    A partir del relato Travelling de retroceso desde una gota de sangre que cae (Fernando Molero Campos, 2011), y del empleo que hace de este movimiento de cámara puramente cinematográfico, señalaré sus conexiones con la película Remordimiento (Ernst Lubitsch, 1932). A su vez, se sondeará su inclusión dentro de la corriente literaria antibélica y, sobre todo del cine del que toma discursos y motivos narrativos al desplegar técnicas fílmicas adaptadas a la escritura del texto. Se pretende así proyectar el análisis hacia un futuro abierto de vinculaciones intertextuales que el lector deberá ir completando y ampliando en función de sus intereses, experiencias y conocimientos.By analyzing the tale Travelling de retroceso desde una gota de sangre que cae (Fernando Molero Campos, 2001) and its use of the travelling camera movement, I will scrutinize its links to the film Broken Lullaby (Ernst Lubitsch, 1932). At the same time, this paper weighs the inclusion of the text in a concrete literary trend anti-war and, above all, cinema, whose discourse and narrative motives are absorbed in order to deploy film techniques adapted to the written word. In this way, our aim is to project the analysis toward an open future of intertextual connections that the reader must complete and broaden out depending on their interests, experiences and knowledge

    Relations and Effects of Transformational Leadership: A Comparative Analysis with Traditional Leadership Styles

    El presente trabajo persigue dos objetivos principales: (a) comparar las relaciones del liderazgo transformacional con otros estilos de liderazgo clásicos en la literatura organizacional, tales como el liderazgo democrático versus autocrático o el orientado a la tarea-orientado a las relaciones y (b) comparar los efectos del liderazgo transformacional y los estilos de liderazgo mencionados sobre la satisfacción y la eficacia de los empleados. Para cumplir dichos objetivos se seleccionó una muestra de 147 participantes que trabajaban en 35 equipos de trabajo diferentes. Los resultados demuestran la existencia de correlaciones muy elevadas entre el liderazgo transformacional, el liderazgo orientado a las relaciones, el liderazgo democrático y el liderazgo orientado a la tarea. También se encuentra que, tal como predice la literatura, el liderazgo transformacional, sobre todo en niveles altos, aumenta significativamente el porcentaje de varianza explicado por los otros estilos en algunas variables de resultado organizacional importantes (la ejecución de subordinados, satisfacción y esfuerzo extra).This study has two main goals: (a) to compare the relationship between transformational leadership and other important leadership styles (i.e., democratic versus autocratic or relations- and task-oriented leadership) and (b) to compare the effects of transformational leadership and the other styles on some important organizational outcomes such as employees’ satisfaction and performance. For this purpose, a sample of 147 participants, working in 35 various work-teams, was used. Results show high correlations between transformational leadership, relations-oriented, democratic, and task-oriented leadership. On the other hand, according to the literature, transformational leadership, especially high levels, significantly increases the percentage of variance accounted for by other leadership styles in relevant organizational outcome variables (subordinates’ performance, satisfaction and extra effort)

    En nuestro trabajo "Análisis de los contenidos de Historia en el ámbito educativo´´ hemos querido investigar la importancia de la asignatura dentro de la Educación Primaria y analizar los contenidos que la conforman. Dentro de la investigación hemos entrevistado a alumnos, docentes y futuros docentes para conocer su opinión sobre la misma, qué esperan de la asignatura y cuál creen que es la metodología correcta para impartirla y que sea motivante para ambos agentes educativos, también hemos analizado el papel que ha jugado la asignatura a lo largo de la historia de la educación en España y el papel que juega actualmente según los documentos oficiales, se podrá encontrar también análisis del material usado actualmente para impartir las clases, siendo estos libros de texto ya que es el material que usan los docentes que han sido entrevistados como base para sus sesiones, por ultimo podrán encontrar una propuesta didáctica que creemos motivante para los alumnos y con la que pueden aprender los contenidos que se exigen de una manera más interactiva y jugando ellos y ellas el papel protagonista en las clases.In our work "Analysis of the contents of History in the educational field '' we wanted to investigate the importance of the subject in Primary Education and analyze the contents that comprise it. Within the research we interviewed students, teachers and future teachers to know their opinion about it, what they expect from the subject and what they believe is the correct methodology to teach and that is motivating for both educational agents, we have also analyzed the role who has played the subject throughout the history of education in Spain and the role that currently plays according to official documents, you can also find analysis of the material currently used to teach the classes, these textbooks being that it is the material used by the teachers who have been interviewed as a basis for their sessions, finally they can find a didactic proposal that we believe motivating for the students and with which they can learn the contents that are required in a more interactive way and playing them and they protagonist role in the classes and playing, they will be the real protagonist in their classes.Universidad de Sevilla.     Validation of the Morale Questionnaire for Military Operational Theaters [Validación del cuestionario de moral para zonas de Operaciones Militares]

    AbstractTo assess the morale of the troops has been a concern of military leaders throughout history, mainly because of the level of involvement that this factor could have in the resolution of conflicts on the battlefield. The purpose of this research was to obtain evidence of the validity of the internal structure of the Morale Questionnaire used by the Spanish Armed Forces in military operations overseas.  Two subsamples of 250 Spanish soldiers deployed on an international mission in Lebanon participated in the study.  The questionnaire was applied at the beginning and at the end of the mission, respectly. The results obtained throughExploratory and Confirmatory Factorial Analysis and Structural Equation Modelling, allowed to assess the questionnaire statistically obtaining a tool that consists of 26 items, agglutinated in six factors. The theoretical dimensions of the original tool were mostly maintained. This will permit Spanish Armed Forces to have a reliable measuring instrument that will facilitate specific predictions about morale and its consecuences on the battlefield.ResumenEvaluar la moral de las tropas ha sido una preocupación de los líderes militares a lo largo de la historia, principalmente por el nivel de participación que este factor podría tener en la resolución de conflictos en el campo de batalla. El objetivo de esta investigación fue obtener evidencias sobre la validez de la estructura interna del cuestionario de moral utilizado por las Fuerzas Armadas Españolas en operaciones militares en el exterior. Dos submuestras de 250 soldados españoles desplegados en una misión internacional en Líbano participaron en el estudio. El cuestionario se aplicó al principio y al final de la misión. Los resultados obtenidos a través del Análisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio, así como el Modelo de ecuaciones estructurales, permitieron validar el cuestionario obteniendo estadísticamente una herramienta que consta de 26 ítems, aglutinados en seis factores. Las dimensiones teóricas de la herramienta original se mantuvieron en su mayoría. Esto permitirá a las Fuerzas Armadas españolas tener un instrumento de medición confiable que facilitará predicciones específicas sobre la moral y sus consecuencias en el campo de batalla

    A relação entre a discriminação percebida e o balanço afetivo em pessoas com deficiência física: o papel mediador do dominio do ambiente

    There is a large body of research showing that perceived discrimination has a negative effect on physical and mental health of persons belonging to different stigmatized groups. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between perceived discrimination and affective balance in people with physical disabilities. In addition, the mediating role of a special relevant variable -the environmental mastery (Ryff, 1989a) - is analyzed in relation to people with physical disabilities as a protective factor against negative discrimination. Participants in the study were 52 people with physical disabilities. Results showed that the negative relationship between perceived discrimination and affective balance is significantly reduced by introducing environmental mastery into the equation. It was also found that the age of the participants shows a positive association both with affective balance and environmental mastery. This research shows that to the extent that people with physical disabilities feel able to choose or create favorable environments, the negative effects of stigma are reduced.Numerosas investigaciones ponen de manifiesto que la discriminación percibida tiene un efecto negativo importante en la salud física y mental de las personas pertenecientes a diversos grupos estigmatizados. El objetivo del presente estudio es investigar la relación entre la discriminación percibida y el balance entre emociones positivas y negativas en personas con discapacidad física. Asimismo, se analiza el papel mediador de una variable especialmente relevante en relación con las personas con discapacidad física, el dominio del entorno (Ryff, 1989a), como factor protector de la influencia negativa de la discriminación. En el estudio participaron 52 personas con discapacidad física. Los resultados mostraron que la relación negativa entre la discriminación percibida y el balance afectivo se reduce significativamente al introducir el dominio del entorno en la ecuación. Asimismo, se encontró que la edad de los participantes está positivamente relacionada, tanto con el balance afectivo, como con el dominio del entorno. Esta investigación demuestra que en la medida en que las personas con discapacidad física se sienten con la habilidad personal de elegir o crear entornos favorables, los efectos negativos del estigma disminuyen.Numerosas pesquisas põem em evidência que a discriminação percebida tem um efeito negativo grande na saúde física e mental das pessoas pertencentes a diversos grupos estigmatizados. O objetivo do presente estudo é pesquisar a relação entre a discriminação percebida e o balanço entre emoções positivas e negativas em pessoas com deficiência física. Da mesma forma, analisa-se o papel mediador de uma variável especialmente relevante em relação com as pessoas com deficiência física, o domínio do ambiente (Ryff, 1989a), como fator protetor da influência negativa da discriminação. No estudo participaram 52 pessoas com deficiência física. Os resultados mostraram que a relação negativa entre a discriminação percebida e o balanço afetivo se reduz significativamente ao introduzir o domínio do ambiente na equação.     Valor em Risco (VaR) utilizando modelos de previsão de volatilidade: EWMA, GARCH e Volatilidade Estocástica

    This paper explores three models to estimate volatility: exponential weighted moving average (EWMA), generalized autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (GARCH) and stochastic volatility (SV). The volatility estimated by these models can be used to measure the market risk of a portfolio of assets, called Value at Risk (VaR). VaR depends on the volatility, time horizon and confidence interval for the continuous returns under analysis. For empirical assessment of these models, we used a sample based on Petrobras stock prices to specify the GARCH and SV models. Additionally, we adjusted these models by violation backtesting for one-day VaR, to compare the efficiency of the SV, GARCH and EWMA volatility models (suggested by RiskMetrics). The results suggest that VaR calculated considering EWMA was less violated than when considering SV and GARCH for a 1500-observation window. Hence, for our sample, the model suggested by RiskMetrics (1999), which uses exponential smoothing and is easier to implement, did not produce inferior violation test results when compared to more sophisticated tests such as SV and GARCH.   Este artigo explora três modelos utilizados para a estimativa da volatilidade: suavização exponencial – EWMA, volatilidade condicional – GARCH e volatilidade estocástica – VE. A volatilidade estimada por estes modelos pode ser utilizada em uma métrica de risco de mercado denominada Valor em Risco – VaR. A medida do VaR depende da volatilidade, do horizonte de tempo e do intervalo de confiança para os retornos contínuos em análise. Para a avaliação empírica destes modelos utilizamos uma amostra com preços de ações preferenciais da Petrobras para a especificação do GARCH e do modelo de VE. Adicionalmente realizamos testes para se verificar o ajustamento dos modelos à amostra selecionada. Nesse sentido utilizamos o teste de violação dos limites para um VaR de um dia, com intuito de comparar a eficiência dos modelos GARCH, VE e EWMA (sugerido pelo Riskmetrics). Pelos resultados verifica-se que o VaR calculado pelo EWMA sofreu um menor número de violações do que o calculado pelo GARCH e pela VE para uma janela de 1500 observações. Assim, o modelo sugerido pelo Riskmetrics (1999), utilizando a volatilidade calculada através da suavização exponencial, além de ser favorecido pela simplicidade em sua implementação, não forneceu resultados inferiores no teste de violação, comparado a modelos mais sofisticados como o de VE e o GARCH

    Avoidant Attachment, Withdrawal-Aggression Conflict Pattern, and Relationship Satisfaction: A Mediational Dyadic Model

    This study was conducted with the purpose of analyzing the combined and mediating effect of actor's withdrawal-partner's demand conflict resolution strategies between avoidance attachment dimension and relationship satisfaction. We conducted a dyadic study with 175 heterosexual couples (aged between 18 and 72 years) who filled in the questionnaires. Six hypotheses were tested using the actor-partner interdependence model with mediation analysis (APIMeM). Results showed that the avoidance dimension of attachment was more strongly associated with actor's withdrawal strategy than with demand/aggression strategy. Furthermore, avoidance attachment was negatively associated with both actor's and partner's relationship satisfaction, the actor effect being higher. Withdrawal strategy was a mediator between actor's avoidance and actor's relationship satisfaction, but it was not a mediator for partner's relationship satisfaction. The interactive pattern of actor's withdrawal-partner's demand/aggression was associated with low levels of both actor's and partner's relationship satisfaction.     The Effects of Occupational Status and Sex-Typed Jobs on the Evaluation of Men and Women

    Background: Occupational segregation by gender is one of the major problems faced by professional women in the labor market. Since the sixties, psychological explanations point out that gender stereotypes are responsible for this persistent inequality in the workforce. Nevertheless, most of research has overlooked that emotions are particularly important as the discrimination faced by professional women is better explained by the ambivalent feelings they provoke than by stereotyping.Aim: The aim of this research is to analyse from the Stereotype Content Model (SCM, Fiske et al., 2002) and the Behaviors from Intergroup Affect and Stereotypes (BIAS) Map (Cuddy et al., 2007) whether cognitive, affective and behavioral components of prejudice act jointly to explain gender segregation in the labor market.Method: 1098 Spanish workers (59% women) from different occupational sectors were requested to rate how professional men and women in high (leaders) and low status (secretaries) positions who work in male (high-tech company) and female-dominated (health company) occupations are perceived (stereotypes), as well as the affective responses and the behavioral tendencies that they arouse.Data analyses: Two analyses of variance (a) and two ANOVAs with repeated measures (b) were carried out to analyze the effect of occupational status (high vs. low), type of company (high-tech vs. health) and workers’ sex (men vs. women) on: (a) the social structural variables (status and competition), (b) on the stereotyped dimensions (competence and warmth) and (c) on emotions (admiration, envy and contempt). Finally, mediational analyses were carried out to examine the link between stereotypes, emotions, and behavioral tendencies.Results: The most striking results show that (a) competition and status differentiate leaders and secretaries, (b) men leaders are rated as more competent and less warm than secretaries, whereas women leaders are viewed as more competent than women secretaries but with equivalent warmth, and (c) admiration and envy predict behavioral tendencies, but restricted to professional men regardless of organizational context.Conclusion: Results reveal that cognitive, affective and behavioral components of prejudice act jointly to explain discrimination against women in the workplace. Findings are discussed according to the SCM and the BIAS Map
