invariant under Lorentz as well as
duality transformations. It has been shown that the quaternionic formulation

Demonstration of Universal Parametric Entangling Gates on a Multi-Qubit Lattice
We show that parametric coupling techniques can be used to generate selective
entangling interactions for multi-qubit processors. By inducing coherent
population exchange between adjacent qubits under frequency modulation, we
implement a universal gateset for a linear array of four superconducting
qubits. An average process fidelity of is estimated for
three two-qubit gates via quantum process tomography. We establish the
suitability of these techniques for computation by preparing a four-qubit
maximally entangled state and comparing the estimated state fidelity against
the expected performance of the individual entangling gates. In addition, we
prepare an eight-qubit register in all possible bitstring permutations and
monitor the fidelity of a two-qubit gate across one pair of these qubits.
Across all such permutations, an average fidelity of
is observed. These results thus offer a path to a scalable architecture with
high selectivity and low crosstalk
The devices, experimental scaffolds, and biomaterials ontology (DEB): a tool for mapping, annotation, and analysis of biomaterials' data
The size and complexity of the biomaterials literature makes systematic data analysis an excruciating manual task. A practical solution is creating databases and information resources. Implant design and biomaterials research can greatly benefit from an open database for systematic data retrieval. Ontologies are pivotal to knowledge base creation, serving to represent and organize domain knowledge. To name but two examples, GO, the gene ontology, and CheBI, Chemical Entities of Biological Interest ontology and their associated databases are central resources to their respective research communities. The creation of the devices, experimental scaffolds, and biomaterials ontology (DEB), an open resource for organizing information about biomaterials, their design, manufacture, and biological testing, is described. It is developed using text analysis for identifying ontology terms from a biomaterials gold standard corpus, systematically curated to represent the domain's lexicon. Topics covered are validated by members of the biomaterials research community. The ontology may be used for searching terms, performing annotations for machine learning applications, standardized meta-data indexing, and other cross-disciplinary data exploitation. The input of the biomaterials community to this effort to create data-driven open-access research tools is encouraged and welcomed.Preprin
