    Reflexões sobre a empatia e a escuta ativa no contexto escolar

    This study aimed to reflect on the need for empathy and active listening in the school context in the light of assumptions and considerations of Positive Discipline (PD) and Non-Violent Communication (NVC). Grounding this reflection theoretically, contributions from Rogers (1980) on active listening, Nelsen (2016), with reflections on Positive Discipline, Rosemberg (2006), on Non-Violent Communication, among others, as well as contributions from the BNCC were considered. (2018). This work is based on qualitative research, so that the focus privileged the interpretation of the object, given its relevance for the understanding of the work. Methodologically, a bibliographical review was chosen, namely, a non-systematic narrative review with an exploratory bias in order to make considerations. Finally, it was noticed that empathy and active listening can contribute to the construction of a welcoming culture to overcome the sufferings to which public school adolescents are subjected. Este estudo objetivou refletir sobre a necessidade da empatia e da escuta ativa no contexto escolar à luz de pressupostos e considerações da Disciplina Positiva (DP) e da Comunicação Não Violenta(CNV). Fundamentando essa reflexão teoricamente, foram consideradas contribuições de Rogers (1980) sobre a escuta ativa, Nelsen (2016), com reflexões sobre a Disciplina Positiva, Rosemberg (2006), acerca da Comunicação Não Violenta, entre outros, bem como de aportes da BNCC (2018). Este trabalho se pauta em pesquisa qualitativa, de modo que o enfoque privilegiou a interpretação do objeto, dada a relevância deste para a compreensão do trabalho. Optou-se metodologicamente por uma revisão bibliográfica, a saber, uma revisão narrativa não sistemática com viés exploratório em busca de tecer considerações. Por fim, percebeu-se que a empatia e a escuta ativa podem contribuir para a construção de uma cultura de acolhimento para superação dos sofrimentos a que estão submetidos os adolescentes da escola pública

    Boas práticas na gestão da cadeia de suprimentos: experiência de um hospital de referência

    Historicamente as atividades econômicas impactam em menor ou maior grau no meio ambiente, seja por meio das tecnologias utilizadas, recursos consumidos ou tipo de resíduos produzidos. As instituições de saúde, são organizações complexas, que gerenciam muitos processos e produtos. Assim, para haver um gerenciamento eficiente e eficaz das informações na organização, faz-se necessário estabelecer procedimentos de maneira estruturada, que forneça aos gestores condições de alcançar os objetivos definidos pela organização. O objetivo desse estudo é apresentar em forma de relato de experiência as estratégias de estão da Cadeia de Suprimentos adotadas em um hospital de referência na região norte. Como resultados foram identificados que na Instituição é utilizado um sistema de informação para gerenciar estoque (Soul MV). A forma de aquisição dos produtos para a saúde são por meio de licitação ou por dispensa, os materiais são solicitados em parcelas para os fornecedores, otimizando o espaço interno para armazenamento, como forma de melhor distribuição de medicamentos e insumos foi criado centros de distribuição satélites, localizados próximos aos maiores consumidores (UTI, Centro Cirúrgico, etc.). Vale ressaltar a experiência pioneira no atendimento ao centro cirúrgico, onde são preparados diariamente kits personalizados por tipo de cirurgia. Como conclusão, destaca-se a importância de investimento na Cadeia de Suprimentos, pois a eficácia das intervenções na gestão do fluxo de informações na logística hospitalar podem impactar positivamente na qualidade de vida dos pacientes

    The germline mutational landscape of BRCA1 and BRCA2 in Brazil

    The detection of germline mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 is essential to the formulation of clinical management strategies, and in Brazil, there is limited access to these services, mainly due to the costs/availability of genetic testing. Aiming at the identification of recurrent mutations that could be included in a low-cost mutation panel, used as a first screening approach, we compiled the testing reports of 649 probands with pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants referred to 28 public and private health care centers distributed across 11 Brazilian States. Overall, 126 and 103 distinct mutations were identified in BRCA1 and BRCA2, respectively. Twenty-six novel variants were reported from both genes, and BRCA2 showed higher mutational heterogeneity. Some recurrent mutations were reported exclusively in certain geographic regions, suggesting a founder effect. Our findings confirm that there is significant molecular heterogeneity in these genes among Brazilian carriers, while also suggesting that this heterogeneity precludes the use of screening protocols that include recurrent mutation testing only. This is the first study to show that profiles of recurrent mutations may be unique to different Brazilian regions.     Neurostimulation Combined With Cognitive Intervention in Alzheimer’s Disease (NeuroAD): Study Protocol of Double-Blind, Randomized, Factorial Clinical Trial

    Despite advances in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), there is currently no prospect of a cure, and evidence shows that multifactorial interventions can benefit patients. A promising therapeutic alternative is the use of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) simultaneously with cognitive intervention. The combination of these non-pharmacological techniques is apparently a safe and accessible approach. This study protocol aims to compare the efficacy of tDCS and cognitive intervention in a double-blind, randomized and factorial clinical trial. One hundred participants diagnosed with mild-stage AD will be randomized to receive both tDCS and cognitive intervention, tDCS, cognitive intervention, or placebo. The treatment will last 8 weeks, with a 12-month follow-up. The primary outcome will be the improvement of global cognitive functions, evaluated by the AD Assessment Scale, cognitive subscale (ADAS-Cog). The secondary outcomes will include measures of functional, affective, and behavioral components, as well as a neurophysiological marker (Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, BDNF). This study will enable us to assess, both in the short and long term, whether tDCS is more effective than the placebo and to examine the effects of combined therapy (tDCS and cognitive intervention) and isolated treatments (tDCS vs. cognitive intervention) on patients with AD.Clinical Trial Registration: www.ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier NCT02772185—May 5, 2016

    Biodiversity loss is one of the main challenges of our time,1,2 and attempts to address it require a clear un derstanding of how ecological communities respond to environmental change across time and space.3,4 While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by 2050.     Alterações musculares e esqueléticas cervicais em mulheres disfônicas

    Termo clínico, a disfonia envolve a todas as transformações e dificuldades durante a emissão vocal, as quais resultam no impedimento da produção normal da voz. Pacientes como esse problema, podem apresentar desequilíbrio da musculatura crâniocervical e laríngea e lesão orgânica subjacente. A disfonia resulta em modificações fonatórias, limitando atividades diárias relacionadas ao uso da voz, impactando na vida social e na qualidade de vida do indivíduo. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar alterações musculares e esqueléticas cervicais em mulheres com disfonia, conforme identificado na literatura científica sobre o tema. Para isso, realizou-se uma revisão integrativa de literatura, selecionando estudos nas bases de dados Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (Lilacs) e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline). A partir da análise qualitativa dos resultados, concluiu-se que dor intensa na região posterior do pescoço e na laringe se manifestam em mulheres disfônicas. Contribuem para isso a função prejudicada da articulação cervical e alterações da amplitude de movimento cervical. Com isso, compreende-se que o abuso vocal e o mau uso da voz como fatores mais comuns para a disfonia

    Mycobacterium abscessus subsp. massiliense (Mabs) causes chronic infections, which has led to the need for new antimycobacterial agents. In this study, we investigated the antimycobacterial and anti-inflammatory activities of the ethyl acetate fraction of Bixa orellana leaves (BoEA) and ellagic acid (ElAc). In silico analysis predicted that ElAc had low toxicity, was not mutagenic or carcinogenic, and had antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities. Apparently, ElAc can interact with COX2 and Dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) enzymes, which could explain both activities. In vitro analysis showed that BoEA and ElAc exerted antimicrobial activity against Mabs (minimum inhibitory concentration of 1.56, 1.56 mg/mL and bactericidal concentration of 6.25, 3.12 mg/mL, respectively. Clarithromycin showed MIC and MBC of 1 and 6 µg/mL). Treatment with BoEA or ElAc increased survival of Tenebrio molitor larvae after lethal infection with Mabs and reduced carrageenan-induced paw edema in mice, around 40% of edema volume after the fourth hour, similarly to diclofenac. In conclusion, BoEA and ElAc exert antimicrobial effects against Mabs and have anti-inflammatory effects, making them potential sources of antimycobacterial drugs. The biological activities of ElAc may be due to its high binding affinities predicted for COX2 and DHFR enzymes
