This paper will emulate the position of material within the compound of artistic practice, or refereed here within the practice of modern and contemporary art such as painting, sculpture, art installation. Objectively frame within a phenomenological perspective the discussion will show how domestically materials are understood and engage within and from an array of understandings that does not establish its location of it being just for the sake of usability or mean to an end, but that of dynamic and indebted to other entities which becomes an actor that institute meaning. As this is a conceptual paper the reading from such perspective will be interpretative where examples are taken and cross referred in connection towards the subject discuss. Such understanding is significant towards opening a way within the understanding itself that departs from a subscription that perceived material as being passive actor in the scheme of artistic practices. With such insight within this inquiry future set of engagement, be it conceptually or even practical, can be further develop by future art researchers or practitioners towards the question concerning material that goes beyond its mere usability understandin

In the meantime, the appearance of this exciting work is livelier and more widespread through social media sites and is known by the nickname "Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). Today's development and culture are the primary sources of current sharing when these mobile phone pictures become part of the critical image. Simultaneously, the objects through the angle of photographic change, especially the development of currents and the conventional transition to digital technology. Today's original and cultural definitions see from the cultural aspects that have an interrelationship between the direction of value by Kluchorn and Strodbeck and the measure in human problems by Inkeles

Purpose: This paper discusses the disadvantages of online learning in the context of studio practice -based that focuses on practical skills. Discussions are made by looking at various angles of teaching and learning toward the online method and its implications for the field of Visual Arts. Among the aspects discussed are social isolation, limited feedback, focus on theory rather on practice, lack of flexibility, and lack of transformational power. In general, online learning can only serve as a supporting method to the field of Visual Arts that focuses on the construction of practical skills, where conventional learning method which is characterized by practice-based learning is more appropriate and effective. Design/methodology/approach: Review approach. Findings: The best practices for online learning courses are still evolving and are much more difficult to implement especially in terms of learning methods that would be suitable and effective for all areas. Direct training, standard methods, approaches and processes through practice-based are the best practices and are much more established, well understood and more effective for teaching and learning in Visual Arts. Practical implications: Developing a truly effective online learning course requires time, money, and a huge amount of expertise. Good online learning courses involve multimedia, specialized web development, technical support, and strong user interaction design. If done incorrectly, it will disrupt and negatively impact the learning process because of the lack of time concentrations and space limitations. Originality/value: This paper is original. DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE FUTURE OF PHOTOGRAPHY CULTURE

    Get PDF
This paper aims to review the current situation on how Photography has completely changed the way we see and engage with the world. The shift from analogue to digital Photography significantly impacted how an analogue photographer perceives the photo process. In the age of these diverse prosumers, the distinction between artists, media professionals, and amateurs may still denote varying degrees of craftsmanship. However, it no longer indicates the inherent technical or aesthetic quality of the results or the likely size of an audience. The impacts give the impression that the aesthetics and attention of Photography provided revolution change in the society of arts and Photography. From this perspective, Photography has first been chemical, then optical and now computational. The changing identities of Photography herein are not simply ontological transformations but also errant modes of perceiving the medium

Composition of fatty acid methyl ester in microalgae Chlorella vulgaris : Comparison between various methods of harvesting, extraction and transesterification

    Get PDF
The aim of the study was to identify which of methods produces the highest yield of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) from microalgae. Different methods of harvesting (centrifugation, Cen & coagulation, Co), extraction (Test Tube, TT & Soxhlet, Sox) and transesterification (direct transesterification, d-trans & extraction transesterification, ext-trans) were considered. The procedures of this research consists of microalgae cultivation, harvesting of biomass and extraction of oil to obtain the lipid. The further process of converting lipid into FAME is followed by transesterification process. The FAME compositions of Chlorella vulgaris were analyzed using Gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC–MS). The main components were consists of palmitic, stearic and oleic acids for both transesterification methods. However, FAME extracted from d-trans contained more components (linoleic and linolenic acid) than ext-trans. Furthermore, the highest amount of FAME gained by ext-trans was produced by the method of centrifugation-test tube (Cen-TT). Although Cen-TT produced the highest amount of FAME for ext-trans, it still cannot meet the highest amount of FAME produced by d-trans. Therefore, the Cen-TT method was selected to be the best microalgae harvesting and extraction method in ext-trans meanwhile the most efficient transesterification method was d-trans
