Integrators on homogeneous spaces: Isotropy choice and connections

We consider numerical integrators of ODEs on homogeneous spaces (spheres, affine spaces, hyperbolic spaces). Homogeneous spaces are equipped with a built-in symmetry. A numerical integrator respects this symmetry if it is equivariant. One obtains homogeneous space integrators by combining a Lie group integrator with an isotropy choice. We show that equivariant isotropy choices combined with equivariant Lie group integrators produce equivariant homogeneous space integrators. Moreover, we show that the RKMK, Crouch--Grossman or commutator-free methods are equivariant. To show this, we give a novel description of Lie group integrators in terms of stage trees and motion maps, which unifies the known Lie group integrators. We then proceed to study the equivariant isotropy maps of order zero, which we call connections, and show that they can be identified with reductive structures and invariant principal connections. We give concrete formulas for connections in standard homogeneous spaces of interest, such as Stiefel, Grassmannian, isospectral, and polar decomposition manifolds. Finally, we show that the space of matrices of fixed rank possesses no connection

On the Lie enveloping algebra of a post-Lie algebra

We consider pairs of Lie algebras $g$ and $\bar{g}$, defined over a common vector space, where the Lie brackets of $g$ and $\bar{g}$ are related via a post-Lie algebra structure. The latter can be extended to the Lie enveloping algebra $U(g)$. This permits us to define another associative product on $U(g)$, which gives rise to a Hopf algebra isomorphism between $U(\bar{g})$ and a new Hopf algebra assembled from $U(g)$ with the new product. For the free post-Lie algebra these constructions provide a refined understanding of a fundamental Hopf algebra appearing in the theory of numerical integration methods for differential equations on manifolds. In the pre-Lie setting, the algebraic point of view developed here also provides a concise way to develop Butcher's order theory for Runge--Kutta methods.Comment: 25 page

Invariant connections, Lie algebra actions, and foundations of numerical integration on manifolds

Motivated by numerical integration on manifolds, we relate the algebraic properties of invariant connections to their geometric properties. Using this perspective, we generalize some classical results of Cartan and Nomizu to invariant connections on algebroids. This has fundamental consequences for the theory of numerical integrators, giving a characterization of the spaces on which Butcher and Lie-Butcher series methods, which generalize Runge-Kutta methods, may be applied.Comment: 18 page

On post-Lie algebras, Lie--Butcher series and moving frames

Pre-Lie (or Vinberg) algebras arise from flat and torsion-free connections on differential manifolds. They have been studied extensively in recent years, both from algebraic operadic points of view and through numerous applications in numerical analysis, control theory, stochastic differential equations and renormalization. Butcher series are formal power series founded on pre-Lie algebras, used in numerical analysis to study geometric properties of flows on euclidean spaces. Motivated by the analysis of flows on manifolds and homogeneous spaces, we investigate algebras arising from flat connections with constant torsion, leading to the definition of post-Lie algebras, a generalization of pre-Lie algebras. Whereas pre-Lie algebras are intimately associated with euclidean geometry, post-Lie algebras occur naturally in the differential geometry of homogeneous spaces, and are also closely related to Cartan's method of moving frames. Lie--Butcher series combine Butcher series with Lie series and are used to analyze flows on manifolds. In this paper we show that Lie--Butcher series are founded on post-Lie algebras. The functorial relations between post-Lie algebras and their enveloping algebras, called D-algebras, are explored. Furthermore, we develop new formulas for computations in free post-Lie algebras and D-algebras, based on recursions in a magma, and we show that Lie--Butcher series are related to invariants of curves described by moving frames.Comment: added discussion of post-Lie algebroid

Penanganan Limbah Sampah Plastik Berbasis Kearifan Lokal di Kelurahan Sirandorung Kabupaten Labuhanbatu

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara penyumbang sampah plastik terbesar di dunia. Oleh sebab itu, peran pemerintah dan masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan dalam penanganan permasalahan mengenai sampah, terutama pemanfaatan sampah plastik yang baik dan benar agar dapat menghasilkan output yang memuaskan bagi masyarakat sekitar. Kesadaran dari semua pihak masyarakat sangat diperlukan dalam hal pemanfaatan sampah, sebab tidak selamanya sampah plastik itu berdampak buruk dan tidak bernilai, jika diatasi dengan solusi yang tepat. Oleh karena itu memanfaatkan sampah plastik menjadi ecobrick adalah jalan untuk mengurangi sampah plastik yang ada, serta mendaur ulang dengan media botol plastik untuk dijadikan barang atau benda yang berguna (reuse) dan bernilai jual. Tehnik analisis data adalah rekduksi data, display data dan verifikasi data. Sedangkan subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru dan siswa SMP Negeri 1 Bambel Kutacane Aceh Tenggara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) program kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan kedisiplinan kerja guru meliputi program pembinaan guru, (2) kebijakan yang diambil kepala sekolah dalam bidang administrasi untuk meningkatkan komitmen terhadap motivasi dan kedisiplinan kerja guru di SMP Negeri 1 Bambel Kutacane Aceh Tenggara, (3) kendala yang dihadapi kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan kedisiplinan kerja guru meliputi tanggung jawab guru rendah, kurangnya kedisiplinan guru.Kata Kunci: Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah, Motivasi Kerja, dan Kedisiplinan Kerj

PENGARUH KEPEMIMPINAN BERBASIS NILAI DAN IKLIM SEKOLAH TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS SEKOLAH DASAR DI KABUPATEN SERDANG BEDAGAI

Efektivitas sekolah yang mengacu pada sejauhmana sekolah dapat mencapai tujuan dan sasaran pendidikan yang telah ditetapkan. Sekolah yang efektif merupakan sekolah yang mengalami peningkatan dan kemajuan dalam peningkatan mutu dengan kepemimpinan yang mampu mengembangkan nilai-nilai arif menjadi nilai sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan berbasis nilai dan iklim sekolah dalam menciptakan sekolah efektif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analisis, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data diperoleh dengan populasi 460 sekolah, namun dilakukan teknik stratified random sampling berdasarkan sekolah yang sudah terakreditasi untuk dijadikan sampel dan terpilih 48 sekolah sebagai sampel penelitian. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan berbasis nilai mempunyai hubungan dengan efektivitas sekolah dengan koefisien korelasi 0,264 dan memberikan pengaruh yang sebesar 7,0%. Iklim sekolah mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan efektivitas sekolah dengan koefisien korelasi 0,355 dan memberikan pengaruh yang sebesar 12,6%. Sedangkan pengujian kedua variabel kepemimpinan berbasis nilai dan iklim sekolah secara bersamaan mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan efektivitas sekolah dengan koefisien korelasi 0,463 dan memberikan pengaruh yang sebesar 21,5%. Kepemimpinan berbasis nilai di kabupaten Serdang Bedagai berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Iklim sekolah dasar di kabupaten Serdang Bedagai juga menunjukkan angka yang sangat tinggi. Efektitivitas sekolah menunjukkan nilai yang sangat tinggi. Mengembangkan berbagai strategi dalam setiap pelaksanaan pekerjaan dapat memungkinkan setiap guru mampu melaksanakan dan bekerjasama, melakukan forum informal dengan berkunjung ke ruang kerja guru untuk membahas perkembangan pencapaian tujuan sekolah, kepala sekolah dan guru datang ke tempat kerja tepat waktu, berpakaian rapi, sopan, memperhatikan etika cara berpakaian sebagaimana mestinya seorang pegawai.;---School effectiveness is measured by the achievement of settled educational goals and objectives. Effective school is an improving and progressing quality of school led by a leader who develops characters and values so it becomes the school values. The purpose of this reseach was to identify the impact of value-based leadership influencing the school effectiveness. The method used in this research was descriptive analysis in the framework of quantitative approach. The data was collected from 460 schools population, but had been simplified into 48 schools based on the stratified-random sampling. The results of hypothetical-test revealed that the value-based leadership correlated with the school effectiveness as much as 7.0%, with correlation coefficient of 0.264. In line with that, the school climate had also significantly correlate with the school effectiveness as much as 12.6%, with the 0.355 points of correlation coefficient. Furthermore, the test of both variables of value-based leadership and school climate showed signicifant correlation as much as 21.5% toward the school effectiveness, with the correlation coefficient of 0.463. Thus, it was safe to conclude that the value-based leadership in Serdang Bedagai was categorized into very high, in line with the school climate and the school effectiveness. Freedom of Religion in Jannah Al-Atfal (Heaven Of Children) The Works of Najib Mahfuz

This study based on the theory of structuralism Robert Stanton, which focuses on the elements of theme in short story Jannah al -At fal (Children of Heaven) by Najib Mahfuz. The result of study was found that the etching of religious freedom to children as a religious education it’s aims to instill competency mastery of basic religious knowledge, attitude differences religious and religious tolerance, interfaith friendship, think and act freely, child relationship and God the Creator, child and the particulars of life and death as well as children and happenings in heaven and hell.
