“(...) O mundo como representação (...) é antes de tudo apenas um fenômeno fisiológico” : intuição intelectual e percepção empírica em Arthur Schopenhauer

O presente artigo é parte modificada de um tópico do terceiro capítulo da dissertação de mestrado do autor, intitulada: Metáforas do corpo: reflexões sobre o estatuto da linguagem na filosofia do jovem Nietzsche, orientada pelo prof. Dr. Oswaldo Giacoia Jr, junto ao Departamento de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, e que foi defendida em abril de 2008.O presente artigo tem por objetivo discutir alguns dos principais argumentos de Arthur Schopenhauer sobre as condições de possibilidade do conhecimento a priori da experiência. Experiments on synthetic dimensions in photonics

The first and introductory section of the dissertation presents the working principle of a one- and two-dimensional photonic mesh lattice based on the time-multiplexing technique. The basis of a random walk interrelated to the corresponding light and quantum walk is comprehensively discussed as well. The second part of the dissertation consists of three experiments on a one-dimensional photonic mesh lattice. Firstly, the Kapitza-based guiding light project models the Kapitza potential as a continuous Pauli-Schrödinger-like equation and presents an experimental observation of light localization when the transverse modulation is bell-shaped but with a vanishing average along the propagation direction. Secondly, the optical thermodynamics project experimentally demonstrates for the first time that any given initial modal occupancy reaches thermal equilibrium by following a Rayleigh-Jeans distribution when propagates through a multimodal photonic mesh lattice with weak nonlinearity. Remarkably, the final modal occupancy possesses a unique temperature and chemical potential that have nothing to do with the actual thermal environment. Finally, the quantum interference project discusses an experimental all-optical architecture based on a coupled-fiber loop for generating and processing time-bin entangled single-photon pairs. Besides, it shows coincidence-to-accidental ratio and quantum interference measurements relying on the phase modulation of those time bins. The third part of the dissertation comprises two experiments on a two-dimensional photonic mesh lattice. The first project discusses the experimental realization of a two-dimensional mesh lattice employing short- and long-range interaction. To some extent, the second project presents a nonconservative system based on a two-dimensional photonic mesh lattice exploiting parity-time (PT) symmetry

Crítica como conquista do “pessimismo alemão” na Europa: atualização da filosofia alemã no pensamento de Nietzsche

The present article aims to discuss some aspects of the Nietzsche’s conception of critique in his later works in order to contextualize this in the 19th-Century German Philosophy. This task to accomplish we shall divide our text in three main arguments, to wit: (i) on the necessity of an uninterpretable interpretation and the limits of criticism that Nietzsche; (ii) the critique thinking as acquisition of the “German pessimism”. O presente artigo busca discutir alguns aspectos do conceito de crítica no pensamento maduro de Nietzsche, bem como contextualizá-lo no debate alemão oitocentista. "Isto não me representa": o consumo percebido dos homossexuais de João Pessoa em relação ao mercado segmentado

Homosexuals represents a significant niche of market not only about his dimensions, understandthe plenty subjectivity present at the relation between gay subculture with his consumption, especially for the targeted market, may be the success factor for companies that wish to work with the gay public. The paucity of studies that deal with the homosexuals consumption at Paraíba, results in the lack of knowledge about this public for the local gay market, which suffers from constant establishmentsclosing. The aim of this researchis to analyze the perceived consumption of homosexuals from João Pessoa about the targeted market. To achieve this, was raised the consumers profile, discussed their consumption habits and was identified their attitudes about the gay and the general market. Was chosen to use data collection triangulation: 213 surveys were applied to homosexuals, 4 interviews with entrepreneurs of the local gay market and the simple observation of these consumer environments. The results indicated that homosexuals from João Pessoa are mostly male, white, young, above average schooling, spend a lot of money on entertainment, clothing, and usually eat outside. In the view of the Theory of Planned Behavior attitudes were favorable for both markets. Although not satisfied with the local gay market, had higher intention of buying in the gay market.Os homossexuais representam um relevante nicho de mercado não só pelo seu tamanho, se compreendida a rica subjetividade existente na relação da subcultura gay com o consumo, especialmente do seu mercado segmentado, pode ser a chave para o sucesso das empresas que desejam trabalhar com este público. A escassez de trabalhos que abordem o consumo dos homossexuais na região, acarreta na falta de conhecimento sobre esse público para o mercado gay local, o qual sofre com constantes estabelecimentos fechando. Este estudo procurou analisar o consumo percebido dos homossexuais de João Pessoa em relação ao mercado segmentado. Para isso, levantou-se o perfil dos consumidores, foi discutido os seus hábitos de consumo e identificados as atitudes quanto ao mercado gay e o geral. Optou-se por o uso da triangulação na coleta de dados: foram aplicados questionários com os homossexuais, obtendo 213 respostas válidas, realizadas 4 entrevistas com os empreendedores do mercado gay local e a observação simples desses ambientes de consumo. Os resultados indicaram que os homossexuais de João Pessoa são em sua maioria homens, brancos, jovens, escolaridade acima da média, gastam muito com entretenimento, roupas, e costumam comer fora de casa. À luz da Teoria do Comportamento Planejado as atitudes foram favoráveis para ambos mercados. Embora não satisfeitos com o mercado gay local, se mostraram com maior intenção de compra no mercado gay

Programa de uma filosofia da linguagem racionalista : à guisa de uma (re)atualização do Crátilo de Platão

O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar e discutir algumas das teses centrais de Platão no diálogo Crátilo concernentes à teoria da verdadeira nomeação. Mais precisamente, pretende-se discutir a contra-perspectiva de Sócrates à perspectiva de Hermógenes, no mencionado diálogo, acerca do estatuto do “nome” na verdadeira significação das coisas. Dessa contra-perspectiva surge a proposta segundo a qual uma teoria da verdadeira significação das coisas não pode ser fundada por uma “linguagem natural”, mas unicamente por uma “linguagem” purificada de qualquer conteúdo sensível.The goal of the present article is to present and discuss some of the central Plato's theses in the dialogue Cratylus concerning the theory of true denomination. More precisely, we intend to discuss the counter-view of Socrates to Hermogenes’ perspective in the mentioned dialogue about the status of “name” in the true meaning of things. From this counter-view appears the proposal that which a theory of true meaning of things cannot be founded by a “natural language”, but only by a “language” purified of any sensitive content

Teses sobre o estatuto subjetivo do significar e comunicar em Kant e Nietzsche

O presente artigo tem por objetivo, na primeira parte, explorar algumas teses gerais apresentadas por recente pesquisa de Josef Simon acerca do estatuto da linguagem na filosofia de Kant, em especial no que tange ao modo de significar e comunicar presente nas reivindicações de verdade dos juízos. Em segundo lugar, pretende-se pontuar a crítica de Nietzsche a um modo de significar e comunicar ao qual denomina “gregário”, contrapondo-o a uma comunicação e significação “individualizada”. Como apontamos no final, a visada interlocução entre Kant e Nietzsche acerca do significar e comunicar se dará segundo um aspecto central: o fator subjetivo presente em qualquer reivindicação discursiva da razão.The present article aims, in the first part, to explore some general theses presented by recent research of Josef Simon concerning the status of language in Kant's philosophy, especially regarding the mode of signification and communication present in the claims for truth of judgment. In the second part, it is intended to point out Nietzsche's critique of a mode of meaning and communication, which he calls "gregarious", confronting it to "individualized" communication and meaning. As it is pointed out in the conclusion, the intended dialogue between Kant and Nietzsche on this theme occurs according to a central aspect: the subjective factor present in any discursive claim of human reason
