    3D Camouflaging Object using RGB-D Sensors

    This paper proposes a new optical camouflage system that uses RGB-D cameras, for acquiring point cloud of background scene, and tracking observers eyes. This system enables a user to conceal an object located behind a display that surrounded by 3D objects. If we considered here the tracked point of observer s eyes is a light source, the system will work on estimating shadow shape of the display device that falls on the objects in background. The system uses the 3d observer s eyes and the locations of display corners to predict their shadow points which have nearest neighbors in the constructed point cloud of background scene.Comment: 6 pages, 12 figures, 2017 IEEE International Conference on SM

    Particulate matter concentrations and heavy metal contamination levels in the railway transport system of Sydney, Australia

    © 2018 Elsevier Ltd Sampling campaign was conducted over six weeks to determine particulate matter (PM) concentrations from Sydney Trains airport line (T2) at both underground and ground levels using DustTrak. Dust samples were collected and analysed for 12 metals (Fe, Ca, Mn, Cr, Zn, Cu, Pb, Al, Co, Ni, Ba and Na) by atomic emission spectroscopy. Average underground PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations from inside the trains were 2.8 and 2.5 times greater than at ground level. Similarly, PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations on underground platforms were 2.7 and 2.5 times greater than ground level platforms. Average underground PM concentrations exceeded the national air quality standards for both PM10 (50 µg/m3) and PM2.5 (25 µg/m3). Correlation analysis showed a strong to moderate association between PM concentrations at ground level and background PM concentrations (r2 from 0.952 to 0.500). The findings suggested that underground PM concentrations were less influenced by the ambient background than at ground level. The metal concentrations decreased in the order of Fe, Cr, Ca, Al, Na, Ba, Mn, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co and Pb. The pollution index (PI) and enrichment factor (EF) values were calculated to identify the levels and sources of contamination in the underground railway microenvironments. PM was remarkably rich in Fe with a mean concentration of 73.51 mg/g and EF of 61.31, followed by Ni and Cr. These results noticeably indicated a high level of metal contamination in the underground environments, with the principal contribution from track abrasion and wear processes

    SCREENING STUDY FOR FORMULATION VARIABLES IN PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CANDESARTAN CILEXETIL LOADED NANOSTRUCTURED LIPID CARRIERS

    Objective: The current study inspects the screening of the formulation components further, evaluates the physicochemical properties of the nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) for the antihypertensive drug as Candesartan Cilexetil (CC). The sequence screening of all excipients required for the preparation of NLCs should be performed. Methods: The prepared formulations were investigated for the different quality issues. The screening studies were performed to select the appropriate one of solid lipid, liquid lipid and surfactant. Also, investigation of physical compatibilities of solid lipid with liquid lipid and the ratios of them were evaluated. Furthermore, the physical characterization and quality issues of developed formulations were described and determined. Firstly, the solubility of CC in different solid and liquid lipids is the major parameter for the selection of the best one. Results:  Precirol® ATO 5, Compritol ® 888 ATO and Glyceryl Monostearate (GMS) were showed the maximum solubility of the CC (1000±4.12 mg, 1500±4.15 mg and 1750±3.16 mg), respectively. Hence, they were selected as the solid lipids for the development of NLCs. Liquid lipids Transcutol® HP (30±2.21 mg/ml), Labrasol® ALF (25±1.32 mg/ml) and CapryolTM 90 (18±1.34 mg/ml) were observed to have good affinity for the drug on systematic screening of different liquid lipids. All designed formulations observed in nanometer size of particles ranged from (408.9±11.5 to 114.6±8.3 nm) with high encapsulation efficiency around 99%.Also, the obtained results revealed that the ZP of the various formulations was consistently negative surface charge in between ((-13±2.3 to27.3±3.7 mV). Conclusion: Finally, formula number nine of CC (CC-NLC9) which composed of GMS (solid lipid), CapryolTM 90 (liquid lipid) and Lutrol® F127: Cremophore® RH (surfactants combination) was selected as the best formulation after the rank order for further investigations in the next work.  The current work clarifies a sequence steps for selection of excipients for NLCs by employing simple experiments.                                  Peer Review History: Received 20 December 2019;   Revised 5 January; Accepted 11 January, Available online 15 January 2020 Academic Editor: Ahmad Najib, Universitas Muslim Indonesia,  Indonesia, [email protected] UJPR follows the most transparent and toughest ‘Advanced OPEN peer review’ system.     Optimizing density, dynamic viscosity, thermal conductivity and specific heat of a hybrid nanofluid obtained experimentally via ANFIS-based model and modern optimization

    In this study, rGO/Co3O4 nanocomposite was synthesized, characterized, and then the thermophysical properties were obtained experimentally, after which the experimental data at varying values of temperature and particle loadings was used for optimization purposes. The study was concerned with different values of the controlling parameters. The in-situ/chemical reduction technique was used to synthesize the rGO/Co3O4 nanocomposite and then characterized with x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope, and magnetometry. The system was studied at temperature values ranging at 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 °C and with particle loadings of 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.2% wt%. The authors in this article have introduced a novel population-based algorithm that is known as Marine Predators Algorithm to obtain the optimal values of the controlling parameters (i.e., temperature and nanofluid mixture percentage) that minimize two controlled variables (i.e., density and viscosity) as well as maximize the other two controlled variables (thermal conductivity and specific heat). The rGO/Co3O4 nanocomposite nanofluid thermal conductivity and viscosity were investigated experimentally, and a maximum increment of 19.14% and 70.83% with 0.2% particle loadings at 60 °C was obtained. At 0.05%, 0.1%, and 0.2% particle loading wt%, the density increased by 0.115%, 0.23%, and 0.451% at a temperature of 20 °C; simultaneously, density increased by 0.117%%, 0.235%, and 0.469% at 60 °C, respectively as compared to water. At 0.2 wt%, the maximum decreased specific heat was 0.192% and 0.194% at 20 °C and 60 °C. When compared with water, no effect was observed with an increase in temperature/: a similar trend as that of the water was followed. The optimal values were found to be at a temperature of 60 °C and for 0.05% particle loading of the prepared nanofluid. However, among the conducted experiments, the optimizer pointed out that the optimal experiment was the one conducted at a temperature of 60 °C and a nanofluid percentage at 0.05. In conclusion, the proposed methodology of modelling with an artificial intelligence tool such as an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system technique and then determining the optimal parameters with the marine predators algorithm accomplished the goal of the study with major success.publishe

    Performance analysis of high-k materials as stern layer in ion-sensitive field effect transistor using commercial TCAD

    High-k materials as a STERN Layer for Ion-Sensitive-Field-Effect-Transistor (ISFET) have improved ISFET sensitivity and stability. These materials decrease leakage current and increase capacitance of the ISFET gate toward highest current sensitivity. So far, many high-k materials have been utilized for ISFET, yet they were examined individually, or using numerical solutions rather than using integrated TCAD environment. Exploiting TCAD environment leads to extract ISFET equivalent circuit parameters and performs full analysis for both device and circuit. In this study we introduce a comprehensive investigation of different high-k material, Tio2, Ta2O5, ZrO2, Al2O3, HfO2 and Si3N4 as well as normal silicon dioxide and their effects on ISFET sensitivity and stability. This was implemented by developing commercial Silvaco TCAD rather than expensive real fabrication. The results confirm that employing high-k materials in ISFET outperform normal silicon dioxide in terms of sensitivity and stability. Further analysis revealed that Titanium dioxide showed the highest sensitivity followed by two groups HfO2, Ta2O5 and ZrO2, Al2O3 respectively. Another notable exception of Si3N4 that is less than other materials, but still have higher sensitivity than normal silicon dioxide. We believe that this study opens new directions for further analysis and optimization prior to the real cost-ineffective fabrication

    Enhancement of boresight radiation for leaky wave antenna array

    An array of half-width microstrip leaky-wave antennas (HW-MLWAs) of two uniform elements was designed to obtain maximum boresight radiation. Achieve this, two uniform of HW-MLWAs are placed at 180◦ and fed by a probe located at the center between the elements, two uniforms of HW-MLWAs, loaded terminated by 50Ω lumped element. Two beams from two branches individual merge to form the resultant directive beam. The simulation represents the susceptibility of the proposed array of uniform HW-MLWAs to the radiation broadside direction effectively. The predict bandwidth matched of the array is 582 MHz (4.18–4.76 GHz). The direction of its main beam in boresight happens over a wide 13%, relatively (4.18-4.76 GHz) band. The proposed peak gain at the boresight direction of the array is 9.91 dBi

    An Unusual Cause of Rectal Bleeding -Report of Three Cases and Literature Review

    Haemangioma of the rectum and colon is very rare malformation with only around 100 cases have been reported so far. Most commonly young adult is affected. Common site is recto sigmoid junction. Here we present three cases of rectal haemangioma affecting two males and one female patient. All were having cavernous type of haemangioma at rectum and recto sigmoid junction with one involving additional caecum and ascending colon. All the cases were misdiagnosed previously. Colonoscopy is the cornerstone for evaluation of these patients showing bluish discoloration with engorged mucosa. Rectum and sigmoid colon are commonly affected. Abdominoperineal resection was the favored procedure in the past. At present, definitive treatment of diffuse cavernous haemangioma (DCH) of rectum and sigmoid colon is excision of the involved bowel with sphincter saving procedure with either stapling or hand sewn anastomosis of colon and anal canal.
