Tecnologías comerciales de hidrólisis térmica de lodos de depuradora: revisión documental y comparativa.

    Get PDF

    Mobile Application for Emergencies Management

    Get PDF
The Bachelor Thesis presented in this document is based in the development of an application for Android devices oriented to everyone. The main objective of the application is to notify users about situations of emergency that happen near their location. The first of the principal functions of the application allows users to notify about situations witnessed considered as emergencies through an interface that allows the creation of voice messages that are sent to a server that will store them to notify other users. The second principal function of the application is being able to notify any emergency situation happening near the user. To do so, users are able to see a list of all emergencies near them, having the possibility to see in a map the exact location of each of the them. The server with which the communication is established has the responsibility to check that the emergencies sent by users are trustful by means of a sentimental analysis of the text sent through an external API provided by MeaningCloud. This analysis is carried out with the objective of assuring that the message is not sent with dishonest purposes. In addition, once the message truthfulness is verified, the text is analyzed in search of keywords with which it can be identified with a particular type of emergency. Moreover, all the data stored in the database is not only obtained from messages sent by users, it also includes emergencies sent directly from the official twitter account of the DGT (Dirección General de Tráfico) that are obtained by means of the Twitter API. The report includes an analysis of the tools and platforms used to develop the system. Some of these resources are the client-server paradigm, Android Studio, programming languages like Java for Android, Python or MySQL and, external APIs provided by MeaningCloud or Twitter. Finally, also the different parts in which the system is divided is described in depth, including the way in which they have been developed along with the decisions taken during their development.Ingeniería Informátic

Banking concentration, information asymmetries and credit rationing: The Argentinean case

    Get PDF
This paper highlights the importance of the information efficiency in the banking sector as a way to ensure his correct operation as financial intermediary and the correct functioning of the economy in general. The problems of information in the banks distort their relation with the financing demand and especially with the sector of the SMEs, what really means an important obstacle for the smooth operation of any market system. The analysis is centred in the relative size of the financial institutions, the generation of different types of information and the way how it affects the sector of the SMEs. By means of empirical evidence we will show how the greater size of the banks has influence on the creation of information systems that are not well adapted for some segments of the demand or even they do not generate information at all

Use of tire derived aggregate in tunnel cut-and-cover

    Get PDF
A case-history is reported in which tire derived aggregate (TDA) was successfully applied to reduce the weight of fill upon a cut-and-cover railway tunnel. Subsequent 3D numerical analyses are used to explore the effect of different assumptions about the constitutive model of the TDA material. Alternative dispositions of TDA around the tunnel section are also examined. Reductions of up to 60% in lining bending moment may be achieved. For the case analyzed the elastic description of the TDA has little influence on tunnel lining loads, although is important for fill settlement estimates.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Computer Tool for Automatically Generated 3D Illustration in Real Time from Archaeological Scanned Pieces

[EN] The graphical documentation process of archaeological pieces requires the active involvement of a professional artist to recreate beautiful illustrations using a wide variety of expressive techniques. Frequently, the artist’s work is limited by the inconvenience of working only with the photographs of the pieces he is going to illustrate. This paper presents a software tool that allows the easy generation of illustrations in real time from 3D scanned models. The developed interface allows the user to simulate very elaborate artistic styles through the creation of diagrams by using the available virtual lights. The software processes the diagrams to render an illustration from any given angle or position. Among the available virtual lights, there are well known techniques as silhouettes enhancement, hatching or toon shading.[ES] El proceso de documentación gráfica de piezas arqueológicas requiere de la participación de un artista capaz de recrear ilustraciones empleando distintas técnicas expresivas. Thanks to the Consejería de Innovación y Empresa of the Junta de Andalucía that has partially funded this article through the project of excellence PE09-TIC-5276Consejería de Innovación y Empresa of the Junta de Andalucía PE09-TIC-5276López, L.; Arroyo, G.; Martín, D. Coverage of Hybrid Terrestrial-Satellite Location in Mobile Communications

    Get PDF
This work studies the improvement in service coverage obtained by three different ways of hybridising (terrestrial and satellite) triangulation location methods for cellular networks. Though the authors assume that terrestrial cellular networks use Enhanced Observed Time Difference (E-OTD) in 2G or Observed Time Difference Of Arrival (OTDOA) in 3G, and that the satellite GNSS uses Assisted Global Positioning System (A-GPS), their analysis can easily be generalized to address any other triangulation method. A simple analytical model is presented, which is used for evaluating the service coverage of each approach. The numerical results show how hybridisation leads to a high improvement and an easy balance between traffic and geographical coverage.Peer Reviewe
