Curso académico 2019[ES] Through this Final Degree Project I intend to make an approach to a modern and unexplored technology, virtual reality, focused on a scientific field, such as the simulation of driving and operation of a work vehicle. The success of the project depends on the credibility of the simulator, and that what happens in the virtual world realistically reflects the behavior of the real truck and of the interactions carried out by the user. For this reason, I will begin the work by showing a brief history of how Forklifts appeared and how their evolution has been over time, showing as a final result the different types, components, physics, operation and areas of operation in which it has led to today. This information will allow me to recreate the entire virtual environment in a more close to reality, so that the joint interaction achieves total immersion of the user in the application, providing realistic driving experiences. La principal intervenció que s'ha de desenvoluparés la renovació de la forma de la pròpia plaça amb l'enderroc de l'anella elevada i amb una nova distribució de la viabilitat. L'objectiu d'aquesta tesina es analitzar les repercussions urbanístiques, sociològiques i econòmiques, d'aquest canvi i copsar com el nou node dinamitzarà, a diferents nivells, la reconversió del sector a Llevant de la ciutat

We identified student profiles and examined their relationship with (1) certain sample characteristics, such as years of university experience, area of study and students’ gender, and (2) variables related to the process of writing, namely the students’ perception of the writing process and the importance they attribute to its characteristics. The data obtained came from the European Writing Survey (EUWRIT) which was administered to 1,044 students from nine Spanish universities. Profiles were identified by means of k-means cluster analysis. The relationship between these profiles and the variables studied was examined by means of chi-squared analyses and univariate ANOVAs. Two profiles were identified: students who are confident about their writing skills and who acknowledge the importance of writing in their field of knowledge; and students who are relatively confident about their writing ability and who consider writing to be relatively important in their subject areaEste estudio analiza la percepción de estudiantes universitarios españoles sobre su competencia en escritura académica y sobre el criterio que define la calidad de dicha escritura. Se identificaron los perfiles de estudiantes y se examinó su relación con (1) algunas características de la muestra — años de experiencia universitaria, ámbito de estudio de los estudiantes y su género; y (2) variables relacionadas con el proceso de escritura — las percepciones que los estudiantes tienen sobre el proceso de escritura y la importancia que atribuyen a las características de dicho proceso.     Body image in relation to self-esteem in a sample of spanish women with early-stage breast cancer

    Aim: Women diagnosed and surgically treated for early-stage breast cancer were studied to determine the influence that sociodemographic variables, type of surgery, amount of social support, and quality of life had on their body image and self-esteem. Method: Subjects n=54; Measures: Self Esteem Scale (Rosenberg, 1965), Body Image Questionnaire (authors´article) and E.O.R.T.C. (Quality of life) (Aaronson et al, 1988) Result and conclusions: Analyses of variance showed that married women reported a more positive body image than non married women, and so did women with a lumpectomy versus those with a mastectomy. These variables did not relate significantly to the patients’ self-esteem, which in turn was found to be higher in women aged 43-55 years old when compared to younger women. Correlational analyses revealed a significant negative correlation between the deterioration of quality of life after surgery and both body image andObjetivo : Analizar la influencia de determinadas variables (sociodemográficas, tipo de cirugía, tratamiento, apoyo social y calidad de vida) en la imagen corporal y la autoestima de mujeres con cáncer de mama. Por otra parte, las mujeres de edades intermedias (43-55 años) tenían mayor autoestima que las mujeres más jóvenes.     Influence of initial body weight, beak trimming, and inclusion of Na-butyrate in the diet on growth performance, body weight uniformity, and digestive tract traits of brown pullets from hatching to 16 wk of age

    The influence of initial BW and beak trimming on growth performance, BW uniformity, and gastrointestinal tract (GIT) traits was studied in brown pullets fed diets supplemented or not with 0.3% Na-butyrate (Butirex C4; Novation 2002 S. L.) from hatching to 16 wk of age. The GIT traits studied were the pH, relative weight (RW, g/kg BW), and fresh contents of the GIT organs and the relative length (cm/kg BW) of the small intestine and cecum, at 5, 10, and 16 wk of age. There were 12 treatments organized as a 2 × 2 × 3 factorial, with the initial BW of the pullets at hatching (34.2 vs. 37.9 g), beak trimming procedure [low (L-0) or high (H-0) intensity of infrared treatment applied at the hatchery, and traditional beak trimming at 8 d of age (F-8)], and inclusion of Na-butyrate in the diet (0 vs. 0.3%) as main effects. No interactions among main effects were detected for any of the variables studied and therefore, only main effects are presented

    Innovación socioeducativa para el apoyo de adolescentes en situación de acogimiento familiar

    Este artículo presenta los resultados de la investigación sobre los adolescentes acogidos en familias extensas. Este proyecto se sitúa en la investigación cooperativa. La muestra está compuesta por 57 jóvenes acogidos y 79 técnicos expertos en protección de la infancia de ocho regiones españolas. Los resultados indican que los jóvenes acogidos tienen deseos diferenciales que demandan una respuesta específica que hemos concretado en la creación del «programa de apoyo para adolescentes de acogida». A continuación se mostrarán las principales características de este programa; se hará, también, una reflexión sobre sus aspectos fundamentales, es decir, la ayuda a los técnicos para que ellos puedan obtener un nuevo recurso de formación e intervención grupal introduciendo como método la promoción de la resiliencia.Aquest article presenta els resultats de la recerca sobre adolescents acollits en família extensa. Aquest projecte se situa en la recerca cooperativa. La mostra està composta per 57 adolescents i 70 experts en protecció de la infància de vuit comunitats autònomes. Els resultats indiquen que els joves acollits tenen necessitats diferencials. A partir de la sistematització d'aquestes necessitats es va crear el «programa de suport per a adolescents d'acollida». A continuació es mostraran les principals característiques d'aquest programa i es farà, també, una reflexió sobre els aspectes fonamentals: les metodologies per als tècnics que han dut a terme el programa i la intervenció grupal introduint com a mètode la promoció de la resiliència.The aim of this article is to study the complexity of kinship foster care and to explore the social integration of foster children. This research project has been based on the cooperative research; the sample consists of 57 adolescents in kinship foster care and 79 child protection experts from 8 different Spanish regions. The results show that teenagers in kinship foster care require differential needs which demand a response which can be offered by the «Support program for teenagers in kinship foster care». In this article the main characteristics of this program are shown, as well as a reflection of its main issues: for instance, the support given to the technicians in order to create a new training and intervention group method and help them to introduce the promotion of the resilience as a perspective in their professional action with teenagers in kinship

    Information and Knowledge for Water Governance in the Networked Society

    In the last few years, parallel evolutionary processes in the socio-political, governmental and technological arenas have been providing new pathways for the collaborative generation, coordination and distribution of polycentric information. From a technological perspective, the proliferation of information and communication technologies (ICTs) has boosted the availability of information about our planet, along with its storage, processing and dissemination capabilities. The Worldwide Web and satellite and electronic sensors combined with smart phone technologies have also opened new means for social, political and scientific innovation. From a socio-political standpoint, the implementation of policies that encourage the reutilisation of data and protect the right to information of interested parties, together with growing social demands for transparency, have resulted in an increasing number of governments drawing strategies to open up public data. In this context, this paper addresses two main topics that we deem will be key drivers for improved water governance in the near future. First, it discusses new practices of collaborative and distributed generation and disclosure of information for water governance, and the resulting challenges and opportunities afforded by the use of ICTs. Second, it looks at the interplay between the uptake of ICTs and institutional frameworks, social dynamics and technological structures within which they operate to understand the extent to which ICTs affect decision-making processes and contribute to creating alternative spaces for the production of common services or alternative discourses. Despite the advances in open data policies, findings suggest that there remain significant challenges to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by ICTs, mostly derived from the structural conditions of existing models of decision-making, and information generation and management. It seems that the potentialities of ICTs as transformative tools are conditioned by the regeneration of the context within which decisions are made, that is, the democratic process itself
