CdTe Raman Line Shape in Resonance: a Space Correlation Zone Study
We show that the line shape of resonant Raman spectra of CdTe can be reproduced using the spatial correlation model (SCM). Our results show that the resonant Raman spectrum for a surface with a RMS of 430 nm is characterized by the presence of two intense sharp peaks located at frequencies corresponding to LO and 2LOmodes. The resonant Raman spectrum for a surface with a RMS of 6 nm on the other hand, can be reproduced using the contribution of high frequency phonons related with the acoustic transverse harmonics. These results suggest that under resonance conditions, such acoustic transverse modes define the line shape for a small size correlation region diameter. This study provides a new application of SCM to estimate the size grain of a surface where this information is not available

Radiative open charm decay of the Y(3940), Z(3930), X(4160) resonances
We determine the radiative decay amplitudes for decay into and , or and of some of the charmonium like
states classified as X,Y,Z resonances, plus some other hidden charm states
which are dynamically generated from the interaction of vector mesons with
charm. The mass distributions as a function of the or
invariant mass show a peculiar behavior as a consequence of
the nature of these states. The experimental search of these
magnitudes can shed light on the nature of these states.Comment: 18 pages, 9 figure
Time of the day of exercise impact on cardiovascular disease risk factors in adults: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Objectives: To compare the effect of a single bout of morning vs. evening exercise on cardiovascular risk factors in
adults.
Design: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: A systematic search of studies was conducted using PubMed andWeb of Science from inception to June
2022. Selected studies accomplished the following criteria: crossover design, acute effect of exercise, blood pressure,
blood glucose, and/or blood lipids as the study's endpoint, awashout period of at least 24 h, and adults.Meta-analysis
was performed by analyzing: 1) separated effect of morning and evening exercise (pre vs. post); and 2) comparison
between morning and evening exercise.
Results: A total of 11 studies were included for systolic and diastolic blood pressure and 10 studies for blood glucose.
Meta-analysis revealed no significant difference between morning vs. evening exercise for systolic blood pressure
(g Δ=0.02), diastolic blood pressure (g Δ=0.01), or blood glucose (g Δ=0.15). Analysis of moderator variables
(age, BMI, sex, health status, intensity and duration of exercise, and hour within the morning or evening) showed
no significant morning vs. evening effect.
Conclusions: Overall, we found no influence of the time of the day on the acute effect of exercise on blood pressure
neither on blood glucose.Spanish Government FPU19/0374
Glutathione-Induced Release of Zeatin From Functionalized Gold Nanovectors
The paper shows our preliminary results on the different spectroscopic behavior of three types of gold nanoparticles (obtained respectively by chemical synthesis, laser ablation in pure water and laser ablation in a citrate solution) modified with trans-zeatin, a plant growth regulator, in presence of glutathione. The reaction of ligand substitution of the adsorbed zeatin with glutathione is studied through surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy and is revealed to occur only when citrate-laser ablated gold nanoparticles are employed, making these particles potentially good candidates as vehicles of zeatin inside plant cells for future agricultural applications

Reticulocyte Maturation Parameters Are Reliable Early Predictors of Hematopoietic Engraftment after Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation
AbstractEarly detection of donor-derived hematopoietic restoration after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) is a crucial issue in the management of heavily immunocompromised patients. The aim of this prospective study was to validate our previously defined cutoff values for reticulocyte maturation parameters as early predictors of hematopoietic engraftment. Importantly, the effect of clinical variables in reticulocyte engraftment was also sought. For this purpose, we prospectively studied 136 consecutive patients undergoing allo-SCT from related (n = 89) or unrelated (n = 47) donors. High fluorescence reticulocytes (RETH), immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF), mean fluorescence index (MFI), and mean reticulocyte volume (MRV) were automatically measured in peripheral blood samples drawn on a daily basis. We previously defined reticulocyte engraftment when MFI ≥10, RETH ≥3%, IRF ≥10%, and MRV ≥110 fL. Median neutrophil engraftment was 18 days (range, 10-35 days); for reticulocyte parameters, the values were 14 days for IRF (range, 7-45 days), 14 days for MFI (range, 7-43 days), 15 days for RETH (range, 7-43 days), and 21 days for MRV (range, 9-74 days). These differences reached statistical significance for MFI and IRF when compared with standard neutrophil recovery, even when analyzing siblings or unrelated donors separately. In univariate analysis, donor-recipient ABO disparity adversely influenced erythroid engraftment (P = .04 for IRF, P = .03 for MFI), but the infusion of >2.9 × 106/kg of CD34+ cells was associated with a shorter time to reach erythroid engraftment (P = .02 for IRF and MFI). In Cox regression analysis, ≥100/μL neutrophils and IRF ≥10% were predictive parameters for standard neutrophil engraftment. Based on these findings, we suggest that serial measurement of IRF or MFI should be routinely used to trace hematopoietic restoration after allo-SCT because these preceded standard neutrophil recovery by a median of 4 days and are therefore very useful to make clinical decisions
Study of the , , and in the radiative decays
In this paper we present an approach to study the radiative decay modes of
the into a photon and one of the tensor mesons ,
, as well as the scalar ones and .
Especially we compare predictions that emerge from a scheme where the states
appear dynamically in the solution of vector meson--vector meson scattering
amplitudes to those from a (admittedly naive) quark model. We provide evidence
that it might be possible to distinguish amongst the two scenarios, once
improved data are available.Comment: The large Nc argument improved; version published in EPJA
Globally-Linked Vortex Clusters in Trapped Wave Fields
We put forward the existence of a rich variety of fully stationary vortex
structures, termed H-clusters, made of an increasing number of vortices nested
in paraxial wave fields confined by trapping potentials. However, we show that
the constituent vortices are globally linked, rather than products of
independent vortices. Also, they always feature a monopolar global wave front
and exist in nonlinear systems, such as Bose-Einstein condensates. Clusters
with multipolar global wave fronts are non-stationary or at best flipping.Comment: 4 pages, 5 PostScript figure
